1st point: no, most of the children can't think for themselves, when they're brought up being told from the age of 0 that a certain belief is true they will believe in it the same way they believe in actual truths they experience and observe during their first years.
2nd point: not even worth commenting it, he agrees with RD and yes, there's millions of christians who though read the bible they don't obey many things the book says.As Bill Maher said: "You're not a follower, you're just a fan!"
I think the presenter is reading his own anger into Dawkins' words. Has the presenter seen the videos of Dawkins reading his hate mail from Christians such as "I hope you get run over by a church van and die"? Atheists are tired of being bullied by the superstitious. They are tired of them trying to smuggle their superstitious beliefs into laws that govern us all. They are exasperated by them proudly proclaiming their willful ignorance as though it was a virtue.
Right or wrong, many may draw comfort from belief in a benevolent force or forces that know/s the true them fully and well - particularly where they are subject to the unjust actions and opinions or others. Which is probably why the thought of there being no God is not as attractive as some may think.
I guess hes mad (which I dont think he is, or even angry which is alternately a better description) bcuz people r so thick. I think the presenter in this video phrased it best, ie that religion is a simpletons path uninformed by science or reason or intelligence. Further that religion has no absolute proof of a god other than to point out features which may or may not be based on the efforts of a supernatural being such as the grandeur of nature or creation itself or human achievement.
Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.
A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption. Even non-religious people know this.
Homosexual activists, with support from the media, have successfuly framed themselves as noble victims; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.
Dead-to-the-spirit deluded "God Delusion" author & blithering fool scientist goon Richard Dawkins another "leader" given 2 the profane masses is another useful idiot 4 Jesuit machinations
Jesuitical; pertaining to the Jesuits or their principals; designing; cunning; deceitful; prevaricating
The Jesuit Order completely altered the education system 2 suit their Evo-Hoax Agenda to discredit the Bible
Papal Rome cant have their Counter Reformation 2nd Dark Age DESPOTISM until Bible is destroyed
Well with the amount of Christian proselytizers out there telling people to listen or go to hell, its much the same. I am surprised this guy hasn't met too many of them. Christians claim to be in touch with the creator of the universe yet have no evidence for it. Listening to these people make massive, contradictory claims yet without any ability to back it up can tend to grind on you. The fact that its widely accepted or even GOOD to do this is what really drives non believers crazy.
It's not an unfair attack on religion. It points out some of the most obvious examples out of the other hundreds of atrocious things that are there for the picking. Richard Dawkins gives us knowledge, and the biases his books have are because religion is just stupid to very core. "Christianity is the most perverted system to have ever shone upon man." -Thomas Jefferson.
You sir, are indeed an amateur. You make a video about a man who seeks to assist and brighten the future generations.
angry? i thought he just wanted to question religion, is that a crime? ¬¬ oh yeah, because is sacred, and blah blah blah..........what a nice security blanket is that sacred word for religion......"don't question it, just do as it says" give me a break......
IMHO children shouldn't be tought any Religion at all. I'm not saying that they should be tought to be Atheists, they should rather be told the different point of views of believers and atheists. After that it's up to them wether they believe in or reject a god.
This man doesn't know any christians who want to lord it over others? What planet does he live on? The impatience atheists have with religion is that they have to swim in a world full of it, a world that kowtows to it out of fear of being ostracised. No, atheists are just standing up for an equal place in society and religion is scared to death of it. Can this man truly say he is being intellectually honest and not just defending dogma most of the time?
Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.
A person does not need religion, hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important, qualitative differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption.
Homosexual activists, with complete support from the media, have succeeded at framing themselves as noble victims and martyrs; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.
"Love the Lord God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself", "Love your enemy" and "Pray for those who curse you" These are the laws we go by, this is how we are suppose to act. Christians are nothing but peaceful, if we don't try and act this way then we are not real Christians. For those of you who hate us please leave us alone! Why put down our belief. Why not be peaceful?
If you a terrified by the idea of atheism, then I would suggest that you are living in a world of "ought" and not looking for what is. Religion is about seeking truth, is it not? To suppose that there must be a God because it is too terrifying for there not to be, is like a child who thinks they should stay close to mommy because they are afraid of monsters in the dark. This is at once wise and foolish. A true believer would not be terrified that God may not really exist. It is a contradiction.
A true atheist would not feel the need to make a hypocritical ass of himself by proselytizing atheism. To male believe that God doesn't exist just so that you can go on doing whatever you want whever you want without having to be held accountible for anything you do is the epitome of childishness.
A Christian playing amateur psychologist? If only the vatican did that instead of giving schizophrenics and people suffering from psychosis exorcisms.
masiqundis YOU CAN THANK THE GOD OF THIS WORLD FOR THE TORTURE PART. HE IS LUCIFER, AND HE WILL SEND YOU THERE. JESUS CAME TO RESCUE HIS "SHILDREN " FROM THIS TORTURE! HE BROKE THE CHAIN BY DYING THE TORTURE AND DEFEATING THE POWER OF LUCIFER. THERE ARE BUT TWO CERTAINTIES. DEATH AND HELL OR HEAVEN AND LIFE. IT'S YOUR CHOICE NOT GOD'S! HE IS PURE WE ARE NOT THEY DON'T MIX. KOOL AID WITHOUT SUGAR IS NOT KOOLAID. MAN WITHOUT SPIRITUAL LIFE IS CARNAL WILL RETURN TO DUST. REPENT JESUS COMES SOON!
