Believing is the most important part. In my opinion and i believe scripturally as well its when you simply believe that Jesus is Christ, son of God, died and rose again for our sins and confess Him as Lord thats when you become born again.when you recieve the Holy Spirit which can be a seperate occasion; it was for me. thats when you start entering into a kingdom lifestyle living daily in Gods Spirit and preaching and pleasing Him and praying for real with power and conversation.
Many false conversions come as a result of the so-called sinner's prayer. Many say that prayer, but are not truely born again. They prayed the prayer but continued in past lifestyles with No change. They may join church and become religious, but there is no evidence of saving faith in their personal lives.Ppl are using that prayer as like a magic wand that transforms sinners. We can not "popishly" declare people to be saved. We must share the gospel, water,...God will give the increase.
God Bless you friend, I have placed another video that explains scripture and verse as a tool that will lead a sinner to repentance and receiving Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Only God knows their heart but His Word is true. We are saved by faith and not by works. My job is to preach the Gospel with love and let God be the judge. I do want you to know that you have the power to pull someone out of the kingdom of darkness and into His marvelous light. God Bless!
Yes brother...God's word is true, but we in ourselves have the power to do nothing. Our power is only through God the Holy Spirit that works through us. The Holy Spirit draws, the gospel of Jesus is power, ....but as Jesus said...without Me you can do nothing. The new birth comes through God....as man cooperates with Him by sharing the complete gospel in the power of theHoly Spirit....
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead thou shalt be saved. For with heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Yes it's by faith alone. However, this faith RESULTS in a changed life! How many people that mutter these words have a changed life?
The ones that don't, THINK they are saved, and are essentially deceived. That means they are falsely converted, they think they are saved through that prayer, yet are not repenting.
Friend, that is not Biblical evangelism. Jesus say, Repent, He did not say ask me into your heart.
The problem that I have with your theology is you do not use Scritures, yet I have used many. Jesus said, those who ask shall receive(Matt 21:22,7:7-12,John 14:14, and all through the Bible. This could be repentence, healing, forgiveness, prosperty, the Holy Spirit, and anything you desire from His Kingdom. You actually encourged me to do another video today. You are argueing with the wrong person because people need to know the TRUTH and then they will be free. Thank You!
There's great repentance and healing for the Christian, but I'm not arguing about that.
I am worried about false conversion, people will THINK they are saved through this prayer, but are deceived, and still are not repentant. Here's scripture.
It is the work of the Holy Spirit that will convict the sinners heart unto true repentence. Only God knows, if someone repents through prayer, has a pure heart or not. True repentance and filling of the Holy Ghost will produce change in a persons life. Also, God knows the heart of those who preach whether they are pure or not. That is why it is dangerous to judge a person, especially a preacher. Even Jesus did not judge a man that preached in His name.
You think you are fighting me but you are fighting the words of Jesus. I am obeying His words and peaching His Gospel. Do you remember that Jesus taught His Disciples HOW TO PRAY. If you then look at the book of Acts, His disciples prayed for everyone. People were saved and healed. Its your problem if you dont feel your sins are forgiven by prayer. I believe the words and doctrine of JESUS over you or anyone else. The man next to Jesus on the cross was the first saved by his words instantly.
Jesus did teach us how to pray, and no where does it say we are saved by asking Jesus into our heart from these words.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" (2Cor 5:17)
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test? (2Cor 13:5)
I'm not fighting, I'm trying to help you friend. See the scriptures.
I would be dead in Hell right now if God did not miraculously reach down and save me. I believed in God and Jesus but I did not know how to pray. Even the Christians that were coming to me to tell me that I needed to get saved did not know how to pray. Thank God for those that teach others how to pray. Everyone that I know that is a Chrisitan prayed a prayer like this one.
Romans 10: 9 & 10 tells us to confess with our mouths and believe in our hearts. That is prayer that is how that we come to the Lord through speaking it out with our mouths through prayer.
Paul says whoever is in Christ is a new creation. I imagine you possibly being a new creature now possibly through that.
