  • Just wanted to pop in and thank you because watching your video about celiac a long while back convinced me to investigate! I have the stomach problems, the rash that usually appears on my ankle, and now thyroid disease. But thanks for mentioning it because i wouldn't have found out on my own!

  • @ashleypoo1319 That's great you have found it all out...hope you are well now xxx

  • Hello Megan, I don't have Celliac, however, you have knocked me off my feet, you have taken my breath away! I hope you are conceited, because, you are God's gift to this world. Would you consider marrying a Yank?

  • @Penkovski LOL-thanks xxxxxxxxxxxx

  • My doctor has told me that I more than likely have Celiac’s disease. I am getting a gastroscopy to confirm it. I am so upset about it because I already have ulcerative colitis so I can’t have alcohol, caffeine, most nuts, dairy (I think this is due to the CD I get a bad reaction I read that a lot of people with CD are also negatively affected by dairy) and I’m a vegetarian! Now to cut out gluten on top of that... it just really sucks.

What are some options for breakfast??

  • @astraperporci Fruit, rice porridge, gluten free toast, gluten free waffles...eggs? Or are eggs out of the question? Sorry I took so long to find your message-love Megan xxxxxx

  • My 12 year old feels horrible that she can't eat wheat. She recently found out she is gluten intolerant. She feels much much better on the gluten free diet but feels so sad because food is used in almost all social events.

  • Can you show her some of my videos? It's really not that bad and it will be up to you to make it easy for her. Some people choose for it to be a huge problem...it's really ok!!! xxx

  • yeah.. i need to learn of recipes for breads, noodles, tortillas- share some if you have any.. im subscribing to your vids- thanks again

  • I just substitute ingredients in recipes...you will need to look at the packets for which noodles etc you can have...google Celiac disease with where you live and they will have some great ideas for you xxx

  • @jewelchic

Can you give us some ideas of what your typical dinner's are at home? What do you make? Finding it very hard to find gluten-free food here in Canada and are limited to what I can eat..Living on veggies...I'm starving.. any tips would be helpful.

  • Ok-it's only wheat,Barley,Oats and rye that are off limits-you can most certainly eat meat, fish and chicken...could I suggest you google celiac with your home country/town for more specific info!!! It's not too bad when you get into it...let me know if u need more help xxx

  • I was diagnosed last year, I'm 13 and am doing fine. Except the part where I'm underweight right now.

My mom cooks for me and such.

My weight loss was also caused by my allergies to corn, peanuts, beef, and pork.

  • WoW!!! Hope you are doing well now...are you feeling better??????? xxx

  • Yes! Much better :]

  • im lucky i have a mom who cooks great gluten free pancakes bread cookies

  • That's terrific-it makes a difference when someone helps you xxx

  • Hi, i have not gotten my blood tests back but i think i have celiac diesease...

When i eat the wrong thing.. i cant pinpoint what it is i have horrible bloatation out of this world and the worst pains ever like unbearable.. it helps when i take a bath i am currently 14 and male

i also have fatigue and barfing when i have my sickness and question.. if i do have celiac does it hurt you EVERYTIME you eat something with gluten?

Please respond and im happy to have found this channel

    Also constipation

  • Please, please, if you think you have it, stop eating ANYTHING with gluten. This is a very serious condition that shouldn't be taken lightly. I only wish I found out at your age that I and my brother have it. There are so many complications...my bro is battling colon cancer now because he was misdiagnosed for years! He's only 33! If you can, start taking aloe vera with some juice or water, and primadophilus and eliminate all gluten and dairy. Good luck and good health to you!

  • You are right about eliminating gluten, but a person needs to be diagnosed first or the body starts to heal and cannot give a correct result . I am so sorry to hear about your brother xxx

  • You really need to get this checked out with a gastroscopy-i would say you do have it. Do not give up the gluten until it has been confirmed as the body starts to heal quickly and can give you the wrong result. Blood tests are not always accurate for this. xxx

  • i am a new Celiac have not got a clue so i aint happy huffs...i dont cook ,wont cook so what the hell can i eat

  • You are probably going to have to learn to cook a bit...look after your body. This is all up to you-you can CHOOSE to make it a nightmare or choose to feed yourself the right foods. In Australia there is a great selection of breads, pastas etc...in the USA it is not as good. Search out the things in the UK and read labels. It's not that bad...other people have a lot worse than this-be glad yu have been diagnosed xxx

  • I'm so glad to have found your channel! Just a quick question, Freedom Foods has a spread called vege spread, which is supposed to be a gluten-free version of Vegemite. I was just wondering if t is any good or is there a better spread out there to feed the Vegemite addiction :)

  • Mighty mite is almost the same as Vegemite-you can get it at Coles!!!!! Glad you found my channel too xxxxxxx