evidenceonlythanks I AGREE WITH YOU WHOLEHEARTEDLY! IMA CHRISTIAN, AND THE MYSTERY IS THAT JESUS HATES THE RELIGIOUS! HE WILL REMOVE RELIGION VERY SOON, FOR HE IS COMING, YOU WILL SEE HIS FACE, AND JUST THE SIGHT OF HIM WILL KILL YOU. HE IS A SOVEREIGN GOD. HE IS PURE AND HOLY! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, TO MOCK THE GOD OF ALL CREATION? DO YOU THINK THERE WILL BE NO RETRIBUTION? REPENT B42LATE, YOU WILL SEE HIM SOON. THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM MY FATHER TO YOU-PERSONALLY! MARK MY WORDS #1 SINS PRIDE
@tapiola2007 I WOULD RATHER BE A MORON IN HEAVEN, CAUSE IT WOULD FAR SURPASS ANYTHING THAT NATURAL MEN CAN DO.CAN YOU SPEAK INTELLIGENTLY, SO THAT YOU MAY NOT MAKE A MORON OUT OF YOURSELF? OR DO YOU HAVE NO MEANS OF EXPRESSING YOURSELF WITHOUT SOUNDING LIKE AN ILLITERATE SAVAGE? ARE YOU EDUCATED IN THE USAGE OF VERNACULAR GRAMMAR? THE WORD FUCKING IS A DISGRACE TO YOU. YOU DISGRACE YOURSELF. SOUND LIKE A DULLARD. JESUS CAN SAVE YOU, SEE WHO YOU REALLY ARE. REPENT BEFORE 2 LATE. HE'S COMING SOON.
CHILDREN THINKING FOR THEMSELVES? you are joking right? tell me this is a joke.
sorry but your logic circuits fail miserably mister.Rejecting religion at the age of 9 is a statistic anomaly. What is not an anomaly is children IN ALL OVER THE WORLD being indoctrinated to bullshit dogma of each random country they happened to be born in and staying with it for the rest of their lives. If you seriously fail to recognise this situation you are living in another reality. Jesus camp maybe
To paraphrase Hitchens: It is not so much anger as it is impatience. In an age where there is so much to learn and discover, it diminishes all of us that so many are scientifically illiterate and prepared to stop thinking and asking new questions. The progress of our sorry species ends when we are satisfied with simplistic mythology and naive explanations. Does it hurt so much to think? The mind of a slave...Tell me what I must do, cannot do and what to believe.
you could be very progressive and sophisticated and yet be Christian. You cannot be a vehement Dawkins type of atheist and have not pandered to emotions which lead you away from reason and thence dumb you down..
He makes a lot of atheists think themselves very bright whereas actually when examined closely they tend to be very shallow and unfair in their understanding and portraiture of God.
Usually comments are disabled on this type of christian propaganda, so we are very progressive today, aren't we? I understand why Dick is angry with you guys, the sheer intrusion and control with the lives of normal unafflicted people has been excempt from criticism for too long. Time to oppose and call ignorance by its proper colour. In fact in most normal people it is not so much anger as it is impatience.
That's not what Camus was on about at all, why you make reference to him I have no idea. Also, who said Dawkins is angry? He doesn't come accross as angry to me.
most people in prison believe in god... rapist, murderers, etc etc.. there are very clearly violent disturbing versus in the bible that we as a society should never even THINK of following. stoning children, women... killing witches... killing people for trying to convince you that god isn't real. killing women for being raped. etc etc. that should lay to rest the argument that christians, if they follow the bible have nothing but compassion and thankfulness to god.
I think Dawkins is angry because of the atrocities religion has commited, is commiting and will commit. I don't think any non-religious groups would be allowed to mutilate young boys' genetalia or indoctrinate young children through fear. How many lives have been lost in the name of religion?
Modern humans driven by self-serving emotional delusions, and not by rational truth seeking are a group who given the power would shoot us straight back to the dark years of inquisition. Couldn't happen in the modern world? Think Afganistan. Think TALIBAN. Then ask again. Couldn't happen in the modern world ? We should not turn a blind eye to the religiously afflicted lying to themselves and others. We should remove religion before it gets another chance of raising it's ugly head.
This guy kept chiding Dawkins for his aggressiveness, but never actually explained how that aggressiveness was unreasonable. Dawkin's whole premise, addressing the supposes "weight of his claim, is that no "weight" need be felt in the assumption that there is no God, by great writers and commoners alike. That's the whole POINT. This guy deserves a Gold Medal in the "Feelgood Platitudes" Department.
We feel disgusted by religion because it is disgusting---all on its own. How couldn't we be angry at peoples' refusal to accept evidence and believe in irrationality. Fuck religious ignorance, arrogance, and close-mindedness.
The orbiting teapot is a dodge created specifically to divert the discussion away from the logical probability for these characteristics of a creator for the universe, by comparing with a completely improbable imaginary ruse. As a dodge, an avoidance mechanism, it is a fallacy which is known as the Red Herring Fallacy. In a sense it is related to the Category Error Fallacy, also.

I can think of loads of things to think of that is more important than the "quest to find god." Like my next nap for instance.
To me finally understanding the importance of being a skeptic was like waking up only to discover that everyone believes fairy are real. The idea of the supernatural as something that is part of reality only strikes me as very odd now days. Critical thinking helped me realize how incredible the world actually is, something religion never could do. And it IS liberating!
Dawkins is always frustrated, but rarely angry. In interviews with creationists, it is invariably the creationists who lose the plot and are unable to deal with their beliefs being questioned.
This video is fucking aweful. Richard Dawkins isnt angry. For educated and intellegent people it is frustrating that there are so many fairy tale believers. This guy must not have read the book, but merely googled it. I love when bible thumping morons talk about intellegence as if its unimportant.
It took me 3 LONG stressful years to deconvert from a Born Again Christian to an atheist... to an anti-theist. (Which is a bit of a misleading term as I'm not against religious people... I'm only against their religion.)
