This isn't of as much interest to me as Let Us Go and Burn Her Body, but it still looks interesting. Is there a release date for it, and is it going straight to DVD or are you going to tour around with it for a while? I'm looking forward to following the release either way.
This was my attempt at more straightforward horror. There's a bit of experimentation, but it's nowhere near as surreal or experimental as the thesis project, Let Us Go...On the upside it's just over half the length of the former.
I'll be showing this at festivals and hosting regional premieres soon. There are a few distributors that've already showed interest, so once the sound mix is finalised and the colour -corrected I can start sharing it with an audience.
Did you guys not use a tripod? How about a microphone other than the on camera mic? Great attempt, but I would spend about six months watching classics to at least learn the elementary skills of filmmaking.
I actually have a Master's Degree in Film Production, and a Bachelor's in Film Studies. As for classics, I'm up to over 2,400 films and counting on my "watched list".
This film very consciously follows the style of the exploitation films of the early 1970's ala Werewolves on Wheels (1972), but through the filter of French New Wave editing techniques and (some) documentary-style shooting. Many shots do use cranes and tripods. Sound in the trailer is still the rough mix.