  • Im am about to qualify with a degree in adult nursing be a registered general nurse in britain as well as having ceoliac diease! What a good idea n def keep stressing the long term effects of stopping the diet! xxxx

  • Well there really is no option but to stop eating gluten if you are celiac...so it's best to be positive about it xxxxxx

  • Your song was great xxx

  • Hi Megan - I am a lecturer in dietetics in th UK. I wanted 2 let u know that I show ur clips 2 students when teaching them about coeliac disease. I want students 2 go on 2 encourage coeliac patients 2 have a healthy approach 2 coeliac disease. I use ur positivity to hopefully inspire my students. so thank you

    Carla

  • CARLA!!! That's so AWESOME!!! Thanks for letting me know!!! I am so happy about that xxxxxxxxxxxx

  • I want a celiac girlfriend. I know your way married (from your other videos) and I'm not suggesting anything of course but how great it would be to play with someone with the same dietary concerns. I also noticed that celiacs are often very thin and beautiful from a Northern European decent. I don't know about beautiful but I'm thin and in good shape but unable to eat "normal" foods. Most people think I am a freak so I don't have a girlfriend but a celiac might be a perfect match. -from London

  • Nah-you don't really want that-just someone who will go along with you and support you. Celiacs are only super thin when they are not following the proper diet and thus malnourished-not good long term. Don'tmake being celiac an issue and no potential girl-friends will either-it's really not that bad xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • thanks for the good information - really usefull. I am not yet tested but pretty sure I have the condition.

  • Ok-well it is all ok-truly not that bad-let me know how you go xxx

  • Im starting an opposition group called "sad miserable pissed off coeliacs"

Im 22 and got diagnosed, through a blood test and later and endo... whatever tis called.

So far im probably the worst example because I know I have yet i eat the wrong foods and ignore it. Im starting to get worried my tetth will fall out or some shit will go down due to my mal nutrition so im going to start taking it seriously.

is this a youtube group or? Can anyone scare me with what happens if i continue to ignore

  • Your comment definitely made me laugh but after visiting your page i am not sure that you are really serious... anyway-yes-if it goes on without you following the diet, long term it can lead to cancers. xxx

  • Did you know Posh Spice has celiac disease too??

Thanks for the chat and info.. I am going to bed now.. ciao ciao

  • I did NOT know that. It looks like she must not follow a gluten free diet!!! I got super skinny (loved that) before i was diagnosed!!! xxxxxxxxxxx

  • Can you make a video with breakfast foods??

  • Yes-i might get onto that-good idea xxx

  • what do you eat for breakfast??? That is my issue..everything that is tasty contains gluten..

  • Ok-so you are in the States??? When i was there i went to the Health food store and found gluten free blueberry waffles!!! Otherwise i have toast, muesli, eggs or yoghurt and fruit... The States are not as up with it in the supermarkets as we are in Australia for some reason xxx

  • Thanks so much :)

  • Megan, I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease... and I must tell you, I am not a happy celiac! I am still making mistakes in my diet and am wondering what you do to recover after having had eaten gluten foods. My main symptom is extreme fatigue and I can not get out of bed for at least two days. I am currently sick and need advise!

  • Ok-i see you are in the States...google Celiac disease and your home state and they should direct you to some help. I found that the health food stores in the States had the best selections...supermarkets were not great!!! You can always send me a message if you are unsure if a food had gluten and i am more than happy to help. You need to be really strict for your health...no soy sauce too don't forget!!! keep in touch-your singing is great by the way-i had a look!!! xxx

  • In the US of A it is hard to find restaurants. I have heard that Europe and Australia are so much more ahead on GF dining.

  • You are EXACTLY right-Australia,surprisingly, is WAY ahead of America in the gluten free thing. I thought it would be the other way around!!! I did go to a health food store and found blueberry waffles over there though!!!!!! YUMMM!!! We have GF licorice too xxx

  • As a new Celiac, Oct 07 my dream is to afford a more comprehensive televised public announcement about Celiac including "silent" Celiac and the healing process so more people will recognise their sypmtoms and get tested. When more Celiacs are found maybe more companies will stop using gluten in their products.

  • Do you know i was pleasantly surprised when travelling in Italy in July that i could get gluten free pasta at many restaurants!!! What a treat!! xxx

  • no problem, its a bit expensive its over 6 euro well thats olny in ireland, prob way cheaper in oz or states

  • hi, you can get gluten free larger its called trailblazzer and another one is greens ye probably know already anyways

  • Good work James- i don't drink beer myself- but i am sure that is great news for a lot of celiacs- thanks for letting us all know xxx

  • hey megan. before seeing your videos i had no idea what celiac disease. reason i came across you is because i'm doing an assignment on celiac disease. it's quite interesting and thank you for putting all the facts into easy to understand information. you've really helped!

