This game was based before the first games. You can argue that the Ceremonial Armour that they wear in the Halo trilogy was not introduced to them until after the events of this game.

The Spartans are not just armour, they have gone through Genetic Engineering and are just as strong as an Elite. Spartans have more training and used to go into battle without armour for a while.

guys he did not gain the rank of master chief because he was the last surviving spartan he had the rank when he was leader of blue team at the time when he was first mentioned to have the rank, I know this is true I am holding the book "fall of reach" right now and am looking at the page. Besides the fact he is not the last spartan anyways Linda is still alive among a few others and some are MIA and could possibly be alive

@higgey123: He was obviously over-enthusiastic about killing the Arbiter. You don't have to point it out. The Arbiter could've probably beat the shit out of a Spartan in a one on one battle. Spartans, without their power armor, are not as strong as they are with it, either......... Their power armor gives them even more strength and abilities than they originally possessed from genetic engineering.

the remaining 40 were all killed when they tried to jump jet over to a covernant ship and blow it up. Only 3 of them made it.........John, a girl sparton and a boy sparton. The boy sparton volentered to stay behind and check the bomb went off after his armour reseaved damage and couldn't go back out side.......which left only two spartons.

Nobody knows what happened to the lady sparton...........

The first spartons were adult males but the project was closed down after alot of them died of the side-affects. They then tried again, this is when john came in. They kidnapped the candatates and made clone replicas of them that would one day die of natural causes. However backto the serium, there were about 80 sparton children but 40 died of the side effects....

So john took controle as leader and came up with a plan to knock out the guards on the pelican (they made sure who was last on) with stones and then hijack the pelican, so that no body else was blamed or punished john took full responsability and made sure he was the last one on....... : }

naaaah you guys got it wrong, Spartans are geneticly modified humans, the armour gives them no extra stregnth, And also master chief isn't only one with shield, they all have shields but not all use them, look up on the spartan II project on Reach, they are all the same stregnth, and John - 117 - masterchief is only master chief because he is last spartan suvivor. hope this helped! (also did you know that when brutes were first met spartan 117 was almost killed from trying to brawl with one)

umm the spartans all have shields it is a basic MJOLNIR feature for the V and VI models the spartans are the only ones who can handle the MJOLNIR armor due to that fact that it enhances your abilitys to a point where it can kill you if you do not have the genetic augmentation the spartans have

@mario4154 Also the elites in this video were made by ensemble and ensemble doesnt know anything abou the other games. Those elites were supposed to be honor guards but they were blue which means they were minor elites( they lowest rank an elite can be), a minor elite would never be aloud to be an honor guard. There is also the fact that honor guards wouldnt fight with those stick things, they always have a secondary weapon. The sticks r just to look good while they r in a safe place.

the spartan armour is only a boost of their skills. read the book fall of reach. they kill their instructors by accident after their augmentations.

Well, I think a spartan without his armour would still kickass. If you think they don't let there enemy shoot them till the enemy dies do they? No, it's there skills, such as, better aiming and stronger than most marines.
