They were originally in SMB3, but only in a few optional areas. They were hard even then, with the alternating movement. Then whoever put them in SMW made their timing much more ridiculous so they're incredibly hard. And Japanese hackers love to spam them everywhere.
I was waiting for a tabarnak, but I'll accept any alternatives. And it makes me sad to see you sheepishly decline a mushroom/apple because you know you'll just lose it :(
Interesting how they programmed layer 3 to have reverse water, I wonder if it would be any harder than it is to program regular water.

Ahh, didn't want to imply anything there buddy.
There's just a certain 'vibe' behind the Mario X Series and these level get pretty close to it!