The fear of "hell" was the most difficult obstacle for me to mentally and emotionally over come and I can see MANY people never being able to cross that "threshold".
It takes a lot of courage to do that IMO.
So... no... children should NOT be indoctrinated with this poison.
If I hadn't guessed from a biology teacher who proclaimed that "the enzyme has became denatured", this guy proves to me that you don't have to be intelligent to get a doctorate. He is painfully smug despite understanding next to nothing of the feeling behind Dawkins' magnificent book, let alone the actual arguments. This video has gaping holes in it, to put it mildly.
The conclusion was a complete cop out. He says he's on a journey to discovering god, but he already admitted he knows who god is and what his plan for the world is. A claim to knowldege he can't possibly have. Oh, and go watch Jesus Camp and then tell us that children have a fair chance to get through indoctrination. Typical delusional BS!
@Tapiola2007 THE REAL GOD JESUS IS NOYTRELIGIOUS! ONLY A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM IS WHAT MATTERS. JESUS CAMP IS A SET UP BY SATANIST ATHIESTS, LIKE DAWKINS TO MAKE A DUPE OUT OF YOU. MANY "RELIGIOUS" "CHRISTIANS" ARE DUPES TOO THANKS TO THE 501 C3 CHURCHES. GODS WORD IS HIS WORD. ONLY REPENTANCE AND HUMILITY TOWARDS A GREAT AND SOVEREIGN GOD WILL DO. HE MADE US FOR HIS PURPOSE, NOT OURS. HE DECIDES HEAVEN OF HELL. GET IT?
@godwithme777 No, I don't get it. I can't understand why people like you prefer to live in a delusional world rather than take responsibility and face up to reality. You're clearly far too gone to make any impression on!
"There is no Hubris in being a christian"! LOL! That's hilarious! The sheer scale of Religion's fake modesty is mind numbing! "I'm going to be saved and live forever in paradise because MY God is the only one true God and if you don't believe it, you're going to Hell!" What is modest about that?
I can think of a lot A LOT of things that are more important to think about than whether there is a god worth believing in!! How about how to reduce the suffering and misery other HUMANS are going through HERE ON EARTH!
this guy is an idiot. he basically admits that the only reason he believes in god is because the alternative is too scary for him. what kind of reasoning is that. i too am terrified of death, but my fear will not alter my perception of reality.
A: His fear and denial leads to his insecurities that he might actually be wrong. Also, his arrogance. Yes, he is smart, but not rational. To be angry at something so strongly indicates some kind of faith that he does have but wants to deny it, and is so set on being right.
@Bllackguard666 I really doubt professor Dawkins is angry at all with any religion, well maybe he is a bit hostile with the islamist fanatics who kill women on the streets but i guess i get that, you speak of fear though isnt the main theme of religion fear for death? Denial means knowing something is true and just looking the other way pretending its not, im not much of a religious person myself, i rly want there to be a god but i wont close my eyes out of fear for death and live in denial.
@Bllackguard666 I'm pretty sure Dawkins would admit defeat and believe in god if you could only provide him with sufficient evidence of the existence of said deity.
I think I can understand better why RD is angry. Stupidity provokes me as well.
@MsSegundus Prove God doesn't exist. Carbon dating has already been proven flawed, there is no solid evidence of any standing for evolution, and, recently they have proven fossils and canyons were the signs of great floods. Not "evolution". But, stick to what you think, because it's the easy path.
@Bllackguard666 It'd a good job carbon dating is only one of several methods of dating the Earth then, isn't it. Denying the age of the Earth is like denying that that the Earth goes round the Sun; utter madness. Actually, the church used to persecute anyone who dared say the Earth wasn't the centre of the universe. :-S And you say that daring to challenge the church is the easy path? Get a grip, man!
3. Of course evolution doesn’t explain how canyons came to be, but geology does. Evolution explains how the diversity of life came to be. What is doesn’t explain is the origin of the universe, or life, or canyons as you seam to think. For that you have to go to other branches of science.
4. FYI. Geology provides primary evidence for evolution.
1. The burden of proof is on theists. I’m atheist not because I have proof of god not existence, (neither can I prove the non-existence of invisible pixies,) but because no one can prove to me that god does exist.
2. Carbon dating might be flawed, but we are constantly seeking out way to improve our techniques to pinpoint how old different things are. The best thing about science is that it’s able to admit it doesn’t know everything.
5. Thank you from the bottom of my hear for the condescending message you put on my profile. I truly appreciate it. No really! It’s so good to know your faith has made you into such a nice person. May His Noodly Appendage bless you with His Touch.
@MsSegundus The fact that you have to share that on here, shows you're not far from you say about me. Touche. Figured you'd take the bait. Like the Staples button says: "That was easy".
@MsSegundus You know what's funny? How you don't want to follow a religion or a God, but yet you follow Dawkins and go along with his "flying spaghetti monster". Sounds like a religion to me.
Rule #465 for trolls: If you can’t refute your opponents arguments, change the subject or insult them.
This, my friend, is what YOU did when you ignored my first four points to what you said about carbonating and evolution. You turned personal and tried to irritate me by mooching me for “having my feelings hurt.” I’m just returning the favour.
Still waiting for the rebuttals for my first 4 points.
@MsSegundus Well, I have refuted and proven my points about God and proof that Jesus did walk and was crucified, and the Shroud of Turin and the archives still intact, describing Jesus, son of Christ. Your mockery of me and my points is not doing you any justice. Your argument is void. It is the wonderful thrusting of a spear that ultimately has no point. You are not upsetting me, I actually feel sad for you.
