When you're driving a 3000+ car, you dont run it all out downt he 1/4 the first pass. You test it little by little, first the 60', then 330', then 1/8 mile, then 1000' and if its doin good, take it to ethe 1/4.

FYI: The primary reason that Top Fuel cars make the power they do, is the fuel. Nitro brings in it's own oxygen. When the fuel is combusted and splits in the chamber, it releases the oxygen molecules in the fuel. Top Fuel cars are the verge of hydraulicing at any point, and is one of the reasons why they'll lose a cylinder if they spin, because of over fueling.

We dyno'd it before switching the cam and stroking the block, it was putting out 590. The fastest pass we have had in it, with the 440, was 11.75.
