Its about a star QB and a cheerleader. They fall in love but things don't work out and she leaves his hometown because she can't stand the gossip (assuming she gets pregnant) and he falls out of love. The song is sung from her view but at the end, in the last verse before the final chorus its the QBs view, he realizes he screwed up and misses her. I think it's supposed to be some countrified Romeo and Juliet situation, but I could be completely wrong, its just what I get from the song lol.
