Our family gathered around the TV at 10 PM on saturday nights. We laughed out of control. Reality TV drives me fricking crazy.....this is entertainment.
"Listen you empty bodied boob! I spent me last shilling on this dress, I've had me toenails painted and everything. Come all the way down from bleeding London to stand by this bloody smelly ocean, and YOU say she can't hit the ship with the bottle?" (CLANG!) "Let the old bat hit the ship with the bottle!!!!" 4:05
I grew up watching Carol Burnett. Every Saturday night she would be on TV. She was on for so many years that I took the show for granted. I still laugh when I see these clips. Harvey Korman, Tim Conway, Vicki Lawrence and Carol what a team. There has never been any comparison to this show nor their funny wit.
OMG so funny... Love younger Maggie at 2:57 and 4:04. It's always cool seeing everyone so young. This is truly one of the greatest comedy shows ever. It's too bad it aired before my time so there are still a lot of clips I havent seen yet.
I grew up watching Carol and the gang. Her show was the peak of TV entertainment. I did alot of searching for a replacement when her show ended. Never found anything that even came close. Saturday Night Live? Baaaa! It had a few moments but when you could obviously tell that the performers were reading their dialog line for line directly off the cue cards thats when I knew the era of great comedy talent had ended.
at the end, when she tugs her ear, that is her "hello" to her grandmother. she does it on every episode, mainly the end. Usually the end is when she says, "goodnight everybody" or something like that, and she tugs her ear. It was cool that she incoorporated it in her skit here.
Mrs. Higgins was my favorite person on Carol Burnet show. I loved the way she walked...it was walking wasn it not?? These kind of shows are NOT on t.v. any more
I love the one with Maggie Smith. This was an incredible scene and I loved how she hit Tim Conway because he did not want the Queen to hit the "Ship" with the bottle. If you listen carefully the second time she hits Tim, Maggie Slips and the word Ship was pronounced sort of incorrectly...What a riot...You go Maggie!!!
@supermolly18 thanks! I agree! it's nice to know there are others out there in our young generation that respect and love the legendary classics!! kids today should at least hear about the existence of such classic shows (including the classic cartoons)
@imLovinKellyCCarrieU I remember this show came on once a week when I was a child, it was pretty late and I watched it while I laid my head in her lap. I never saw the end of any of them until I was much older because I always fell asleep! Good Memories!
I am totally cracking up! Laughing so hard! Thank you for sharing this. I really need to laugh! Thank you. Thank Carol Burnett - the best comedian ever!
I love the one with Maggie Smith. Listen to her very carefully...She slips when she say, "hit the ship with the bottle" the second time when she bops Tim Conway, she use the "S" word...Listen to her very carefully, it is a riot and then watch Tim's reaction along with Carol and Tim...So funny!!!

Unforgettable Carol Burnett!!! I miss her funny mimmicks and all the laughter she provided over the years! Thank you Carol Burnett. I'll never forget you!
Her Betty Davis is really good too, but I was talking about when she starts saying "You my keep me a prisoner in this palace forever your Majesty..." She is impersonating Katherine Hepburn from the movie A Lion in Winter in which she plays Eleanor of Aquitaine.
*Listens to what's on TV* .......Shut up! *Throws Glass*

I have looked so long for the clip at 1:28. "Can't wait till I get a harmonica."
Priceless.
And yes that's Maggie Smith. She is SO GOOD. As is Carol Burnett as the Queen. Or anybody else for that matter.