@MsSegundus Typical. Dodge and duck the subject and don't support or refute your reasoning. I expected this type of response, they are common. So, this is how you support your atheism? Calling names, dodging the questions and topic, and making ad homi'emns to the other debater? Great tactic.
No. You are the one who is avoiding answering me. Just to get us back on track I’ll post my points one more time and see what you make of it. I’ll leave out point 5, because it doesn’t really have anything to do with this.
1. The burden of proof is on theists. I’m atheist not because I have proof of god not existence, (neither can I prove the non-existence of invisible pixies,) but because no one can prove to me that god does exist.
@Bllackguard666 2. Carbon dating might be flawed, but we are constantly seeking out way to improve our techniques to pinpoint how old different things are. The best thing about science is that it’s able to admit it doesn’t know everything.
@Bllackguard666 3. Of course evolution doesn’t explain how canyons came to be, but geology does. Evolution explains how the diversity of life came to be. What is doesn’t explain is the origin of the universe, or life, or canyons as you seam to think. For that you have to go to other branches of science.
@MsSegundus So you cannot explain where or how life all began. Do you deny that it had an intelligent design? So, if evolution cannot explain any origin, how can you say it proves life changing from the first form to the next? If you cannot explain the origin, you cannot explain the follow up.
@Bllackguard666 The beginning of life and evolution of life are two different things. Again evolution is about how life evolves. The origin could not be explained by mutations in genes as there would be no genes to mutate. As far as I know how life started has not yet been discovered. That does not mean you can explain it by saying a magic man in the sky did it. That’s what we call an argument from ignorance. The right thing to say would be we don't know, but we're working on it.
@MsSegundus So, science can't explain the origins of the universe, or why it's such an intelligent and planned design. In order to explain how an organism mutated, you have to know what it mutated from, otherwise, how did it mutate? How do you know what you found scientifically isn't the origin species? You say my relationship with God is of ignorance, well since science can't prove anything, we're in the same boat, I guess. I know there are records of Jesus living. I see what God has created.
@Bllackguard666 Out of all the human beings that have ever lived (100 billion) about half of them died from as children. Most of them form illness. I call that unintelligent design when microscopic creatures can so easily kill us. Only after we got the medicine to fix this did the death rate go down. The knowledge of evolution is crucial in the fight against decease, because bacteria evolve much faster than we do.
Answer me this. How can you prove that your parents are your real parents?
@MsSegundus A. Your population number is laughably off. B. The human DNA is made up of hydrogen bonds, not covalent, making our bonds the weakest on purpose. That is why we suffer diseases easier, and keep in mind, man created most of our diseases by poor sanitation, STD's, lack of medical knowledge, etc; that lead up to today. Our hydrogen bonds were made so we could change and adapt our immune systems to diseases. However, radiation, pollution etc, made worse. Man is being unintelligent.
@Bllackguard666 Actually, anywhere you look it up people estimate that the number is around 100 billion, but seeing as you believe that the world is 6000 years old I can see why we might. It also might be difficult for you to understand that disease existed long before humans so it can not be man made.
Why did your god make us this unperfected and unintelligent then?
@MsSegundus Everything you say, each time tells us you never even read a page in the Bible. Your questions could be answered in Matthew, Timothy, and even Genesis. Another atheist supporting themselves: Estimates, theories, ideas. But no proof. So, if God didn't make this intelligent design that man screwed up, who or what did?
I felt you last question was too ridiculous to answer.
@Bllackguard666 If your god is all-knowing he knew that in creating me he would automatically send me to hell because he must have known I would choose to commit the unforgivable sin of speaking against the holy spirit. If he couldn’t foresee that he can’t be all-knowing. Right? According to you he wants to punish me for simply being what he made me. Dumb and sinful.
Do you really think I deserve eternal torment for being unable to agree with you?
@MsSegundus It's not me to answer that. It's God's place, who sent His son down to teach people and was killed for the weight of OUR sins. That's love for us, love for the world. All He asks for in return is to give your heart and love to Him. That's all. If you refuse, of course you are not welcome in His Heaven.
@Bllackguard666 Can you at least try to act as if you have a mind of your own. I didn’t ask if it’s in your place to send me to hell but specifically if YOU THINK I deserve it.
@MsSegundus We are all children of God. And in the word of God, it is not our place to judge others on their sins, beliefs, or their fate. I cannot provide that answer and will not. I do believe that you do have the spirit of God in you and in all of us, being that He made us in His liking. We do not give up our own minds upon accepting God as our personal saviors.
My personal opinion is that you should read the Bible and ask God that. One thing I will say: For the wages of sin is death.
@Bllackguard666 A good being would never punish you for stating your own opinion in any matter whether it's your place or not.
Ok, then answer me this: Say you have a kid that you love more than anything. One day that kid tells you he doesn’t love you anymore an has reason to believe or has sincere doubts about you being it’s parent.
Do you build a torture chamber in your basement where you leave your child to suffer for the rest of his life? Do you threaten him with physical pain to love you?
@MsSegundus Now, you're being ridiculous. It's hard to read this with a straight face, really. Since you refuse to accept a simple answer, this will be my last reply. It is not anyone's place to place God's judgement on another person, since we are not God. That is His place, not ours to make. And no, I would never torture another person. It's YOUR conscience choice to accept God or not. To not accept Him is to give up eternal life in Heaven. Why should you benefit from Heaven if you reject Him?
@Bllackguard666 Again, your god must have known I would make this choice because he is all-knowing. Therefore he made me only for the purpose of sending me to hell.
Anyway, that was all I needed. But know this, I would never wish such a fait on you or anyone and I deeply resent that according to you that will happen to my loved ones. Letting someone be tortured for eternity is cruel and vile ESPECIALLY for a god that has the power to stop it. To be forced to worship such a being disgusts me.
