That Dell doesn't look to bad though! I've heard inspirons are quite good! Mac are better by far but for a PC thats not bad! I'll take it and put Linux on it if you dont want it! I own a Macbook 13" white which was only $849 with free shipping. and it's last years version! It's great and it gets all my music needs done! With Logic Pro 8 (Got it for free). The way i see it is is they will prob still keep the same general design, then add a slightly more powerful model then bumps the prices down on the lower ones. If you bout one now it would in no way be obsolete any time soon. (my imac 2.4 ghz is reaching 2 years and still awesome!)

I'm hoping for the same thing. The SD card slot I'll use it for sure as for the express card I don't care about it since I don't use one anyway. Imagine jumping from a 13 inch Macbook Aluminum with no sd card slot and no firewire 800 to a 17 inch Macbook Pro with 3 USB ports, SD card slot and firewire 800 and a longer battery life. I got the Macbook Aluminum because of it's new style and I don't use firewire but I might when I get the updated version of the 17 inch.
Well if you want portability and take it anywhere you want, then you already know the answer. If you don't care about portability and are gonna use only at your house, then the 27 inch iMac will be the ideal desktop for you.
If you want mobility, get a MacBook Pro (like me:D), if you want a massive monitor + i7, get the iMac. The MacBook pros are going to be refreshed in a few months, so I'd personally go the iMac unless you could get the 17" for a good price. The only, and I stress the ONLY let down in the new iMacs is a GPU not really up to the task of playing games @ the epic resolution of 2560x1440. If you have to have one now and intend to keep it for a while, go the iMac.
@chargers702 are you getting it for school or for home purposes. The iMac's a better machine so if you're just using it around the house than I would get it. Plus it's cheaper, but I'm gonna get a macbook pro for school.

I have both. I had work buy the iMac and I bought the MBP. They are both bad ass so you just need to decide about the portability. The iMac is somewhat portable. I kept the box and take it home quite frequently. It's not that bad. But if you want to take it to the park or on the plane... that might be a problem. ;)

Hi, of course I think the MBP is worth it. It all depends on what you want to do with it. I am not having a whole ton of luck running windows programs like cubase and music production stuff on the MBP but that is OK. Logic uses the dual core and all the ram (4gb) very nicely.

If you are going to be doing that kind of stuff go for the 17". Remember, MBP's are allot lighter and thinner than comparable PC 17" laptops. Just look at the comparison in the video.

MacBook will be more reliable, faster, better to use, prettier (in every aspect), fit and finish will knock you off your feet, youll just want to stare at it. hell, the damn things even turn heads at your starbucks. not only that, but its incredibly powerful. no reason anyone should buy a dell if they have a decent amount of money.

I have two Macs a Mac mini, and a MacBook Aluminum and an HP Pavilion notebook. The Macbook Pros are the best on the market and are excellent quality!
