I really did not know what to expect from Institute, as Bush had been gone a while - I think Gavin does what he does, and does not worry about competing with all the other awful music thats come out over the years.....which is good and bad.

I'd love to see him write a record to knock bands like Nickelback and Disturbed off the airwaves.

Have always enjoyed this guy's voice, and the work of the band members from Bush to Institute, and also Gavin's solo work.. but I always find myself wondering just what they could accomplish with improved music writing.

Don't get me wrong, by now I always am able to connect with the song and understand the message for each given track, but thought-provoking and deep tracks are more than just stringing together "joyful noises." I just think (lyric-wise), it could be better.

Right, I mean, at least Letting the Cables Sleep had a -tangible- message to it, and wasn't abstract to the point of simply not making sense. This apparently was just a means to an end, putting another "slow song" on the album. Again, better than what I could string together myself, but I just miss their better stuff. Call me nostalgic.

People always disregard the fact that the reason Bush broke up was because of the the birth of the guitarist's baby and the fact that Bush didn't want a different lineup, the only replaced him for the tour. There has always been so much more to Gavin than Bush, and now that he's choosing to get to other aspects of his career people aren't giving him the credit he deserves. He's matured a lot by marrying Gwen and having a child, and he's just moving his style to the next level.
