If your not comfortable dealing with someone on a personal level in your day to day life, will you really be comfortable in a "coven" with them? A formal "coven" is often just a Car Club with robes, not what it should be.

I've been in a few, started a few, still in some, moved from others for various reasons , some mundane geographic reason, some personal. Way too many people see a coven as a separate thing or goal. its not.its a group of like minded people, not a group you join to belong. Would you actually want to practice magic with someone on a long term basis that you wouldn't loan a car too, or borrow one.

@guillermogful witchcraft doesn't really have one, because witchcraft is a magickal practice and witches sometimes are atheists. as far as wicca, there are several symbals for the horned god, the most common is a circle with a cresant moon over the top to appear like "antlers" or "horns"

Very good advice. It IS all basics. As a solitary, you just do what you want, but when it comes to covens and circles, for me, it's just like you go shopping for the best fit. There are all kinds of covens and all kinds of paths. They are everywhere too. Nothing worse than someone arguing over the commercial books on witchcraft... silly.

Thats how I first learned was Silver Ravenwolf. But I expanded my knowledge throughout my own searches and findings. Books like that are a building block, because your spirituality should expand on your own horizons, not the books'. Spirituality is something you need to find within yourself, you cant find that in a book, you find it in your heart, in your soul.
