The Saturday night line up reminds me of spending weekends with my grandma, and we would watch the whole line up from Facts of Life through Hunter. Good times.
Watching this on you tube and it reminded me of Thursday and Saturday nights on NBC. I was talking to my friend about Betty White's stories about her Uncle's farm.
they just dont do this kind of promotion for tv nomore......its all run into the ground with stupid crap nowdays!!! its just not worth turning on your tv no more..
It's corny, but this was a fun era for network TV. It's not the same anymore. I had forgotten about these promos and how they truly celebrated NBC and the characters on their shows.
The only things I watch these days on NBC is 100 Questions, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and Heroes. I wish I were alive during these good NBC days.
Where were Chuck Woolery, Pat & Vanna, Bert Convy, Jim Perry, and the other NBC Daytime hosts? They were just as much a part of the network as the others were.

I think that NBC needs to bring back shows like they had in the 80's and 90's. Shows are getting cancelled left and right..

Kudos to the folks from Cheers for not partaking in this. (There are only 2 brief shots, and both are clips from episodes, not staged zaniness.)

Why don't the networks do these anymore? I saw Bravo do something similar to this with their reality tv stars.

NBC wasn't as proud of its daytime lineup as it was it's primetime (this is just my theory).
bhayes06 2 years ago
ironically on their promo for the following TV season, they did feature Bert Convy in that promo, though.
