Thank you hyperconnected08, I've been DJing now for over 22 years with several models of JBLs, some under powered and some over, never a problem and never an unhappy customer. I have commercial JBL 4312s throughout my house, JBLs in my DJ trailer and in my vehicles. Although there are some very good speakers out there now, I don't think I could ever trust another speaker to uphold my stellar reputation as a professional DJ, they simply deliver the goods...
@djteknovibe Have you ever done a shoot out between JBL and competing brands? Have you done cost analysis? Do you understand that JBL does not make everything that they sell? Your claims are unscientific and untrue. Peavey makes products that will leave JBL in the dust. You have to qualify your broad statements.
I have been in the audio industry for over 25 years. I have worked for some of the largest dealers in the USA. Over the years we have seen Harman take JBL, dumb it down, do a bunch of marketing spin, and sell it to the masses. They are not as good as they used to be. Those in the industry don't call it Junk But Loud for nothing. They DO make some good stuff, but the days of being the best are behind them.
JBL everywhere! That's what gives the brand its depth: home, auto, marine, church, school, music halls, auditoriums, cinemas, stadiums, dance clubs, outdoor parks, etc.
I was glad to see a pair of L7s ever so briefly (3:32) even though the speakers were reversed.
Some misleading history there. While Jim Lanisng worked on the MGM Shearer system in the 1930s he was working for John Hilliard who was later the head engineering honcho at Altec. Lansing and Blackburn developed the drivers, Bob Stephens designed the high frequency horns and Harry Olson of RCA did the basshorn. John Hilliard was the project manager.
The L820 is a very good speaker but you will want to get the LC2 center channel for the perfect match. I've used them as main and surround speakers in several installations around projection screenas and 60" Tvs and my cusotmers are always blown away by the performance for both movies and music.
you get what you pay for. are there better budget speakers on the market? yep but at then end of the day when your job depends on your gear just as much as you i feel better using speakers that were tested to jbl's standards who else does a 100hr burn in? stands behind there products with real people, and has the technical experience to design systems that in the right hands can be amazing
Proud owner/user of JBL speakers here!!

I have WAY too much JBL gear, but I dig it so much I can't help myself. I noticed some of my gear featured in this video.
Thanks for posting.