  • That is a pleasure-thanks for letting me know- i have a group on here called Happy Celiacs with lots of videos about it xxx

  • I am an irish coeliac and love your full on smiling attitude. But I am puzzled - what's with the polythene drape on your head and why are you wearing all your neck jewellery at once? Do you have nowhere to hang it? Is it a neurological side effect of CD?! Sorry just spoofing.

  • Hahaha! I was remodelling a room at that time and i am a jewellery designer-hence all the jewels!!!! glad you liked the video-thanks!!! xxx

  • thanks for being so positive, my daughter has tested positive on the blood test but is terrified of having the endoscoppy so cant get foods on prescription, but the doctor haas told her she will have to follow a gluten free diet for life shes only 19 and its very daunting but its good to know there are people out there like you.

  • The endoscopy is fine- in fact i have one every few years and last time the anaesthetist said he had never seen anyone more relaxed and i told him that it was because i had done it before and knew it was fine. Your daughter can always contact me if she would like to. The diet is for life- but it's really not bad..Let me know if i can help xxx

  • cool, thanks for getting out there and making the truth known, life goes on without gluten, not even a little bit ... and so does fun and everything else including "naughty fioods" but I don't know I think I've close to given up on eating out unless I'm confident they know what they're doing.

  • No-no- don't do that...even of you just order something plain...like a steak...of plain fish...or some veggies if you are a vegetarian. It;s the company you go out for too don't forget xxx

  • No-it doesn't cost anything...i do it to help others get infomation. Maybe some Spanish people will be interested in your videos. I went to Barcelona and loved it...all the Gaudi things xxx

  • nice! ive been to like 25 countries but i havent been to australia. althought its a 35 hour voyage (including stops over)from spain, i would like to visit your small island!!!lol. what places did you visit in spain?if i join happy celiac, will i have to pay anything?and its a problem because we could share recipes but we dont have the same ingredients in our country!where do you get your products from?

    see you later megan! xxx

  • hi!i'm 16. i'm a spanish coeliac and i would be glad to help and take part in happy celiac but i'm spanish. i've been coeliac for all my life and i've never regreted being what i am. i travel abroad once or twice a year and i've never had problems with my meals. nowadays, unless in spain, the knowledge of our disease has been spread.

this is what we all need, we need to help ourselves and we'll be stronger and stronger. bye! oh and congratulations for the video

  • Thanks- what a great message. I have been to Spain and you are right- it's not easy there!!! Please join the Happy Celiac Group- that would be great xxx

  • SOunds great, how do you join? Would be a great to have more recipes, ideas, info etc.

  • I sent you an invite to the group xxx

  • Happy Celiac group is cool group what great idea Meagan for help people with Celiac diease. I was diagnosed with celiac disease back in 2005. I would love joining Happy Celiac group!

  • Fantastic- that would be great xxx

  • Hi, I'm an IgA deficient. Do you know whether there is a link between this deficiency and Celiac disease? Thanks

  • I'm pretty sure it is - from my reading on the net but sometimes I can get the different responses confused - I think it's along the lines of 10% of celiacs are deficient and that can muck up the diagnosis, anyway good luck and if you try the medical route and they just wont play ball read everything you possibly can on the net and go for it and remember over 99% of people with coeliacs are nerver diagnosed and the average time to get a diagnosis is 27 years!

  • Happy Celiacs!!

    What a reat idea!

    Way to go Megan!!!

  • Hope you are joining!!! xxx

  • Hi. Great to see people on here speaking about Coeliac disease/condition. I have had it for 32 years now and in that time the GF food manufacturers have really come a 'long' way! Keep up the great work :)

  • Hey Megan!

I don't think i am a Celiac but I am intolerant to wheat and oats, so maybe I am bordering on this, too. I really feel better when I avoid these things with glutens. I'll join the group, I'm sure it will be something I can use! Hugs, Clarissa K.

  • Fantastic- you should get a gastroscopy to check if you are allergic to gluten as it can lead to more serious things if left unchecked. Thanks for joining Clarissa xxx

  • Hey again Megs I don't have celica disease but I do have Steven Johnson Sydrom were I am allergic to sulfur. Its a very rare and dangerous allergy because sulfur is in everything, maybe I'll do a video on that. bye

  • Great idea for a group Megan! :) It will help so many folks!

  • Thanks Lisa- yeah, i thought it was needed. It has always been a bit of a mission to educate people about it as it is becomimg more and more prevalent..actually i think more people are just being diagnosed...before they just lived with it. xxx

  • What a great idea. I would love to learn some gluten free recipes. I just avoid any flour products now but would love to be able to bake again from time to time.

  • Thanks- i will get onto that next week.

  • Megan, yay! You are back! What a great video. You certainly will be able to help lots of people with your knowledge and pleasant outlook! I have to say, that this video looks like you are channeling John Travolta and being "The Girl in the Bubble". Ever so cute! Love and Hugs-Dawn

  • I remember that movie- how funny xxx