However, tell me honestly, does EVERYONE that say those words become a new creature?
Repentance from sin, lying, stealing, blasphemy, adultery, idolatry.
There's many that have prayed that prayer, and still are unrepentant. They think they are saved through that prayer, but are deceived. That's why I'm against this.
Those who pray the prayer of salvation and receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit are a new creature in Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit enters the heart (spirit) of the believer to confirm that he is a CHILD OF GOD. John 14,16 The problem in most churches is that the converts have not learned to overcome their flesh, yet. That's why they need to read the HOLY BIBLE. The new Testement was written to converts in several churches who had not yet overecome their flesh and sin.
Friend, out of sincerity, I don't think this "salvation prayer" is biblical. No where in the bible does it say, that you can pray this prayer and you are welcomed into the family of God. Jesus says, repent or you will surely perish. He commands us to repent from our sins, our lying, pornography, lusting, stealing, adultery, idolatry to the world.
I think this sinner's prayer is leading people in false conversion. They think they are saved, but they love sin and love the world, and that's wrong.
Friend, I begin with John 3:16. If that is enough to make person want to repent of their sins and receive Jesus as their Lord and savior, those who do are saved. I could have made a long sin convicting sermon and end with a prayer and they still would saved. I chose to do the former. Either way they repent and receieve Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I ask those who do repent to contact us to follow-up and gain direction on how to live without sin. I also wrote an entire book on this topic.
John 3:16 says whoever believes. But the rest of the Bible also says whoever believes is a new creature! I don't see how muttering some words makes someone a new creature friend.
The point is, people will have false assurance, and think they are saved because of that prayer, as opposed to God's work. This false conversion is dangerous and it's all based much on modern bad evangelism. John 3:16 says whoever believes, and that results in a changed life.
The thing that seperates the cross from other religions is, salvation is by faith, not by works. When you confess Jesus before men, He will confess you before his Father(Matt10:32). I believe if we pray in Jesus Name He hears us. All through the Bible it is written that the Gentiles would be saved by faith. This prayer is based on faith along with Romans 10:8-10. There is no work you can do to get into Heaven. Once saved, you work on overcoming the acts of sin, obey his word, and walk in love
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength. Isaiah 26:3 & 4
BLAH BLAH BLAH, Blah blah blah blah.. Seriously, do religious nutbags never get tired of parroting this same non sence Over and over??? Dude, there is no dollar for your plate here...go beg somewhere else. How tiering.....
A few words of wisdom... you shouldn't judge a man unless you know him. If you want to e-mail me personally, you can. My first and only passion is to see people saved by faith in Christ Jesus, and live out their purpose in life. There are many people who are hurting, but cannot make it inside a church building. The internet has been my tool to reach those people. There are many worse things on the internet that you might want to protest.
Im SO happy that all the wisdom you have to hand out today. Still, lets review. You actually BELIEVE that there is an old man in the Sky that made EVERYTHING. You talk to yourself "Thinking " Jesus is listening. (you DO know that Jesus died, right?) I wonder just HOW MUCH MORE i need to know before I come to the conclusion that you are either mentally Ill, or your selling something (or both). WHAT You, like SO many other nut cases, is doing your best to brainwash us all, NOT COOL> Stop.
Every person has a measure of faith. The question is who or what will they put their faith in. Some believe in a creator and some do not. They live their lives based on that. I would challenge anyone to question what they believe and study it out. From my research, science cannot prove its own theory of evolution but it can prove the Christian Bible. Every prophecy in the Bible has happened exactly the way it was written. If you watch the news Bible prophecy is being played out everyday.
If I trust in God and believe that Jesus paid the price for my sins, I live in peace. If I obey his word and walk in love toward everyone, I still live in peace. I can continue to go to work, pay my bills, enjoy my family and friends with peace. When I leave this earth I am going to Heaven the place of complete Peace. The unbeliever who continue to walk in sin does not have the peace of God. There is a place for them when they leave. I would rather trust the Bible than the words of scientist.