@MsSegundus This will be my final reply, since you are stuck on your lack of listening to reason.
So, you are saying that your decision to NOT accept God is not something you can change? That God put you up to the test, and YOU are the one who drifted away from Him. He did not reject you. Once again: If you go to Hell, that was a result of YOUR choice NOT to accept God as your savior. It is not God just sending you to Hell for no reason. Your statements prove you don't know much of God.
@Bllackguard666 That choice you say your god is giving me is an illusion. It’s not a choice if the option is the threat of eternal torture. That’s tyranny. Plain and simple!
@Bllackguard666 And you did not answer my question about gods right to torture me. You avoided it by giving me an explanation you know I can not accept because there was never any evidence to support the clame that there is a god and we should be his humble servants for ever.
If people are saying that Dawkins is angry, they obviously haven't read anything he has written, seen any of his interviews or seen any of his talks/lectures.
Richard Dawkins does not hate religious people. Public Christianity is like walking around in a chicken suite. You're gonna get funny looks, cause you're crazy.
Indeed, morality does come from evolution. There wouldn't be morality in human cultures if it wasn't beneficial... either biologically or culturally. Either way evolution played a part.
Dawkin's doesn't hate religious people, idiot, he argues against religous belief because it does harm.
Further, educating children in how to think about what is true is the surest way to create an atehist, the breeding grounds of religious belief are the innocent and ignorants minds of children who will generally believe any nonsense fed to them by people they trust (parents) if it is taught as truth.
@benbonewilly So compelling !! I see now the error of my ways and repent my thinking it's better to love this life than live in fear and shame...
Did you even read the book? Or did you just read the "good" parts? The pretty parts that do point out all the good there can be while ignoring the stoning, slaughter, rape, theft, destruction, and jealousy of the "loving" God of the Bible?
What I present isn't easy, but it is real. True love teaches, it does not burn it's children in hell.
well i think its a breth of fresh air to see a christan talking about these subjects and not makeing alot of mistakes and for most if it i agree with you
but i think most atheists aren't sad like dawkins and me i enjoy lifeand im not despresed about no after life
but i think the main reson why dawkins hates atheism is that most kids acept reliogens it' s the minority that dont and also all the wars reliogen has cased like the crusades and 9/11
God will never open himself up to those who continue to have evil and hatred in their hearts toward others, especially when unprovoked or relating to the sacred belief of another. This is why they cannot understand nor perceive the intellectual wisdom value of God's perfection, nor will they ever know their true self potential.
To know and understand God, is in fact, to know your true self and the fullness of perfect love, compassion, peace, happiness, understanding, wisdom and knowledge.
@Acecool444 There are no "sacred beliefs". There are only beliefs, and they can be wrong. A Muslim has different "sacred beliefs" than a Christian, so one (or both) must be wrong.
Anger toward religion is not unprovoked. Most religions teach children to be ashamed of what they are and threatens them will eternal torture if they question religion. This is psychological abuse, and it is evil.
God is indeed your true self. No more, no less. All attributes you describe are human feelings.
@TheWeizOne You generalize when speaking, therefore, your opinions carry with it absolutely no merit or credence. We do not Murder for fear of life long imprisonment, a form of torture, but do not classify it as evil or abuse. God also gave laws to abide.
I for one, allow my children to make up their own minds, unlike Evolution being forcibly taught in our schools, I also provide The Gospel of Christ and the wisdom found therein as a philosophical view, rather than just science based theory's.
@Acecool444 I generalize because it is an accurate representation of reality. You clearly are not interested in reality. As for the murder argument; If you do evil and you will be prevented from doing it again by man made justice system. With God, he request I be brought before God and killed (Luke 19:27). I should be killed because I don't want to have to stone a woman to death (John 8:05)? Or beat my children to save them from hell (Prov 23:13-14)?
@TheWeizOne "Luke 19-27?" is a parable, but likewise, God is greater than all Kings, and not to serve him, he who gave you life, has the right to also take that life.
"John 8:5?" Another parable, "He who has not sinned, let them cast the first stone"...No one was supposed to Killed anyone! Read John 8: 1-11 and get the full meaning.
@TheWeizOne "Most religions teach children to be ashamed of what they are and threatens them will eternal torture if they question religion. This is psychological abuse, and it is evil."
Again, Generalizing! I do not speak of "MOST RELIGIONS", as my true religion rests in the belief found in James 1:27
My Belief is Sacred and any man teaching differently will be held accountable. Nor does my Belief teach my children to be ashamed of themselves should they question God.
@Acecool444 The Bible promotes the idea of original sin. Be ashamed of yourself because you're human (imperfect), and someone you've never met did a bad thing and you have to pay for it. If you don't accept Jesus, you'll go to hell. Is the Bible the word of God or isn't it? If *you* are deciding what to follow in the book, then it isn't "true", it's only your own spin on it.
Your belief is not sacred. It is only a belief. It's not even a belief based on the bible. It is wrong either way.
@TheWeizOne If God hadn't wiped out the many who refused to follow his commands in earlier times, imagine the evil that would prevail today.
We all love a good movie when the Good King wins against evil tyrants and then makes slaves or forced virgin marriages out of the survivors, but if God is behind it, you call him an Evil and Terrible God.
It's obvious to most, those who refuse to believe in God or Jesus, are doing so only to live according to their own perverse or evil lifestyles.
Do we really need to further this pathetic "atheists are angry" cliché? A lot of what religious people do and say, is sufficient to make a non-religious person angry. Anything else is a matter of personality. I don't care if some atheist is "angry", as long as he makes sense.
At the end of this video, you fall into the PATHETIC trapdoor of suggesting how "empty" and "morally relative" everything would be without God.
