hey i am about to ''enter'' the more advanced world of rc planes... so i wanna ask some questions of u think u wanna answer them it would be very nice ^_^
1. is it good for beginners?
2. are the controls of the throttle and the tail elevators seporate?
3. how does it perform in wind?
4. are there any problems with it after some time passed like: elevator jamming, less performance at speed, lose fitted engine, etc. etc ?
@bombersander - I am gonna dissagree with pringelsfred. This is a good plane for a first 4 channel, but not for a first plane. All of the Lanyu 700 series planes are great flyers and very forgiving, BUT... warbirds, even these forgiving Lanyu and Guan Li models, can get away from you VERY quickly. Start with a hobbyzone champ. $89 with all you need to fly. Because the champ is so small, it is pretty hard to break, especially when flying over grass.
@MrMarkpfeltz Thank you! Charge 'till the battery feels warm in your hand. Warm, not hot, then your overcharging. Stock battery can be flown 'till you feel the planes power going down. Let it cool down then charge it again. Have fun with your plane!
Take the plane out and fly it. If you like it upgrade to a better Tx and Rx and put in a brushless motor and ESC combo unit. They come as a single package for about $20 USD
I've seen one of these complete for £49.99? I quite fancy one because my other planes a re large scale nitro and as such need a full day at the flying field. I've got a park just next to mine which would be ideal for a quick flight, would you recommend one of these?
I've seen one of these complete for £49.99, seems decent, my other planes are large scale nitro and as such need an all day session and proper flying field. I've got a park just next to mine which i could nip out too for a hour or so, would you recommend one of these?
@bankslord Oh yeah. I use a 1000MaH lipo 11.1V 10C pack for some extra kick. Best to use your own reciever and transmitter, the stock one is not that great. Otherwise great little parkflyer, upgrade too brushless for more fun. Have fun with it!
@bvm1986 I use a 11.1v 1000 mAh 10.5C. It works great and gives you 8min of flying. Don't push the motor too much though. Half power allready gives nice result.
and sorry another thing...would that be a 3 cell battery? i dont know very much about rc batteries since ive just picked up the hobby recently...would i need a different charger for that battery as well?
@bvm1986 Correct! Its a 3 cell. You need a lipo charger. Almost every lipo charger takes 2-3 cell battery's so that's no problem. All you need can be found on ebay.
seems like a very nice fluying bird. I got an 11.1 2200 mah lipo that will propably give it 30minutes of flying time. now I think About it I got an 18amp art tech ESC and an arttech brushless all brand new never been used .. hmmm :D
Brushed 370-sized motor, zakryyy. It seems to cope with a 3S lipo, so for more oomph shove an 11.1v lipo in the canopy, it fits perfect. LOADS of power! It'll pretty much climb vertical, but recommend short full-throttle bursts only.
Mine seems to nosedive as well. The control surfaces (ailerons specfically) had little authority out of the box, as the plane could hardly fly or respond to input. Caused a few crashes by not checking first. Made some changes ,trying again tomorrow!
I've never used a 3cell lipo on these brushed planes before. Does'nt the esc overheat? I converted the AT-6, made it brushless and use 3cell 1000mah batts. Vids later, hopefully :-)
If I could keep the thing in the air long enough I'd tell you ;) I'm having radio issues, as the stock esc WILL NOT WORK with Spektrum radio gear (throttle channel wrong, not enough thrust) so I've been trying the stock radio which glitches like mad. The motor gets hot, but the ESC seems fine in ground-tests. Guess the current is still under 20A..? New (Spektrum friendly, hopefully) 30A ESC on the way, and then we'll see what happens ^_^
I got same problem with the spektrum. No throttle untill stick al the way up so... sucks *LOL* but strange enough, I used the art-tech 2.4ghz transmitter and reciever and it worked perfect together with the esc. Not all recievers seem to agree with DSM2.
Sorry to keep bothering you, but what is the assembly for putting the propellers on........it had 2 nuts a washer, what order should I put the propeller on?
I learned the hard way *LOL* (check my other vids) The big props are for powerfull but shorter flights I use the smaller props. They give good allround performance.
hey im gna buy this plane off ebay one of these days, do you think i should buy this or a slowstick? also any tips u ahve for the first flight so i can avoid a crash like you did?
I crashed it because I got blinded by the sun and lost track of the plane. so ... don't do that *lol* use sunglases, do not be a stuntman on your first flight but fly a couple of easy circles and get to know how the plane reacts. Be easy on the elevator, thats kinda hard in the beginning. Everybody crashes sooner or later so you might be ready for that. Enjoy!
so do you think this is better value than the slowstick? also, i have only ever flown 2 cahnnel proportional thrust planes before, would i sitll be ok, also when u fly on full throttle, does the plane climb at all or still fly in a straight line?
a slowstick is safer then this one, but these are more fun. I've flown 2 channels before this one aswell. It's a bit scary at first, you might crash but once you got the hang of it you'll be ok. Against wind the plane does go up a bit on full throttle and it goes down a bit with the wind from behind. Pretty much straight though.
Not always. If there's a good wind the plane can go up on its own and you even might have to push the plane down a bit. It all depends on the wind and the angle you throw.
Yes, always launch with full throttle. And make sure the plane is level. I put the throttle trim halfway after putting in the battery. Gives it a bit of extra *ooomph* LOL
Does the transmitter have a plug in the back so I can buy one of those (Forgot what its called exactly) USB cables into it to plug it into my Computer for a Simulator?
I haven't had a RC plane since I was 8 (Right now i'm 12) and that thing was junk. I don't have very much money so I need a good plane right off with no money for "building up". Is this plane good? I Love WWII war birds (Hate Jets etc)!
This plane is not the best choice for a starter plane. Try a good 2 or 3 channel first. It's cheaper and less chance of crashing your money . Thanks for the comment!
I'm thinking of buying this...durable? I don't have much RC experience but TONS of FlightSim experience over the past 20 years. Perspective isn't a problem for me, and I have a muscle memory for flying...Think I'd be okay, or is this not really for beginners?
It's a very durable plane. It will not break as quick as some of the other planes out there and has good performance. Check ébay for a good price and buy it. You'll enjoy it over and over again just like I do!
Does this have retractable landing gear?

@bombersander
1: It's very forgiving and can take a crash like a champ, so yes
2: throttle left stick and control surfaces (elevator-aelerons) right stick (mode 2)
3: I have no problems in minor wind
4: I have it over 2 years now and upgraded to brushless, servos still original and no problems
Hope this helps, it's a great starter plane for first time 4 channel flying

@pringelsfred THANK YOU!! im gonna buy it for 119 euros on the internet again thanks

is 300m (1000ft) of range enough?
NEEDCARS 2 years ago
For this size of plane it's plenty. I like keeping it close anyway. And you would be surprised how far a 1000ft is. Great plane!
pringelsfred 2 years ago
1000 ft of range is beyond enough for this plane. You won't be able to see it before it ran out of range

When I got the plane i had 4 propellers 2 big and 2 smaller then the big one. So witch one did you use. How did you learn flying RC models ?
MrSkiletik 2 years ago
I learned the hard way *LOL* (check my other vids) The big props are for powerfull but shorter flights I use the smaller props. They give good allround performance.
pringelsfred 2 years ago
How do you know if the battery is getting low during the Flight?
MrSkiletik 2 years ago
Once your throttle is at full power and your plane flies like it's only on half power it's time to bring her down. Thanks for the Q!
pringelsfred 2 years ago
So once you are in the air then you put the throttle trim all the way down?
anasunb 2 years ago
Nope, it can stay in the middle
