@AkValdar Snow has some amazing moments but he was a douche in someway in each game. Some tips. If you're using auto battle cast libra so that Snow wont use ruin at the start of his command cue. I personally dont use auto battle as I prefer to control my character myself and come the second half of the game it's just better overall to do it yourself. Second using a summon when your enemy is nearly dead already is just stupid. It's a waste of useful TP that could otherwise benefit you. You should've just kept attacking. I'm fairly certain it would've die before you. Good scene

I don't see how this game lacked in sidequests. You have Cie'th Missions, Titan's Trials, AND Bhakti's adventures to go on. As for exploration I spent FOREVER in Pulse just looking around, doing missions, and collecting treasures and Mah'habara has endless tunnels to explore. For me, that was plenty of exploration. Sure there might not have been cities but they're fugitives! It isn't like they can go to people and say "Oh, hey I got this cool l'Cie tattoo wanna check it out?" o.o
@xxtaytaysuicunexx the game only had side quests and exploration in the last 3rd of the game....you can't take out towns out of a FF game...FF13 fucked up on so much things. Most seem to be fixed in 13-2.
@Reloading26 FFXIII didn't fuck up on towns actually. That was Microsoft's Xbox's fault =/ Xbox discs couldn't hold that much information so they had to cut it out of the game. Which sucks cause I have an Xbox so Microsoft needs to step up their game and get with it. You would have been able to explore Lightning's island home, the boardwalk, and a secret NORA HQ but again, too much info for Xbox discs.
@AkValdar Square Enix flatly admitted they had to pull things out due to the lack of space available on Xbox discs. PS3 discs are like Blu-Ray making more space available so if FFXIII had been released on PS3 solely nothing would have been removed. FFXIII-2 had a heavy lack of cinematic cutscenes (not cinematic action) which take up lots of space I'm sure with all of the flawless movements and the length of the scene.... If that's what you were responding to.
@GameInsignia If you care about roaming towns so much I suggest Grand Theft Auto, Saints Row, or games like Fable. Final Fantasy is a (J)RPG not a free-roam or a sandbox game.
@DeathDragon4000 Not beating the Cie'th Missions. Not all 64 (I think, it's been awhile since I played) can be beat by chapter 11. Chapters 12-13 go by quickly anyways since it's all just boss-readiness stuff.

I love how in some parts of that scene, the camera view goes all shaky and ill focused, as if it's being filmed by one of those cute little flying camera things.

@shane9999100 well the PS3 has better graphics and more GB than the XBox but is way more expensive for example in Europe 1 year ago an PS3 Slim with 2 games was very cheap something between 300 and 350 euros thats about 330 and 390 dollars and now just with the Killzone 3 is 350 Euros and the XBox with 2 games is 250 Euros thats about 280 dollars so you can see that is cheaper so is normal that has more people to buy it

@volen24 it looks alot better than ps3.. xbox 360 has higher settings than ps3 thats a fact ;D. ps3 reaches up to 1080p.. xbox 360's got 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, like ps3 but then xbox goes up to 1024 x 768, 1360 x 768(<-amazing). :)

@naruto0116 you have to watch it on a full hd display to see the diffrence, because the diffrence between the two versions is just that ps3 is 1080 p and xbox 576 p on cgi scenes, just imagine 576 p on a full hd display...

@naruto0116 thats the problem...there arent any websites that show you the real graphics, because real 1080 p can only show ps3 or blu ray player, for example, i watched a few cgi cutscenes of ff 13 here on youtube in "1080 p" but when u play it on ps3, it look wayyy better than on youtube because youtube cant show the "real" 1080 p....its a bit difficult to explain and my english is not perfect (i´m german) but lets forget it because in the end both version look awesome

well i have to admit at the beggining of the game i was kind of regretting buying the game. i mean the story wasnt really clear and the characters were a bit wtf. specially snow, vanille and hope. but as i went on i began liking it all since everything began making sense and the characters developed later on

