I use to have a "collection" of vacuumes as well. I can't remember the model but I had a real old Kurby that was given to me by our local dealer and it worked perfectly and had all the attachments and box and everything. Sadly it was "lost" during a basement clean out. I was very sad when I discovered that it was gone. I use to have a JetFlo canister as well, also some dirt devils, some old eurikas and hoovers. I must say I like Kubys the best.
Some people won't life a finger to keep a vacuum running; they're usually pretty easy to fix. When I was a kid my parents actually took theirs in for service every now and then.
I really have no clue bc i collect vacuums that look cool and old and really do not know the price. But like i said if u want to sell any of them let me know ur price and i will see if i can match it.
okay. I'll probably be listing a few of them on ebay in a week or so, since I'm trying to clear out some of the extras that I have. my ebay id is general_0ne, so keep an eye out if you're interested. I'll probably be listing them at $10 or $15 each.
Awesome!!!! I Love the 1980's Vacuum Cleaners!!! Eureka's from the 1980's are my #1 Favorites Vacuums!! That's a lot of Vacuums!! 20 Vacuums WOW!!! I like some Hoovers and I hate Kirbys. Eureka's are my #1 favorite in Vacuums from the 1980's. It's nice that you have all Models of Vacuums!!!
Do you still have that Singer Turbo and if so, may I PLEASE have it????? You see, I have that EXACT SAME Singer already, but mine NEEDS some Replacement Parts to Run, ALL of which, your Singer there has for me, so again, may I PLEASE have it, PLEASE, I will Pay Shipping, can do it now even, as I NEED it ASAP, THANKS A LOT Friend!!!!!!!!!!!!
within two years the cable broke that controlled the gearbox for the self propoltion mechanism, Eureka made a better sefl-propelled sweeper, the Dial-A-Matic was by far the strongest and most dependable one we ever had, I will find one eventually, nice sweeper collection by the way, I collect an aray of small electrical appliances to.
The orange and tan vacuum (that I don't mention) is a Dial-a-Matic, I think one of the first models. The brushroll is toast unfortunately. The Concept One that I have at my parent's house is self propelled, and was working fine but the input shaft of the gearbox needs a new bushing. I have various collections - mostly antique radios/TV's, and the vacuums, but I have a variety of other things as well. Guess you could say I'm a packrat :P
I wish I had our old gold and white Hoover Dial-A-Matic, which my mother bought new in 1980, my fater and I had to assemble and maintain these vacuums, my mother was a sweeper jockey, she was hard on apppliances, she almost killed our G-E washing machine if it wasn't for us complaining about how much detergent she used. She threw out the old dial amatic and bought a Hoover self propelled with a small removable dustbuster that snapped in to the front of the sweeper, that one wore out quick-
The silver and black one with the short handle? That's a Fantom that's missing the hepa filter. since the filter's missing, the internal cone of the canister is loose, and whatever it picks up just gets sucked into the motor. When I got it, the entire thing was clogged with enough cat hair to make a complete cat. The motor housing is also partially melted due to the motor overheating...
Okay. Thanks! I know it's a different model number than the Super J, but the gray one has lost it's sticker on the top. Is there any real difference between the two, other than I'd say the Silverado is newer?
How do u find vacuums in the trash? I mean most of those are so rare to find. At most thrift stores, those r hard to find.