I live in Peace as well. Not like the Crusaders. Not like the KKK.( I'll let you name whatever Christian Group YOU Prefer) I also Work, though I dont beg for Money on the Internet. (But You Do) And if you would REALLY rather barrie your head in the sand to the REALITYS in the world, and follow silly fairy tale thats Your problem. But why the Bible? Why not, like, i dont know, The Hobbit. Thats a good story too. Its also a Made up Story. (put that way it seems kinda silly, Huh?) But You Rock On.
Once again, you should not judge a man unless you know him. I do not beg for money. I have many businesses and real estate. The success that I have had come from applying the principle of the Bible. I am chosing to teach the Bible to others and the internet is one way I choose to do so. I believe that all men have sinned and need a savior. The one thing we all have in common is sin. Those who repent, receive forgiveness through Jesus, and follow his words are saved. Its a choice we all have:)
hum...every prophecy in the Bible has happened exactly the way it was written. i see. perhaps you could list a few of them. seriously, just one would do....and, about this "research"...(i'm REALLY doing my best here to not DIE Laughing)just What did this "research" entail? Years of study w renound scholars? An anthropological study on the origins of humans? Perhaps this "research" was for a paper that compared and contrasted ancient religions and there comparison to modern catholicism? No? yes?
I like you a lot. The most famous prophecy was written around 700bc by Isaiah. In Isaiah 7:14, he prophesied the birth of Jesus. There are many prophesies about the Nation of Israel, which is in the news every day. What is the big deal about this small nation? Think about it? With an open mind, science proves the Bible. Science proves a global flood; ie flood of Noah. Research proves all animals reproduce after its kind. God said it first (Genesis 1). We did not evolve, that is only a theory.
WHOH!! Science most certainly CANNOT prove a GLOBAL Flood. In your "research" im sure your ran into (and , im sure JUST AS quickly turned the page) the FACT that there simply is NOT enough water on this planet to completely cover it. THAT, by the way INCLUDES the polar caps. That STORY is Nothing more then a variation on the old Gilgamesh story (im sure your RESEACH uncovered that)And i ASSURE YOU, not mater what type of mind you apply to it Science is REALITY. The Bible is a Fairy Tale.
I do not mind having an intellectual conversation but sarcasm only makes you look bad. There are many dinosaur graveyards Globally that many scientist believe came from a flood. Science, when they come to an unbiased conclusion only proves the Bible. It took science time to find out the Earth was round. The Bible said it over 3 thousand years ago because God knew how it created it. He gave mankind an instruction manual (Bible)to teach us how to live. You have a God given purpose also.
There are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. 1 John 5:7 & 8
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 1 John 5:11 & 12
Here are your scriptures, 1 John 1:9 and 10. If we confess (to speak out) our sin,he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say, that we have not sinned ,we make him (Christ) a liar and his word is not in us. Gods word has final authority no matter what you and I think. Confession and prayer must be made to God for repentance to occur in ones heart believer or unbeliver we all have to come to Jesus the same way in Jesus name. Don't you agree?
We would really be in the dark ages if no one knew how to pray. I would be dead in hell right now if someone did not show me how to pray. We cannot take it for granted that everyone knows how to pray.
Yes God draws them by his Holy Spirit, but they then have to pray a prayer to receive him into their heart. That is how I became a Christian and every Christian that I know.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD JESUS and shalt believe in thine heart thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9 & 10
Yes, Amen, For God so Loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16 & 17
Everyone after praying this prayer make sure that you read your HOLY BIBLE daily and pray in Jesus name. Get baptized in water, go to a BIBLE preaching, teaching church. Tony Sullivan can help you with some advice in growing in Christ Jesus.
No, I literally almost went to hell itself because I did not know how to pray a prayer to accept Jesus Christ into my heart. Went to different churches with no altar call. God help us bring back the altar into the churches for salvation and repentence. Of course we have to grow in Christ and the knowledge of his will by reading the HOLY BIBLE daily that is renewing our minds with the WORD OF GOD.
