You DO NOT need to change your MAC Address if you want to change your IP Address. You'd only want to change your MAC address for spoofing (same w/changing your IP - spoofing). To change your IP, find another video on youtube..there are probably 50000 of them.

Just unplug your modem and plug it back in in 10 minutes. Your IP address will change. While you're at it have your router unplugged too, so when you turn everything back on everything will refresh. Your MAC address really doesn't influence your IP.

This guy obviously doesn't know that much about networks. Your ip address on your network will change if you renew your DHCP release. If you are using cable internet you can easily unplug your MODEM and get a new IP address. Some people have static IP's setup, in which case you need to call your ISP and ask for a new IP address. That being said most highspeed services are DYNAMIC therefore YOUR IP address can change, and will if you unplug your modem for a while and replug it in.

You know most users have dynamic global address from the ISP. Meaning to change your IP add is to turn off your modem/router and turn it back on. If your IP did not change, it means that no one have grabbed your IP, and you have received the same ip from ISP. Some people use to turn off their modem for 24h and the next day they have new IP add. You don't need call your ISP nor open your modem just to change your IP. Unless you have static address, then call your ISP.
