I'm lucky. I had and older sister who was a narcissist (I say was because I cut her out of my life 20 years ago). She was always so cool, social, and beautiful that everyone would fall all over themselves to be nice to her. She had the hottest guys and other guys who were willing to marry and support her. LOL, now that she's 49 however she no longer has looks enough to compensate for her disorder and she's living alone in a small trailer in someone's back yard.
2. She was a pain in the rear as we were growing up but she taught me a lot of valuable lessons on how to deal with these people. I never dated one and I never married one as a result. God knows how much money and grief she saved me.
This video sucked up sorry , most Narcissists play the nice , intelligent , mannered card. There narcissim is a byproduct of their over inflated ego. They would not stand there like a fool. They would meet half way , because they want to project a nice guy attitude not a robot from the planet cyborg. Whats wrose then Narcissists ? people who try and analyze them , and come to silly conclusions. I don't know whats worse , the false positives or the narcissists them selfs.
@dzsquared1 Stop that shit and realize that being a functional and mature human being involves realizing that other humans have equally relevant needs themselves and that your attitude will eventually leave a path of destruction and hurt wherever you go, eventually leaving you alone?
Also, you'll die someday.
So... Yeah, make a conscious effort to care others and feel good about seeing others happy.
Well that is lovely. Why is everyone kicking narcissists into the ground? Whenever i look on google then it shows only ways how to spot a narcisisst instead of curing them. GL
@ikbengoed111 Because usually an exaggerated and outwards narcissist suffers from NPD or ASPD, neither of which are "curable".
Usually, anyone who catches themselves trying to cure them has only become engaged in a toxic relationship with the narcissist, abandoning themselves in favor of this toxic figure.
I suffer from HPD and STPD. Personality disorders?
@ikbengoed111 I know! They are demonized, even by the helping profession! But then so is everyone else with a disorder - just to a much lesser extent. The psychology profession seems to epitomize narcissism. But then so does religion and science. How many people are really helped by the psychology profession anyway? Sure they're labelled and medicated, but society's as fucked up as it ever was, maybe more so.
my mother is a narcissist, i learnt the lesson you give here yesterday, i always hoped that she would change, there is still that little linger as i would like a respectful mother. it's hard
Note in a comment below j2bodydouble says if you find an unreasonable person you need to "move fast" and "destroy" them or run. J2 is a very dangerously mentally ill person who has tried to kill in the past, got away with it. He's my brother, and likely planning to kill me as he has delusions I am his persecutor. Please contact me if he tries to buy a gun from you, boatbrain@aol.com. YOU ARE LIABLE FOR SELLING TO A MADMAN. PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT.
I really liked this video. There is only one thing you can do if you find yourself confronted with a narcissist. RUN! Leave immediately, and never look back. I worked for one for years, and it ruined my life. Due to the bad economy, I stayed in the job much longer than I wanted, but finally couldn't take it anymore. If you are married to a narcissist, then divorce immediately, and get your children away from him/her if you value their safety.
lol awesome. Just spent loads of cash and a year to try to work out a deal with a person I thought was buddy, but turned out to be one of those. I tried to cure him, goes without saying that it didnt work out.
I am not saying its a sign of narcissim per see , but if you have a person you are having a coonversation about one thing say thier behavioral flaw or some screwy shit they did and suddenly they have switched topics and they feel if they make ANY arguement you are not pefect, and have not allways been perfect in all ways, they can dismiss ALL you have to say about the original arguement, you have a person you likely should consider pathological and move fast destroy or run from? FYI be wary
to the creator - this is the best video ever! thank you for putting it together. i'm certain that it will be available to all. i have a suggestion - on the scenario where matt tries to change matt - can you make it a bubble in his thoughts? we all know it is a pie in the sky concept to change a narcissist. i'm just thinking that making it wishful thinking only could be a clearer depiction. the thought and creativity put into this video is just awesome. i admire your work!
@gardenangel66 thanks for the compliment! If you truly loved it, please contribute to ensure future episodes at indiegogo/iheartmeproject Even $10 will make a difference.
@esiosan The only way to change a narcissist is to change the biochemistry of their brain, similar to those suffering mental disorders from chemical imbalances in their brain. Sometimes it is "not a choice". People can change, not if biochemical is involved.
people out grow it. I have no connections to mores, so I don't care if someone is narcsissistic.

Why won't a narcissist meet the other person halfway ? Are they too self absorbed ?

Not meeting someone halfway could also come from being the dominant person in any given situation.
Ever seen a boyfriend and a girlfriend interact? The guy tends to call the girl over to him. That doesn't make him a narcissist.

Google 'Narcissism and Codependency'. Wherever codependency exists, a narcissistic individual is sure to be lurking.