Yes we do have to pray to accept Jesus Christ into our hearts as Lord and Saviour, of course after that we have to read our HOLY BIBLE daily and pray in Jesus name and share Jesus with others. Take up our cross daily and follow him. Didn't you pray a prayer when you got saved and accepted Jesus Christ into your heart. I DID!!!!! Romans 10:9 & 10 Confess with our mouth and believe in your heart. That is prayer, everyone does not know how to pray. Thank God for the those that help.
I agree that there is a problem with some preachers who do not preach about sin and repentance. In addition, the Church cannot be all about money. God will judge those who have that motivation. On the other hand, the topic of salvation was clear when Jesus died on the cross. A man next to him was the first to recieve salvation without any works. Jesus knew the repentence of his heart. I believe it. Salvation is the free gift of God. We have to turn from sin but most of all walk in LOVE!
I believe God hears our prayers. If we ask anything in Jesus' name it shall be done. As a minister of the Gospel Jesus gave us the authority over sin but not over free will. John 20:23 says whosoever sins you remit, they are remitted unto them... Many preachers will do it differently but the sinner has to repent and confess Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Will that person act perfectly the next day? No, because they have to learn how to walk like a child of God. My latest book teaches this.
Scriptures referring to salvation: Romans 10:8-10, Matthew 10:32, Luke 12:8, and many more!
The Gospel is the good news that Jesus died on the cross and rose again to pay the price for our sins. He sent the Holy Spirit into our hearts to confirm our position as children of God. Once we receive Jesus by faith, we do have to live for Him (my prayer includes this). I allow people to freely comment but I ask everyone judge righteously. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are one body with one Lord.
I am not too prideful to admit if I was wrong or mis-leading about the prayer of salvation. My Bible says in Romans 10:8-10 that you are saved by what you say and believe in your heart about Jesus. In addition, those who pray my prayer do ask God for forgiveness of their sins. We are saved by faith not by works. As for the rich man, his faith was in his riches and not Jesus. Jesus had not died on the cross yet but He said if I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me. He knows our heart.
I have just prayed the prayer.thank u so much.

Jesus says don't judge hypocritically. Righteous judgements are permitted.
"Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment.""
(John 7:24)
Yes, only God knows the heart, but the sinner's prayer DECEIVES sinners. It makes them think they are saved, when they are not! That's bad evangelism!
Matthew 7:1 is talking about hypocritical judgement my friend, do not take it out of it's context.
I have not judged anyone, but am rebuking bad doctrine.

No? yes?
DmakAttack 3 years ago
I like you a lot. The most famous prophecy was written around 700bc by Isaiah. In Isaiah 7:14, he prophesied the birth of Jesus. There are many prophesies about the Nation of Israel, which is in the news every day. What is the big deal about this small nation? Think about it? With an open mind, science proves the Bible. Science proves a global flood; ie flood of Noah. Research proves all animals reproduce after its kind. God said it first (Genesis 1). We did not evolve, that is only a theory.
tonysullivanministry 3 years ago

The Gospel is Jesus dieing on the cross rising on the third day for the remission of sins.

We cannot take it for granted that everyone knows how to pray.
hopeforyouin2009 3 years ago

Then tell me if someone does not pray how that he can get saved? We must confess with our mouths which means prayer.
hopeforyouin2009 3 years ago
Everyone after praying this prayer make sure that you read your HOLY BIBLE daily and pray in Jesus name. Get baptized in water, go to a BIBLE preaching, teaching church. Tony Sullivan can help you with some advice in growing in Christ Jesus.
hopeforyouin2009 3 years ago
No, I literally almost went to hell itself because I did not know how to pray a prayer to accept Jesus Christ into my heart. Went to different churches with no altar call. God help us bring back the altar into the churches for salvation and repentence. Of course we have to grow in Christ and the knowledge of his will by reading the HOLY BIBLE daily that is renewing our minds with the WORD OF GOD.
hopeforyouin2009 3 years ago
