Uhhh....are we out yet? Has there been a political solution? His 'then what?' question--the FUNDAMENTAL QUESTION OF THIS WHOLE MESS--still not answered. So no, he was absolutely right. Bush is the one who has been wrong, and Iraqis, Americans, and Afghanis (deprived of US military aid) are dead because of it.
He is so right, I am a Marine vet who served in anbar province iraq. That country cannot be stabilized and must be separated by a form of state runed by a weakened central gov. governing the nations essential needs like border and military until its unified. Semper Fi
Biden cant wait until these rants come back to hunt you when you have to go to war with Iran given you get to be president oh yeah you wont be, I cant wait until 2008!!!! It is going to be great for Republicans since now we know where dems stand on deffending this country, lot of rants no action. Cant wait!!
The Biden/Gelb plan has been out there for over a year and we are just getting some buy-in? All these months with the R saying that no one else has a plan? No one else has a plan that they can steal and make their own...is that what people don't like?
Democratic party to coalesce around his plan and articulate as a universal theme!
If you are pragmatic, Biden/Nelson (Great Senator from Florida) would win the day. Al Gore still weeps at night that he didn't select Bob Grahm as his running mate.
At this time in 1991, no one outside of Arkansas had heard of Bill Clinton. Early front runners rarely end up with the nomination unless they are VP's to the current administration. I agree with "Beebandt" that Biden will get his press by doing his job. He is amazing in Senate hearings and we all know there will be lots of those in the coming year. He will get the media and the money as he picks up more national recognition. Money follows the winner!
I used to love Hillary in the nineties. She was very outspoken and had great enthusiastic energy. Now I don't trust her. She talks like the rest of them and she's lost that spontaneous zeal. Now she measures every single word, saying and doing whatever will work for her politically. As for Obama, I don't know. We don't need a "star" - we need a PRESIDENT.
Joe Biden speaks from knowledge and experience, not from a script.
Way to go man...i agree with you..But the media is feeding us Obama and Hilary...they have about 50 million in campaign where is this money coming from??? They are are already bought out...We need to fight the media juggernauts and pass the word our selfs...JOE BIDEN 2008
I became interested in Joe Biden back in 2004 when Kerry was the nominee. I remember thinking "he" should be running for president. He didn't speak in "talking points" and he made complex issues clear and comprehensible. I was watching him on Meet The Press one Sunday and my adult son came in and sat down. He had never seen Biden before and after five minutes, instead of saying "lets watch something interesting" (as he usually did), he said, "Why isn't he running for president?"
no according to his bio he has not served in the military. He does have a Double Major in History/Political Science might be nice to have someone in the WhiteHouse who understands why things happen for a change.
being in the military is not a prerequiste for me... i was just wondering and too lazy to look up his bio, thanks for the info... what we need in my opinion is a person who can handle Domestic needs first and international needs second... the military needs fall in between... thanks again
Did you? Its great to here people criticize those who try, vice doing something themselves. I'm a vet by the way and currently on active duty. You don't have to serve to lead a nation, you only have to understand.
yes i served my nation on several fronts, military and political... i never said one must be in the military to serve as President... i liked BIDEN since the early 90s but this election is the most important in my lifetime and my vote will be well calculated... 90%based on issues 10% based on the persona. By the way thanks for serving this Nation especially during these times... thanks for the bravery of you and your Family...
Biden runs for President by doing his job, using his job as a forum to demonstrate leadership ability. Good move because of the funds he must amass before the real race begins. He is focusing on the vital moves we must make to survive the next year of Bush while the lesser but more evidently talking head favorites are out there showing off. Biden and Richardson are a very good team. Go Joe.
Biden/Richardson? I think that would be an excellent duo! They are both my favorites right now and I think the country is ready for no-nonsense, experienced leaders. I've been watching Biden since the 2004 presidential elections and have felt he is the right person for the job. You don't get the impression that anyone is "handling" him. As CrankyYankee says, he answers questions directly, without annoying political double talk.
I have liked Biden since I saw him on Bill Maher in 2006. He is sane, intelligent and, here's a shock, he actually answers questions directly. I love Hillary and Obama but, when you look at the candidates on substance and grasp of the issues, Biden is hard to beat.
I think Bill Richardson and Joe Biden should be the ticket for 08. What do y'all think? Richardson has a very impressive resume along with Biden, and he's a governor of an impt. battleground state, with Biden as his VP nominee he's got Iraq covered and he's got great domestic credentials. What do y'all think?
As far as I'm concerned Biden is the only man for the job. I don't understand why anyone thinks the inexperienced frontrunners are prepared to handle the mess Bush is leaving us with. While it is good that this country is finally ready to except a female and a black man as viable candidates, we shouldn't overlook the fact that they need to be highly qualified, especially when we are at war. I hope Biden can hold on for the debates. I think he'll blow them out of the water.
You stupid repugs are so brainwashed. War, War, War! the evil in the world is also the evil in our government.

Biden had to drop put of the 1988 presidential campaign because he was caught plagiarizing speeches from then British Labor leader Neil Kinnock.
