maybe its to early to tell but who would norml tend to lean to in 2012'S presidential election? because OBAMA for 2012. no don't think OBAMA is the man to have in office if debating for legalization anytime soon. OBAMA HAS TO GO. BAD FOR MARIJUANA. GOD have mercy on America. who else is there? RON PAUL? not a bad idea.
pot smoking & driving is not IMPAIRED.. NOT INTOXICATED... cannabis smoking does not make any difference.. if anything you drive slowerrrrrrrrrr & more carefullyyyyyyyy.
Screw road side Impairment testing. Nobody will ever pass that. Everyone is tired everyone is not always driving at 100%. But that doesn't mean they can't drive. The Skill of the driver in managing this impairment will be crucial. Roadside testing is no better than what we have now.
give em a sobriety test, its nearly impossible to fail while high, and since they know that, theyll keep taking peoples licenses for just having it in their system...
but the problem is, weed isn't necessarily going to FORCE legislators to consider impairment testing; if they run into broader issues like this, they might think, "forget it. legalizing isn't worth it, its too much of a pain to work out the details." a threshold test like a brethalyzer is much easier to employ. instead of saying they need to come up with a better solution, we need to clearly PRESENT them with a better (and more specific - how would that impairment testing work?) solution
I believe that there must be SOME substance in marijuana that could indicate whether a person has smoked within the last 12 hours or so. I also believe that such a substance or marker should be found by those of us who wish to see marijuana legalized, so that we can answer effectively, the problem of testing drivers for recent marijuana use. There must be SOME substance in marijuana smoke that disappears from the system within 12 hours that can be used as a test. Otherwise we are screwed.
@isaiahdrt55 thats a little off also though. Everybody is different. Twelve hours after I smoke I am so sober that I forgot I even smoked. The impairment test is the best solution. The laws in most states now, if they even find any amount of thc, even if it was ingested weeks prior, you are charged with dui. The persecution needs to stop.
I DON'T drive better impaired. I don't believe that there will be more users or impaired drivers if we achieve legalization. We need to find an effective means of detecting impairment without discriminating against constant vs. recreational use. You aren't doing us any favors by admitting that you drive while impaired (whether you believe you are "better" at it or not. I also thought I was "hillarious" when I was high). Stop driving while you're high. It's the responsible thing to do.
I am definitely a better driver while high, certainly on Sativa. Relax smooth driving, and I had actually a near accident, with somebody who biked around the corner on the wrong side of the street. I was quick on the break like anything. I am a very experienced driver, so this adds perhaps to my good experiences.
@TheMadRaver When I am stoned, and a kid comes towards me biking on the wrong side of the road, and I stand still with that car in an instance, it is no illusion.
@TerrierBram I'm 36 years old and I have seen stoner driving from all angles. While it is not as bad as driving while drunk, it definitely affects your driving skills. I can't count the number of people who "thought" they drove good high that really drove like shit.
Plus, it gives politicians an out to keep the shit illegal.
@TheMadRaver Remember that Ganja is a rather quick and some times brutal evolved plant in the cellars of USA. If the stuff has an unbalanced cannabinoid spectrum, like disproportional quantity of THC, and those drivers were no talents for driving anyway. And there’s a big change, because, bin once to the USA, never saw such a bunch of road idiots together. But anyway, good ganja, and good driver, no problem man. Honest.
@TheMadRaver There are also millions of sober drivers who drive like shit!! We need a consistent across the board impairment test. I do know I drive just fine after using. Most regular users don't even get "stoned" anymore, they just get more relaxed or mellowed out.
@MrAnthonyfilms Agreed. Also, out to all smart stoners like me, DON'T DRIVE WHILE HIGH, we want to show everybody that this Weed legalization wouldn't do anything to the death toll and we can just another argument against alcohol.

In Germany we have a lot of roadside testing. Tens of thousands of people lose theyre licence each year for being tested positive on THC.
So: They can test it, wether its legal or not.
We just have to make them use impairement testing and not drug testing!