You're not some "believer". You're a CHRISTIAN. You should know perfectly...
that this version of God stands neither for absolute morality, nor goodness, nor comfort.
If you're on a "quest" to find a "God worthy of worship", then your first step should be discarding Christianity (or, you know, reshaping it according to your preferences).
I don't really care for Dawkins, or really much of the other crowd. Dawkins gets to the point almost roundabout in his book. I don't want anecdote from childhood, or political understanding, I just want the facts, and then the conclusions that inductively follow from those facts with the smallest margin of error possible. We don't need all that crap to get to a similar point.
@GsliMaIiy There has been 2000 years to make the story of Jesus fit any prophecy, and since when is I AM regarded as any legitimate argument for anything? If I said I AM the best refuter of religious dogma in the world, would you take my word for it? Would any court set a suspect free just because he says I AM innocent? You need to understand that what people has written in the bible cannot be used as evidence for anything. Any proof that Jesus existed only proves that 2000 yrs ago a dude lived.
You don't need a belief system in irrational things....
Might I remind you that the golden rule is not christian, it was born in chineese phylosophy and is several times older that the birth of the so-called christ.
Dr. Greg Clarke, you can view Dawkins as a representative, a thermometer of the portion humanity which is fed-up with hypocritical medieval BS that is the Abrahamic religions and several others...
Well, i think it has to do with the idea of Absolutes, the philosophy of the bible is based on absultes, and truth is an absolute according to Jesus too. There are many religions that doenst deal with the eteninty and only deal with doing good and avoid evil, but Christinanity is based more on the afterlife, ethernal death or ethernal life. GodBless
I know a reason christians should be mad....look at the ratings. every video that I see where christians attack atheists reasoning, their ratings either suck, or they just don't show them anymore at all cuz they're so low...
I always laugh at theists who criticize atheist reasoning,in rejecting god, by stating they haven't enough knowledge of "theology" (which is essentially an understanding of a particular dogma or what "believers think it's canon actually says or means )
It's the very same as saying I have no right to call the "DC" comics fiction, because I haven't read them all!!
Dawkins is angry because he is seeing stupidity taking over the world. He is a scientist who is seeing science undermined by ignorant and malicious people. He is seeing freedom and democracy undermined by religious zealotry.
@DastardlyDawkins No, they weren't. The nazis wanted to put a scientific face on their monstrosity without any of the actual rigors of science. It wasn't based on any science at all.
By comparing Dawkins to the nazis, you effectively admit that you have no argument and are an idiot. Thanks for making that clear.
"One of the things Hitler has to answer for is that after Hitler, certain things can never be discussed in an objective fashion, and Eugenics is one of them." - Richard 'Dr Death' Dawkins
@DastardlyDawkins You're a fucking moron. Just stop. Spouting your Christian bullshit just makes me think you're trying to resurrect the days of the Inquisition(s) and every other shitty things done in the name of religious bigotry.
Yeah, i'm sure you'd like nothing more than to shut me up, because the truth has the power to do untold damages your public image, and of course, the truth hurts.
"We are the joyous Dawkins youth,
We do not need any Christian virtue
Our leader is our savior
The Pope and Rabbi shall be gone
We want to be pagans once again.” - Admit it, this is music to your ears, isn't it?
In fact, this little ditty could well be the next anthem of the New Atheist movement, it fits like a glove!
@DastardlyDawkins What's your point? None of what you just said sounds bad to me at all. I'd rather choke on a dick and die than be subject to your shitty, fascist, retard church.
1) Yes, and I agree that concentration camps were bad. But I think you underestimate the Jews. I mean, come on, some escaped, didn't they?
2) Professor Dawkins was responding to claims that without God you cannot be moral.
3) Professor Dawkins is an evolutionary biologist and does not pretend to be an expert in anything else. I apologize on his behalf if he sounded too smart for you. It seems in the end you were appealing to emotion and then to authority, which are in this case logical fallacies
hi knowthelight. Thanks for illustrating my point so thoroughly, that there's always some sanctimonious self pious god botherer out there ready to come up with some Ambiguous quote to try to demonstrate there moral superiority.
For many of these atheists, ther atheism is almost a religion!

Why not be peaceful?
TheNikko88 4 months ago
If you a terrified by the idea of atheism, then I would suggest that you are living in a world of "ought" and not looking for what is. Religion is about seeking truth, is it not? To suppose that there must be a God because it is too terrifying for there not to be, is like a child who thinks they should stay close to mommy because they are afraid of monsters in the dark. This is at once wise and foolish. A true believer would not be terrified that God may not really exist. It is a contradiction.

Q: Why is Richard Dawkins angry?
A: His fear and denial leads to his insecurities that he might actually be wrong. Also, his arrogance. Yes, he is smart, but not rational. To be angry at something so strongly indicates some kind of faith that he does have but wants to deny it, and is so set on being right.
Bllackguard666 8 months ago
@Bllackguard666 I really doubt professor Dawkins is angry at all with any religion, well maybe he is a bit hostile with the islamist fanatics who kill women on the streets but i guess i get that, you speak of fear though isnt the main theme of religion fear for death? Denial means knowing something is true and just looking the other way pretending its not, im not much of a religious person myself, i rly want there to be a god but i wont close my eyes out of fear for death and live in denial.

@MsSegundus Prove God doesn't exist. Carbon dating has already been proven flawed, there is no solid evidence of any standing for evolution, and, recently they have proven fossils and canyons were the signs of great floods. Not "evolution". But, stick to what you think, because it's the easy path.
Bllackguard666 5 months ago
@Bllackguard666 It'd a good job carbon dating is only one of several methods of dating the Earth then, isn't it. Denying the age of the Earth is like denying that that the Earth goes round the Sun; utter madness. Actually, the church used to persecute anyone who dared say the Earth wasn't the centre of the universe. :-S And you say that daring to challenge the church is the easy path? Get a grip, man!
