All you need to do to bypass the hand brake is connect the cable (green) to the neg (black cable). Mine works perfectly.

whats up man just got dp audio head unit at frys and i l have a problem when i turn the car off the power stays on, and when i turn my head lights on my screen turns blue i bypass it by connecting parking brake to ground .. hope any one can help me out..thanks

@s3xypinkkisses2 i barely found out how to fix that yesterdaii ... there is a green cable... you just have to ground it to metal.. and itll work.. its gonna ask you later that its illegal driving like that.. just press ok.. that easy i swear...hope it helps..

Grounding the green wire only it won't work, because this unit has a secuense to operate with video. I have this stereo connected with a closed pulse switch, I need to press it once and thats it. I have a kenwood ddx 514 in my '06 Altima and I just grounded the green wire and it works. I'm not sure about the relay, because I don't know how they works but I'm pretty sure that you will have to make more connections using relays, thanks to everyone

connect the green cable to a ground cable, put a kill switch in the middle and done. head unit__switch__ground cable

i got this head unit in my lowrider truck is badass yes you can play cd's or dvd's with the screen close and you can change the screen to about five different colors you just can change the blue light on the bottom part of the unit

I have one of this in my car, its a great headunit.. I just got "sirius sat radio" ran thru this unit instead of having it on its portable sirius device..

Its awesome becase you wont hear static of any kind, and its cooler to control sirius radio thru your pioneer avhp5000dvd unit. Chicks digs it..

Yeah, but be psycologically prepare to loose those $350 if buying from ebay. I love ebay, but I would never trust this website on electronics of $50 and up. Yeah Ebay protection plan, my ass!. Never tried it, but still won't trust it. Ebay its great to shop as long as its not electronics.

you have to check the comments and rating on the person you are bidding on. I bought a new Kenwood DNX 540 for only $480 total including shipping. Brand new, at Best buys right now as of 12/3/09 it is going for $949.00. Altough I agree with you have to becareful with Ebay, but so far I have been lucky and had no issue.

yeah. it's beside the link to the av menu. you can tilt it forward or backwards. It also has an auto flap feature

I have a few questions. Did you buy your bypass switch from Radio Shack? If so can you please give me the model number so I can purchase it. Also, did you run your Pioneer harness parking brake (green wire) and ground (black wire) to your bypass switch?

yeah, i bought it from radio shack, but unfortunately I forgot the model number. You can use any toggle switch. I ran both wires to the toggle switch, but i ran a tap on my ground wire. (I would recommend using some extra wire if you have any)

ok you dont need a 2 prong switch all you do is get the green wire that says brake bypass and wire it together with the ground wire and it will be bypassed all the time no need for a switch
