I don't know where you were hanging in Korea but the govt statistics and census shows average height is 5'9~11 for guys and 5'5~5'7 for girls. I'm 5'7, 65kg and I'm considered small in Korea. I've not met big pool of Mongolians yet but I've yet come across someone I considered tall or big yet. I live in Singapore and traveled around Asia, believe me, Koreans are not smaller or weaker. North East Asians are generally taller and bigger boned. South East Asians are smaller and thinner boned

it needs more than just better facility. Japan and some other european countries have better facilities and put more money into the program. You also need enough athletics pool of talent in order to excel in that field. After all, athletes are not manufactured but combined with natural athleticism and good program. NBA scouts talents from Africa and Eastern Europe cause they are big and athletic. Korea won more medals than Japan and Europe nation with 1/3rd of population and less money.

I'm making the point to rebut some dudes claim that Korea is the weakest Asian nation in Asia compared to Mongolia. And while Mongolian pop is only 2.7, there are more of you outside in China and Russia.

The reason for that is mostly financial and i don't think we're particularly good at other sports such as gymnastics, swimming or stuff like that. We are good at certain sports like shooting (mostly women), wrestling and boxing. Mongolians don't really pay attention to other sports unfortunately. I don't think Koreans are weak, i think you guys are the closest looking Asians to us. I know there are some pretty nationalistic Mongolians and i don't support them if they're just being nasty.

It’s why Africa doesn’t dominate Basketball, football and so on during the Olympics. Probably u know Anatolian Turks talk lot about shared origin with us yet their genetic structure is closer to greeks. Linguistically they are close with us yet genetically different. Linguistically and culturally they are very close ppl, but genetically while Kyrgyz have predominantly Scythian/Indoeuropean origin, Kazakhs have Mongolian origin.
