  • Your watching ABC 7 eyewitness news in High Def with Bill Ritter Liz Cho Rob Powers with Sports and Lee Goldberg with Weather

  • Awesome! They should SO go back to this!

  • OK, I gotta chime in. Grew up in Oakland, hometown ABC station was KGO.

Now, Channel Seven NewsScene. With Van Amburg. Jerry Jensen. Pete Giddings with weather, and Don Sanchez with sports. Now for NewsScene, here's Van Amburg.

    "Good evening, here's what happening..."

  • @micmac99 Don Sanchez, Cheryl Jennings and David Louie are only people from the Van Amburg era who still work for KGO 30 years later after Van Amburg left

  • Very ancient....not adaptable to the modern technology today.

  • sound like paul shaffer...

  • This Kicks Ass!

  • Number 1 in Southern California Channel 7 KABC TV Los Angeles. Now with Harold Greene, Christine Lund, Todd Donahoe with Sports and Dr. George with the weather now Eyewitness News at 6:00 pm.

  • Source Wikipedia:

The original music for Cool Hand Luke was composed by Lalo Schifrin. An edited version of the musical cue from the Tar Sequence has been used for many years as the news music package on several television stations' news programs around the world, mostly those owned and operated by ABC in the United States; this cue was first used in 1968 on WABC-TV in New York for their Eyewitness News newscast and was subsequently imported to ABC's other television properties.

  • I thought that was Cool Hand Luke! I watched Cool Hand for the first time and heard that music and went "hey, thats the Eywitnes News jingle". I love being correct.

  • That intro VO has got to be toned down! The guy sounds like a televangelist announcing the return of Jesus Christ!!

Not to mention cool hand Luke sounds about 4% too fast - I'm a DJ part time, I have to notice these things....

  • I NEED A VOICE OVER AND YOU BE THE BEST FIT

  • Awesome this would totally work

  • @rexxdexx Of course it would work. This used to be used for ABC Eyewitness News for many years. Then years later I watch Cool Hand Luke and heard the music and asked, "Why is Cool Hand Luke palying ABC Eyewitness News?"

  • Awesome! I grew up near Detroit and watched WXYZ "Channel 7 Action News" With Bill Bonds and crew and remember CHL music. Love your Ernie Anderson...

  • You can actually hear a newer version of the "EYEWITNESS NEWS" theme from the Nine Network Australia.

    AND IT SOUNDS GREAT!!!!

  • can you please tell me where you got the song btw?

  • awesome! i've always been looking for someone to do something like this! this is probably WABC's best theme song! they should use it cause it fits!

  • Awesome!!!

  • I love it! It reminds me of the news coverage from all of the WABC-TV newspeople! Especially Roger Grimsby, Bill Beutel, Ernie Arnastos, and Kaity Tong!

  • I like the WABC Cool Hand luke open. But Roger Grimsby is the face of WABC7 and KGO7. But in KGO's case Roger Grimsby's legacy is forgotten on KGO its VanAMburg, Jerry Jrnsen and Pete Wilson. News Scene tonight.

  • I think your VO is really good...seriously. This is awesome!

  • Eh, the Ernie impression, now he's hard to do, I'll admit, but it needs work. But still, better than I can do. Maybe we can ask Frank Caliendo for help.

  • This is awesome - period.

  • Lee Goldberg with the Accuweather Forecast. Other than that, nice hand at it.

  • Find a way to do this same CHL intro for WKBW/WPVI, please... it would be EPIC!

  • That would suck. Why do you think that would look/sound good?

  • Perfect!!!

  • Great work! :-)

  • is this a joke?!

  • Give me a chance to take a spin on the VO! Otherwise, GREAT!!!!!

  • dont think the news is right for u
