First you need to learn to shoot proper with a good form over your head or shoulder before you start jump shooting.

@TheCoolooS it depends. there is what's called spirit of the shot. Even at of balanced momentum, you can still shoot like it's always splashing through. eliminate too much struggling thoughts or doubts just shoot then, the fashion of shot is simple yet instinctual.

Yes, form is important but what they don't explain is as you go further back to the three point line you need to add your legs to the shot. Make sure you get the jump just right for you to get the ball through the basket. Also remeber there is NO proper form, as long as you can get it through the basket consistently your fine.

I think the shooting form needs to be adjusted for longer armed players. For instance, Ray Allen has the perfect form with his short arms, but Reggie Miller and Kevin Durant look awkward because of longer arms. You think?

@netsnapper No- shooting form doesn't need to be adjusted for players with longer arms. The reason why Ray has picture perfect form is because his Dad was a coach so he developed good shooting form from day 1. Reggie Miller had unorthodox form because when he was a kid, Cheryl, his older sister, used to block his shot every time they played 1 on 1; she was taller than him for some time, so he developed that shot when he was a kid as a means to get his shot off so it wouldn't be blocked.

Best shooting instructor I have come across is Dave Hopla ... and he can really shoot ... I like he breaks everything down footwork - hand - elbow etc ... does'nt use BEEF last clinic I saw him ... plus his energy and motivational skills are excellent ... os ...
