@austinman1995 Or more realistically, the 6 Speed auto used in the 2008+ Taurus & it's 3.5L DOHC V6 which has proven to be a very reliable combo for ford
@TJC450 both vans were terrible, interiors were garbage, reliability was garbage, they were death traps, they were ugly to look at, and even chrysler minivans had so many advantages over them tho they were terrible too. the quest and sienna were better but they still weren't so great only the odyssey was the most decent minivan during that time
@2004NissanSentra I'm sorry, but the only time Chrysler's minivans had an advantage over a GM was when Stow 'n Go was introduced. I miss my Pontiac to this day! Not a fan of Chryslers to this day actually.
We had one of these for like 4 months when living up north. After leaving the Carwash I jumped on the Highway & Home was the next exit 1.5 miles away. I had the thing at top speed at 102 or 104 MPH so It would dry up LMAO.. Was as fast as it could go cause it didnt want to go faster. It handled fine tho, but again the biggest issue in these were the Tranny's/Torque Converters, Interior quality, & the oldschool engines which were boat anchors despite the high torque
We had a ford windstar like......gee like 91 maybe? it was the biggest hunk of shit. We traded it on an a '98 crv brand new. And the ford broke on the way getting the new car lol.
I thought the Honda Odyssey would have had the most torque. They had something like 240 horsepower. I like that fake wood-grain stuff, make it look upscale when it's nothing close of upscale.
This Freestar's 4.2L engine has 201 HP & 263 lb-ft of torque... Still class leading but the Odyssey, Quest, & Sienna would still smoke the Freestar during a 0-60. Tho if u fill up all the vans with passengers, the freestar will be less strained when pulling the extra weight vs the competition.
Well yeah but that is fullsize & those handle like a truck. I've driven many of those 16 pass E-350 vans ( Both the V8 & V10 versions ) and they are very trucklike, Tho it will outlast any minivan.
My dad says this van and its Mercury counterpart were bad vehicles to start off with.

The cup holder didn't break. They are designed to do that. So if it gets stepped on, it doesn't break, just collapses.

Yea, the interior in the 1999-2004 is quite cheap. Oh well, we got lucky because the 2004 model year had no tranny/torque converter probs

@Intechdude300 Wow. That is alot of torque. But if you really want to haul passenger's the E-Series is the way to go.
