The military justice system is a joke. Most of the JAG guys I've had contact with are blatantly incompetent. Unit commanders get final say in trials- not judges. We're talking about guys with a 4 year degree in something completely unrelated to law; commanders aren't qualified to preside over traffic court but somehow in the military they're the final authority for any trial. The entire way the military justice system works is broken and sometimes flat out corrupt from the top down.
