Terrible song, but awesome that you posted it because for some reason even today almost 20 years later, I occasionally get the very end lyrics "Garfield and friends, here we come, here we come!" stuck in my head. That's what brought me here today. I'm willing to bet not many people have heard this version as it was introduced after the showed moved to CBS and somewhat changed format.
I remember this intro with this final season of 1994-1995. It's not that I think it's a bad intro, I just never really cared for it and also found it quite depressing.
It is the intro used in the "final" season after all. *sniffs*
Ah, you silly marketing executives... trying to capture the youth of America by using that strange "hip-hop" thing they all appear to be listening to.
I agree,CBS Indeed did the same thing with the final 3 seasons of the 80's ninja turtles cartoon when they made that piece of shit techno remix version of the theme sing for the red sky episodes.
I don't remember this theme at all. I dug around and Fox Kids' X-Men was airing opposite Fall 1994 and Spider-Man during Spring 1995. And I always thought I watched all of them before it disappeared.
According to TV sources, During the final season (1994-95) , this show was up against 3 BIG shows in the same timeslot (11:00-noon), X-Men pair with Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego? and The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show from Fox and ABC, respectively.
how the fuck is this rare, its right here

It's still a shame they replaced this with the earlier version on the DVD box sets.
I mean, nevermind the integrity issue, but it doesn't get more "early 90's" than this!
Takeshi357 1 month ago
@ChrisRJ I don't think it' so much "Bad" but rather an inferior attempt to stay hip with an increasingly aging audience.

Compared to the lively and fun intros of the earlier seasons, this really is terrible.

it amazes me that they used most of the scenes form "the Garfield rap" spliced with us acres scenes to make this