I actually think Snow is one of ther worst characters FF has ever come up with. Probably worse than Zell even. The visuals and music to this game are sweet, and pretty much the only reason I'm going to play through it. I love 12 a lot, there was a lot to like about it, and none of the characters were d-bags. Ten was alright, but it suffers due to the time it was released; lower demand in voice-quality/writing mainly. Ten is probably the worst one I've played, but I don't dislike it by any means.
@Eifler121 I ended up liking Snow near the end of the game, but I hated him in the beginning when he was obsessing over being a hero and refused to see any truth but the one he wanted to believe. I ended up liking all the characters in 13, though, which is rare for me. The only other games in the series where I liked every party member were 9 and 10... all the others had someone that I didn't care for, like Edward, Yuffie, Zell, Vaan(Dissidia 012 has redeemed him in my eyes, though), etc.
@shane9999100 I agree with the characters you disliked except for Vaan. I thought he was likable, and it was interesting how the game wasn't revolving around him, he was just a member of the world the plot would affect. If there was anyone I didn't care about it was Penelo. I only care about Fran really because she's connected to Balthier. Yuffie kind of sucks, but some of her parts in the game are fun to do, and she's made up for by every other character in the game being awesome.
@hippybullshit I did. Not at first, but by the end, I thought they all were a pretty closley knit group of... well, misfits is really the best way to describe them, but they still worked well with eachother. 9 is one of my top favorites, actually.
@shane9999100 People always fail to take note that Snow's character development wasn't centered around his hero complex, but dealing with the responsibility that comes with it. His Eidolon fight screams this out loud, one's pummeling him, the other's healing him, and he has to stand back and take the blows while fighting onwards. More original than an "I'm not a hero" plot if you ask me. (Which happens anyway, but his friends reassure him that he CAN be a hero.)

hope is a moogle gajinka. physically the weakest, magickally the strongest, silver hair, same clothes as FF tactics moogles. seriously, give him a pompom and make him say "kupo" alot, and he's basically a moogle from ivalice.
2, hope's character is rather annoying in the first 1/4 to 1/2 of the game, and considering that that ENITRE part of the game was less than great, he just stands out as the most annoying.
@shane9999100 His mom was super lame, so you don't really feel bad for him when she dies. Plus Snow and his little buddies fell just as far and endured the same exact injuries she would have, but not even a scratch for them. There isn't really a reason why he would blame Snow for her death, he saw her volunteer, and he saw what happened. Snow tried to save her. Hope also never grows. That whole part where Lightning teaches him how to be tough is kind of neat, and made he like-able.
@Eifler121 *her more like-able, I mean. Then as soon as he gets with Snow, he goes back to being a wuss. GameInformer gave him shit for wielding a boomerang, but Link's awesome. I thought his design was very plain and unfitting compared to the other characters. There are very many reasons why this game SHOULD be awesome, but it took out all the cool parts of the preceding games. The voice acting was also a huge step down from 12.
@Eifler121 Maybe because since his mother is obviously a couple of years older than Snow's buddies, her bones are more brittle causing them to break when she fell. And most of Snow's buddies are very muscular so the fall probably wouldn't injure them as much as her. And because his mom is super lame, nobody should feel sorry for her? His mom was one of the only few people in the group with balls. And plus it's his mom so of course he is sad over his loss.
@Ttadmer His mom might have been a bit older, but she wasn't so old that her bones would've been more brittle. The muscular thing would make a difference if it were like twenty feet, but they fell hundreds of feet onto the street. Him being sad is one thing, having no other facet to your personality, and somehow blaming the guy who tried to save your mom for her death is another. Crying for her would've been fine, but being afraid to confront Snow and deal with it appropriately made him a wuss.

And to be honest, by the time that you select each individual command (6 ATB gauges, Lightning as Ravenger) the gauge is already full.

I don't see how this game lacked in sidequests. You have Cie'th Missions, Titan's Trials, AND Bhakti's adventures to go on. As for exploration I spent FOREVER in Pulse just looking around, doing missions, and collecting treasures and Mah'habara has endless tunnels to explore. For me, that was plenty of exploration. Sure there might not have been cities but they're fugitives! It isn't like they can go to people and say "Oh, hey I got this cool l'Cie tattoo wanna check it out?" o.o

@Reloading26 FFXIII didn't fuck up on towns actually. That was Microsoft's Xbox's fault =/ Xbox discs couldn't hold that much information so they had to cut it out of the game. Which sucks cause I have an Xbox so Microsoft needs to step up their game and get with it. You would have been able to explore Lightning's island home, the boardwalk, and a secret NORA HQ but again, too much info for Xbox discs.

@AkValdar Square Enix flatly admitted they had to pull things out due to the lack of space available on Xbox discs. PS3 discs are like Blu-Ray making more space available so if FFXIII had been released on PS3 solely nothing would have been removed. FFXIII-2 had a heavy lack of cinematic cutscenes (not cinematic action) which take up lots of space I'm sure with all of the flawless movements and the length of the scene.... If that's what you were responding to.