ShizuokaDolphin 5 months ago

MsSegundus 5 months ago

MsSegundus 5 months ago
@Bllackguard666 2. Carbon dating might be flawed, but we are constantly seeking out way to improve our techniques to pinpoint how old different things are. The best thing about science is that it’s able to admit it doesn’t know everything.
MsSegundus 5 months ago
@Bllackguard666 3. Of course evolution doesn’t explain how canyons came to be, but geology does. Evolution explains how the diversity of life came to be. What is doesn’t explain is the origin of the universe, or life, or canyons as you seam to think. For that you have to go to other branches of science.
MsSegundus 5 months ago
@MsSegundus So you cannot explain where or how life all began. Do you deny that it had an intelligent design? So, if evolution cannot explain any origin, how can you say it proves life changing from the first form to the next? If you cannot explain the origin, you cannot explain the follow up.
Bllackguard666 5 months ago
@Bllackguard666 The beginning of life and evolution of life are two different things. Again evolution is about how life evolves. The origin could not be explained by mutations in genes as there would be no genes to mutate. As far as I know how life started has not yet been discovered. That does not mean you can explain it by saying a magic man in the sky did it. That’s what we call an argument from ignorance. The right thing to say would be we don't know, but we're working on it.
MsSegundus 5 months ago
@MsSegundus So, science can't explain the origins of the universe, or why it's such an intelligent and planned design. In order to explain how an organism mutated, you have to know what it mutated from, otherwise, how did it mutate? How do you know what you found scientifically isn't the origin species? You say my relationship with God is of ignorance, well since science can't prove anything, we're in the same boat, I guess. I know there are records of Jesus living. I see what God has created.
Bllackguard666 5 months ago
@Bllackguard666 Out of all the human beings that have ever lived (100 billion) about half of them died from as children. Most of them form illness. I call that unintelligent design when microscopic creatures can so easily kill us. Only after we got the medicine to fix this did the death rate go down. The knowledge of evolution is crucial in the fight against decease, because bacteria evolve much faster than we do.
Answer me this. How can you prove that your parents are your real parents?
MsSegundus 5 months ago
@MsSegundus A. Your population number is laughably off. B. The human DNA is made up of hydrogen bonds, not covalent, making our bonds the weakest on purpose. That is why we suffer diseases easier, and keep in mind, man created most of our diseases by poor sanitation, STD's, lack of medical knowledge, etc; that lead up to today. Our hydrogen bonds were made so we could change and adapt our immune systems to diseases. However, radiation, pollution etc, made worse. Man is being unintelligent.
Bllackguard666 5 months ago
@Bllackguard666 Actually, anywhere you look it up people estimate that the number is around 100 billion, but seeing as you believe that the world is 6000 years old I can see why we might. It also might be difficult for you to understand that disease existed long before humans so it can not be man made.
Why did your god make us this unperfected and unintelligent then?
And why did you not answer my last question?
MsSegundus 5 months ago
@MsSegundus Everything you say, each time tells us you never even read a page in the Bible. Your questions could be answered in Matthew, Timothy, and even Genesis. Another atheist supporting themselves: Estimates, theories, ideas. But no proof. So, if God didn't make this intelligent design that man screwed up, who or what did?
I felt you last question was too ridiculous to answer.
Bllackguard666 5 months ago
@Bllackguard666 If your god is all-knowing he knew that in creating me he would automatically send me to hell because he must have known I would choose to commit the unforgivable sin of speaking against the holy spirit. If he couldn’t foresee that he can’t be all-knowing. Right? According to you he wants to punish me for simply being what he made me. Dumb and sinful.
Do you really think I deserve eternal torment for being unable to agree with you?
MsSegundus 5 months ago
@MsSegundus Like the Tree of Good and Evil, it's all a test, darlin'. You just failed most of yours.
Bllackguard666 5 months ago
@Bllackguard666 Just answer the question. Do YOU PERSONALLY think I deserve eternal torment for not agreeing with you? A simple yes or no will do.
MsSegundus 5 months ago
@MsSegundus It's not me to answer that. It's God's place, who sent His son down to teach people and was killed for the weight of OUR sins. That's love for us, love for the world. All He asks for in return is to give your heart and love to Him. That's all. If you refuse, of course you are not welcome in His Heaven.
Bllackguard666 5 months ago
@Bllackguard666 Can you at least try to act as if you have a mind of your own. I didn’t ask if it’s in your place to send me to hell but specifically if YOU THINK I deserve it.
Do I deserve hell in YOUR opinion? Yes or no?
MsSegundus 5 months ago
@MsSegundus We are all children of God. And in the word of God, it is not our place to judge others on their sins, beliefs, or their fate. I cannot provide that answer and will not. I do believe that you do have the spirit of God in you and in all of us, being that He made us in His liking. We do not give up our own minds upon accepting God as our personal saviors.
My personal opinion is that you should read the Bible and ask God that. One thing I will say: For the wages of sin is death.
Bllackguard666 5 months ago
@Bllackguard666 A good being would never punish you for stating your own opinion in any matter whether it's your place or not.
Ok, then answer me this: Say you have a kid that you love more than anything. One day that kid tells you he doesn’t love you anymore an has reason to believe or has sincere doubts about you being it’s parent.
Do you build a torture chamber in your basement where you leave your child to suffer for the rest of his life? Do you threaten him with physical pain to love you?
