  • Not a good product. I just returned my DW drop clutch. The catch is not catching and holding on to the cymbal and it at times just closes on its own. The Coady Clutch looks better but the company is most difficult in trying to reach. They do not return calls for what that is worth.

  • THANKYOU!(:

  • i hate drum clutches the downside is that if you play too hard with the hats closed the top hat can float up and transfer to open. you'd have to raise the clutch high enough for the top hat not to catch in which case it would sound terrible when you switch to open. convenient yet flawed

  • Bah I just got my hi hat clutch and it doesnt fit because the hook cant go all the way in

  • would this work with any hi hat stand and rod?

i have an old tama hi hat stand

    thanks

  • Thanks for this vid, now I know which one to buy. Lol after i got my double bass pedals for christmas last year I used to have to be playing double bass with my hi hat loosened so it was closed, then if it came to a part of a song with hi hat i would have to pause it, re tighten it and keep going. So annoying!

  • and you can use that little hole (where the key would go on a normal clutch) to hold the cymbals a little bit open but not as open as fully open...if you can keep the top cymbal in the right position for that to work (not just updown, but turning itself around)

  • It`s that Planet Z Hihats ?

  • It`s that Planet Z Hihats ?

  • What happens if i push down on the foot peddle, and it stays down?

  • thank you!

  • Thanks for showing how it works. I was thinking about getting one, now I can 'cause know what to do with it!

    Cheers

  • Hey man check out the Coady Clutch by Billdidit.

  • ive had a drop clutch since before i was born. And im 16.

Its an old pearl that probably is a peice of shit on paper, but it works perfect

  • hey, i find that if u hit the hi hat hard enough, it goes open... is that my high hat or just normal?

  • @Forza2begdrift

Kinda normal. Well my dosen't stay open, but if you hit hard, it sounds open.

  • thanks man i got one but figure it out so this helped thanks

  • Thanks this helped alot

  • does it only go tight shut or can you loosen the hihats so it sounds splashy? i really need one of these haha

  • Now I see what the soccer ball button's for. XD

  • @xxxChriChrixxx

    VUVUZELA !!!

  • Sweet! Been looking around for a simple solution for the double pedal vs. hi hat problem and this is probably the simplest and best one. There's alot of stupid "inventions" out there man... stuff that go on ur feet or long stick things hanging out electric machines and everything...this one is so simple yet gets the job done. :) Have you tried it while playing songs or gigs? Is it as reliable as it seems? :P

  • good

  • Thanks. I'm gonna buy a double bass peddle and it comes with a drop clutch and i had no idea what it was. Seems pretty useful to use

  • i think its kinda a waste of money.. because i play rock and i hardley ever play my highhats closed. and i just keep my hats like not even a cenimenter apart and thats the tone i like not to closed up and not to open so i dont need one but good video

  • thanks man! that helped. because i just bought it and i wasn't quite sure how to use it so thanks!

  • no problem :)

  • Thanks man, now im going to buy it.

  • so this just attaches to your hihat and if you hit the black thing it closes and then when you step on the pedal it opens and your hihat is normal again?

  • yes, when u hit the black thing, it closes it so u can play double bass, with it closed, than just tap the pedal and it re- hooks, than its back to normal