@volen24 it looks alot better than ps3.. xbox 360 has higher settings than ps3 thats a fact ;D. ps3 reaches up to 1080p.. xbox 360's got 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, like ps3 but then xbox goes up to 1024 x 768, 1360 x 768(<-amazing). :)

@naruto0116 thats the problem...there arent any websites that show you the real graphics, because real 1080 p can only show ps3 or blu ray player, for example, i watched a few cgi cutscenes of ff 13 here on youtube in "1080 p" but when u play it on ps3, it look wayyy better than on youtube because youtube cant show the "real" 1080 p....its a bit difficult to explain and my english is not perfect (i´m german) but lets forget it because in the end both version look awesome

@naruto0116 as i said, when you play both versions on a normal hd tv, you wont see any diffrence, only on full hd is a little diffrence especially in the cgi cutscenes, but the diffrence is not huge....i am still waiting for a final fantasy game which has that cgi graphics in gameplay :D :D but i think it will take another few generations...

theres no limit to how much you can bet, and you could bet items.

I *LOVED* 13, honest, but it kinda got frustrating when I wanted to craft.
btw, the first playthrough, I NEVER UPGRADED ANYTHING!
never backtracked or grinded either untill I could do the
"ambush behemoth king repeatedly" level up trick.
never really had any troubles with it either, and never used items.
I'm saying this because you here some REALLY retarded rants
about the game being "too hard" like it was megaman 1 or something.

I actually think Snow is one of ther worst characters FF has ever come up with. Probably worse than Zell even. The visuals and music to this game are sweet, and pretty much the only reason I'm going to play through it. I love 12 a lot, there was a lot to like about it, and none of the characters were d-bags. Ten was alright, but it suffers due to the time it was released; lower demand in voice-quality/writing mainly. Ten is probably the worst one I've played, but I don't dislike it by any means.

@Eifler121 I ended up liking Snow near the end of the game, but I hated him in the beginning when he was obsessing over being a hero and refused to see any truth but the one he wanted to believe. I ended up liking all the characters in 13, though, which is rare for me. The only other games in the series where I liked every party member were 9 and 10... all the others had someone that I didn't care for, like Edward, Yuffie, Zell, Vaan(Dissidia 012 has redeemed him in my eyes, though), etc.

I thought he was likable, and it was interesting how the game wasn't revolving around him, he was just a member of the world the plot would affect. If there was anyone I didn't care about it was Penelo. I only care about Fran really because she's connected to Balthier. Yuffie kind of sucks, but some of her parts in the game are fun to do, and she's made up for by every other character in the game being awesome.

@shane9999100 People always fail to take note that Snow's character development wasn't centered around his hero complex, but dealing with the responsibility that comes with it. His Eidolon fight screams this out loud, one's pummeling him, the other's healing him, and he has to stand back and take the blows while fighting onwards. More original than an "I'm not a hero" plot if you ask me. (Which happens anyway, but his friends reassure him that he CAN be a hero.)

It's one of the first stories I've ever seen where your point of view is not the main protagonist's. It also probably has the best voice-acting in a FF so far. If ten does top any polls (the only I've ever seen have been for most awkward) is because it was a breakthrough for its time. I would have to say 13 is the worst after I've gotten further into it. hope is a moogle gajinka. physically the weakest, magickally the strongest, silver hair, same clothes as FF tactics moogles. seriously, give him a pompom and make him say "kupo" alot, and he's basically a moogle from ivalice.
2, hope's character is rather annoying in the first 1/4 to 1/2 of the game, and considering that that ENITRE part of the game was less than great, he just stands out as the most annoying.

@shane9999100 His mom was super lame, so you don't really feel bad for him when she dies. Plus Snow and his little buddies fell just as far and endured the same exact injuries she would have, but not even a scratch for them. There isn't really a reason why he would blame Snow for her death, he saw her volunteer, and he saw what happened. Snow tried to save her. Hope also never grows. That whole part where Lightning teaches him how to be tough is kind of neat, and made he like-able.

I thought his design was very plain and unfitting compared to the other characters. There are very many reasons why this game SHOULD be awesome, but it took out all the cool parts of the preceding games. The voice acting was also a huge step down from 12.

@Eifler121 Maybe because since his mother is obviously a couple of years older than Snow's buddies, her bones are more brittle causing them to break when she fell. And most of Snow's buddies are very muscular so the fall probably wouldn't injure them as much as her. And because his mom is super lame, nobody should feel sorry for her? His mom was one of the only few people in the group with balls. And plus it's his mom so of course he is sad over his loss.

The muscular thing would make a difference if it were like twenty feet, but they fell hundreds of feet onto the street. Him being sad is one thing, having no other facet to your personality, and somehow blaming the guy who tried to save your mom for her death is another. Crying for her would've been fine, but being afraid to confront Snow and deal with it appropriately made him a wuss.