MsSegundus 5 months ago
@MsSegundus Now, you're being ridiculous. It's hard to read this with a straight face, really. Since you refuse to accept a simple answer, this will be my last reply. It is not anyone's place to place God's judgement on another person, since we are not God. That is His place, not ours to make. And no, I would never torture another person. It's YOUR conscience choice to accept God or not. To not accept Him is to give up eternal life in Heaven. Why should you benefit from Heaven if you reject Him?
Bllackguard666 5 months ago
@Bllackguard666 Again, your god must have known I would make this choice because he is all-knowing. Therefore he made me only for the purpose of sending me to hell.
Anyway, that was all I needed. But know this, I would never wish such a fait on you or anyone and I deeply resent that according to you that will happen to my loved ones. Letting someone be tortured for eternity is cruel and vile ESPECIALLY for a god that has the power to stop it. To be forced to worship such a being disgusts me.
MsSegundus 5 months ago
@MsSegundus This will be my final reply, since you are stuck on your lack of listening to reason.
So, you are saying that your decision to NOT accept God is not something you can change? That God put you up to the test, and YOU are the one who drifted away from Him. He did not reject you. Once again: If you go to Hell, that was a result of YOUR choice NOT to accept God as your savior. It is not God just sending you to Hell for no reason. Your statements prove you don't know much of God.
Bllackguard666 5 months ago
@Bllackguard666 That choice you say your god is giving me is an illusion. It’s not a choice if the option is the threat of eternal torture. That’s tyranny. Plain and simple!
MsSegundus 5 months ago
@Bllackguard666 And you did not answer my question about gods right to torture me. You avoided it by giving me an explanation you know I can not accept because there was never any evidence to support the clame that there is a god and we should be his humble servants for ever.

Acecool444 9 months ago
@Acecool444 There are no "sacred beliefs". There are only beliefs, and they can be wrong. A Muslim has different "sacred beliefs" than a Christian, so one (or both) must be wrong.
Anger toward religion is not unprovoked. Most religions teach children to be ashamed of what they are and threatens them will eternal torture if they question religion. This is psychological abuse, and it is evil.
God is indeed your true self. No more, no less. All attributes you describe are human feelings.
TheWeizOne 9 months ago
@TheWeizOne You generalize when speaking, therefore, your opinions carry with it absolutely no merit or credence. We do not Murder for fear of life long imprisonment, a form of torture, but do not classify it as evil or abuse. God also gave laws to abide.
I for one, allow my children to make up their own minds, unlike Evolution being forcibly taught in our schools, I also provide The Gospel of Christ and the wisdom found therein as a philosophical view, rather than just science based theory's.
Acecool444 9 months ago
@Acecool444 I generalize because it is an accurate representation of reality. You clearly are not interested in reality. As for the murder argument; If you do evil and you will be prevented from doing it again by man made justice system. With God, he request I be brought before God and killed (Luke 19:27). I should be killed because I don't want to have to stone a woman to death (John 8:05)? Or beat my children to save them from hell (Prov 23:13-14)?
No thank you.
TheWeizOne 9 months ago
@TheWeizOne "Luke 19-27?" is a parable, but likewise, God is greater than all Kings, and not to serve him, he who gave you life, has the right to also take that life.
"John 8:5?" Another parable, "He who has not sinned, let them cast the first stone"...No one was supposed to Killed anyone! Read John 8: 1-11 and get the full meaning.
Prov 23:13-14)?
Look at all the disrespect, insolence and contempt in those around you! There was a day when this behavior was unacceptable troubled behavior.
Acecool444 9 months ago
@TheWeizOne "Most religions teach children to be ashamed of what they are and threatens them will eternal torture if they question religion. This is psychological abuse, and it is evil."
Again, Generalizing! I do not speak of "MOST RELIGIONS", as my true religion rests in the belief found in James 1:27
My Belief is Sacred and any man teaching differently will be held accountable. Nor does my Belief teach my children to be ashamed of themselves should they question God.
Acecool444 9 months ago
@Acecool444 The Bible promotes the idea of original sin. Be ashamed of yourself because you're human (imperfect), and someone you've never met did a bad thing and you have to pay for it. If you don't accept Jesus, you'll go to hell. Is the Bible the word of God or isn't it? If *you* are deciding what to follow in the book, then it isn't "true", it's only your own spin on it.
Your belief is not sacred. It is only a belief. It's not even a belief based on the bible. It is wrong either way.
TheWeizOne 9 months ago
@TheWeizOne If God hadn't wiped out the many who refused to follow his commands in earlier times, imagine the evil that would prevail today.
We all love a good movie when the Good King wins against evil tyrants and then makes slaves or forced virgin marriages out of the survivors, but if God is behind it, you call him an Evil and Terrible God.
It's obvious to most, those who refuse to believe in God or Jesus, are doing so only to live according to their own perverse or evil lifestyles.
Acecool444 9 months ago
Do we really need to further this pathetic "atheists are angry" cliché? A lot of what religious people do and say, is sufficient to make a non-religious person angry. Anything else is a matter of personality. I don't care if some atheist is "angry", as long as he makes sense.
At the end of this video, you fall into the PATHETIC trapdoor of suggesting how "empty" and "morally relative" everything would be without God.
You're not some "believer". You're a CHRISTIAN. You should know perfectly...
twooffour 9 months ago

that this version of God stands neither for absolute morality, nor goodness, nor comfort.

In 1567 Fernando de Toledo, Duke of Alva, arrived here with his Spanish soldiers, followed by the Inquisition.
Thousands of Lutherans and Calvinists were tortured and burned to death on the stake.
A few years later, when the fortunes of war turned, the catholics were tortured and burned by the protestant Geuzen.
In the Old testament God liked sniffing burning lambs
Perhaps now he likes the stench of blood and scorched human flesh.
It is the year 2011, it's time we get rid of religion.
