Just made this delicious soup. I added 2 Tablespoons of the Chik-n-stock (vegan stock) to the water when I added the potatoes. Killer soup! The only problem was.... I went for another bowl. It was THAT good!
@fidoggy Loving Hut is actually really inexpensive in what they charge to customers for each dish, and the portion sizes are tremendous. The component ingredients when purchased at the organic supermarket are not that much more in comparison to the conventional counterparts (maybe a $1 or so here or there). Plus the amounts used for smaller portions reduce the overall costs to pennies per serving anyway.
Curious why your even here? This is for Vegans not meat eaters.
I think somewhere in you, you KNOW eating meat is crewl, and bad for you, hence you must put Vegans down. I have the blood work to show this.My doctor praises my efforts to top health. I love living a Vegan lifestyle.
@bubblebathgrl I believe in the theory of evolution. Chimpanzees usually eat fruit, but sometimes, they also hunt smaller organisms, and eat insects, rodents, lizards etc. Only as a small percentage of their diet though. I believe that we should follow a similar diet, by mostly eating fruits and vegetables, as few cooked things as possible as it's not natural, and we should eat meat, but only occasionally. This is my belief.
why do people argue about eating meat or not!!! I eat meat but I mean it's all fodd is somebody is a vegan then so what?? I eat vegan food from time to time, and vegitarian, and sometimes like it more than meat, and plus theres less guilt afterward, you won't be gaining a bundle, at least if it's not full of bread or other carbs, lol
Hey guys please come+educate the meat eating morons of Liverpool Uk an alternative+open up a branch over here...we have literally 1 decent vegan/vege friendly restaurant+yet its still cooked in a kitchen that cooks meat....no choice for the likes of me,vege since 1977,,age 10..nice recipe 5*
Animals will die no matter what we do... They live in cramped horrible conditions as i said they die no matter what we do why not let the nourish you so they dont die for absolutly no reason
they live iin cramped conditions is because they are grown to eat... hence if we didnt mass produce ... no bad living conditions...one thing leads to another.... balance.
soy products (suppresses thyroid and caramelizing food may lead to degenerative diseases. use coconut milk and puree with a hand blender. my friend taught me this and the taste is exquisite
@flame4myandy I like almond milk, oat milk and hemp milks a lot more anyway. Soy has a huge monopoly, like corn. Support horticulture not monoculture; seek out alternatives to soy.
organic takes 10 times the space as non-organic, land where treest and other things must be destroyed
chemicals and genetic alterations are there to HELP humans, they were not invented for no reason. Cancer is down over 50% since chemicals started being used in the early 20th century...
So your right, if we never run out of land, never die young, have all the money in the world, and have bears live with salmon, this would work for everyone.
Please show me a reliable source where you got those figures.
Since it, at most, takes two times the space to grow organic(I grow myself), and that's still pushing it.
Chemicals and genetic alterations are not there to help humans, they are there to make the plant look better for selling purposes, and to keep bugs from destroying crops(The last part wouldn't be a bad thing if those chemicals had no affect on humans).
Also, it doesn't really take more money to grow organic, just more effort.
Props for exposing us to new ideas HippieGourmet!! That's an ingenious idea! I believe that more people would embrace eating vegan (or just learn put up with it) if there were vegan fast food restaurants everywhere!! Cheap and healthy!!!! =D
Plant don't like mean eaten either. The morals are a moot point. I don't care if an animal has brain. Neither plant nor animals like to be eaten. Also, balance must exist between herbivores and carnivores for food ecological systems to stay the same.
Eating plants is more efficient however, as far as trophic energy consumption goes. Also, some people don't like how most animals for slaughter are treated.
"The simple fact with humans is that they taught themselves to eat everything. Humans have a digestive system consistent with herbivores. Human beings are not natural meat eaters. This can be easily pointed out by their teeth. Human teeth are not meant for tearing into flesh and bone."
Nahh!! we are born to eat meat you believe what you think is right and I still be eating meat and so does everyone on this planet. We have digestive system that can breakdown meats veggies were kinda like omnivorse.
@hippygourmet human molars are not specifically geared for tearing meat, but our incsors and canines are well adapted for it. Also our digestive tract has somewhat of a difficult time digesting vegetation compared to other herbivores. Eating meat is definitely not a requirement in the human diet (if you eat the correct vegetables and legumes), but we are in fact adapted to do so. Anyways, great vid! The potato soup looks great.
If you think canines automatically mean you must eat meat look at gorillas. Horses and camels also have canines and they are herbivores. Herbivores also have side-to-side jaw motion because they chew food instead of just ripping and swallowing like flesh-eaters. Can you move your jaw side-to-side?
Humans didn't start out eating only meat - in fact for a very long time meat was a very, very small part of our diets! Meat made up only about 15-10% of human diets in hunter gather societies!
i added a pepper to the mirepoix. and deglaze it with some chardonnay. and substituted the sweet potato with a parsnip. more starch, less liquid and you could have blended it up for an actual creamy texture. i am not a fan of cooked soy milk or using water, so i used less soy and did vegetable stock. plus, why not add a bouquet garni, while the potatoes are simmering? instead of adding herbs as a garnish
i tried the original, and it was kind of bland, but you did start the recipe idea.

Vegan + Organic usually means double of double of cost. The creamer and vegan cream cheese you use?

it will taste a lot better with some bacon.
of course you need to kill a pig for it.
the prices on organic and soy cheeses are too high, and in my evolutionary priority list a milking cow or a pig is worth better little.
with respect to all vegan people, the day we have a moral standart withing our race i might consider to extend it to a chimp, cow, pig, etc.
if not the best you can do is kill yourslef and feed a carnivorous animal and the rest of you fertilize earth.
cheers
