You know... There's people dissing the Thai fighter, but San Shou isn't simply Muay Thai with throws. The stance is different, and the extensive use of side kicks and aggresion make it hard for Muay Thai fighters to get used to it. I would know, because I train both San Shou and Muay Thai.
Also, The Thai fighter is trying to fight back here, it's just the San Shou fighter is taking him out of his game. Are Rashad Evans or Thiago Silva punching bags? No, but Lyoto Machida made them look like it.

I respect Thai fighters a great deal, my question is their seems to be very little punching going on, as compared to a western boxer, i realize that they have their feet knees and elbows to use, but at times it looked like a good punch combination could have done the trick.

I saw three different figths with six different fighters but the same two styles: muay thai vs sanda. In all tree combats the sanda guys wins. That makes me think: is there a fault in the muay style? Please advice me.
Many of the Thais didn't adapt to rule changes that these competitions have. The Thais have superior boxing, kicks, and knees, but in Muay Thai, you cannot throw by using your hip or leg to trip the opponent. You must train specifically against these kind of throws, or you will fall to them no matter how good your striking is.
Sanda fights never fail to entertain me, if it wasnt for differences in political ideology, this sport would get so much more attention, id love to see more Sanda stars in the limelight.

Why would you expect sanda fighters to rank highly in a sport/rule set that they do not train for? San Da is just as much about wrestling as striking... It's like comparing top level western boxers with high level Thai boxers, they are different sports.
I could argue that because muay thai uses the punches of western boxing (not muay boran) that it is an immitation of boxing. Just because sanda fighters use boxing gloves and throw round kicks (which are different) does not mean it is an immitation of muay thai. Same goes for savate and full contact karate.

I feel KF like Shaolin can be deadly but that level of skill is rare and almost non existent as it takes life long dedication now due to the type of society we are in, such dedication 1 :doesn't pay 2: still die to bullet.
And thus have nearly extinct. While combat sports like Muay Thai are relatively easy to pick up and is like you get everything you put in at once not just at very end. So this is why I like San Da its practical for amateurs like me and has traditional teachings

Lethwei: Burmese kick boxing (stand fight with cling & take down, use 9 limbs)

I saw three different figths with six different fighters but the same two styles: muay thai vs sanda. In all tree combats the sanda guys wins. That makes me think: is there a fault in the muay style? Please advice me.

Many of the Thais didn't adapt to rule changes that these competitions have. The Thais have superior boxing, kicks, and knees, but in Muay Thai, you cannot throw by using your hip or leg to trip the opponent. You must train specifically against these kind of throws, or you will fall to them no matter how good your striking is.

Why would you expect sanda fighters to rank highly in a sport/rule set that they do not train for? San Da is just as much about wrestling as striking... It's like comparing top level western boxers with high level Thai boxers, they are different sports.

I could argue that because muay thai uses the punches of western boxing (not muay boran) that it is an immitation of boxing. Just because sanda fighters use boxing gloves and throw round kicks (which are different) does not mean it is an immitation of muay thai. Same goes for savate and full contact karate.

I feel KF like Shaolin can be deadly but that level of skill is rare and almost non existent as it takes life long dedication now due to the type of society we are in, such dedication 1 :doesn't pay 2: still die to bullet.
And thus have nearly extinct. While combat sports like Muay Thai are relatively easy to pick up and is like you get everything you put in at once not just at very end. So this is why I like San Da its practical for amateurs like me and has traditional teachings
