I just use recount's dps meter, omen3 (not on my lock though because there's no reason to know when you lost agro if you aren't tanking), carbonite (has nothing to do with combat, just a special map basically), and dbm.

I don't use any gui alteration things though, just the 3 extra actionbars.

bad dps = enrage timer wipe, Kick bad dpses. Dps meter up = Dps race, Dps race = maximum dps output, Maximum dps output = a fast down :o.

Recount is great as a reference tool. You can of course check it to see who's DPS is lacking. My point is that you don't need the window up all the time!

Ive been in many guilds. My dps Isn't amazing as kitty druid but i've pushed 7k on a lot of bosses that have no fancy damage buff auras, and yes, I consider myself very competitve, but even I look at all that massive assortment of windows and think "waste of space". Its just not needed. I dont care what my dps is during a fight.

Not bad at all. Our warlocks get around 6600-6800 DPS on this fight (we do it for fun now, currently raiding Uld25 hard modes). I play a Shadow Priest and get around 5700-5900 on this fight. Anyone who breaks 6k is impressive. Helps being a warlock though :)

There are many ways his haste could've been that high. A windfury totem was surely down. Also, he could've been using a Spellstone to increase his rating, in addition to lots of haste rating.

I'm looking at this video and I see his dots ticking down at a realistic rate. There is no way this video is 'Sped up'.

talk2todd err your statement is wrong in so many ways, some specs will always be vastly superior when it comes to PvE. You wouldn't PvE as a prot pally or a sub rogue now would you? There's a large margin between all the specs and one will always be ahead of another for PvE/PvP (except in some cases, when two specs are very close to each other in terms of dps).

there is no better spec for pve or pvp on any class, it all comes down to ones play style, skill, and armor count. no one way is better because everyone plays differently and u can achieve what u want if u just put work into it. However on that note i find for me personaly affliction survival is better pualy for the less heals needed and the longer surviving in big boss fights the  more self health regenerative abilities and if u geared and play correctly u can do some insane dmage.

hnmn Best pve spoec at the moement, well firstly i want to say there is no one way better it realy comes down to play styl e and techniques combined with gear and rotation of abilities. However on that note it realy is determoned by what u play like i find for pve that a solid rotation of dots is more suitable mainly for the purposes of survival in long boss fights u need less heals and less assistance in affliction spec beacuse ur rotation heals u and deals insane damage, all the time

I prefer using Curse of Doom. It does more dmg in time and the rotation is easier when you have to put it every minute ;). I pull over 7k dps w/o bl in pw but I have to try now since im more geared now.
