  • I would like to know why some people always feel the need to speak about Nazism on German neo-folk songs? I'm sure this sing isn't even about war...

  • They use the colonialist history of France/UK in the same way. It is simply a word being used to demand selfhate, denial of national identity, European culture and submission in guilt.

  • Read an interview. Death in June did clarify and solidify his ideas. But apparently we hat he was doing matched D.i.J. aesthetically

  • Darkwood is the exact translation for the area the compser was born and raised in. its a great name for the project. And im american, pagan and I love germany. Always will and would love to die there.

  • not bad. seems like they are copying death in june a bit too much though.

  • @Dismal0rb One could argue that almost every neofolk band copies Death In June to some degree, mostly due to the fact that they were the forerunners of the genre.

  • @Dismal0rb That is a fairly silly statement to make, 90% of the bands in existence are copying someone to some extent. The amount of bands who are doing something unique are few and far between, stuff like Neurosis (who earlier were highly influenced from Amebix), and Dornenreich, who originally sounded for the most part like a Black Metal band with some different influences.

If this is what you think when listening to this, just stop listening to music all together.

  • sounds good

  • Einfach die perfekte Musik, die jeden Deutschen erreicht, der noch ein Herz in sich trägt

  • It's like a mix between Of The Wand & The Moon and Death In June

  • Schönes Lied!

  • A rather sloppy name for a nice-sounding band.

  • Yeah!!! Thanks for uploadin' all those fantastic songs man!

  • My comment was a response about the singers vision for Germany, and yes, many leaders and countries have done equal or worse damage than the Nazis. Hitler was an infant compared to Genghis Kahn or even many Roman emperors. Americans are brainwashed though, and will hate and love what they are told to.

  • This is music that is very connected with his European ancestry. I will not speak for this other person, but what he means to me is the singer still lives for the old gods, and despite the tremendous damage the nazis did, Germany can still once again find its roots.

    Hail Wodin!!

  • ??

What about the damage the Allies did? The NS didn't push hip hop and Hollywood. At least they made an attempt to reconnect to their ancestral roots.

  • @EyesofNeurosis True, Germany is a nice place it's just well known by most Americans for all of it's bull....that's the way it is for almost all places.

  • I have heard scattered songs by this band, but no whole albums. What is a good album to start with?

  • I would check out Notwendfeuer and Flammende Welt. Those are the two that I have, and I am very impressed so far :D

  • @MithrasAtDusk I would also recommend their 2009 release "Ins dunkle Land".

  • Im in love with darkwood.

    Great song.

  • awesome neofolk.

  • what do you mean with: "

Henryk is a far-seeing man with vivid visions for a new germany. " ?

  • great song!!!

    pure neofolk!

  • does someone have tabs/chords for this song?

  • Great, sensitive approach to Trakl's lyric ("Trompeten").

Henryk is a far-seeing man with vivid visions for a new germany.

  • indeed...great song

  • INCREIBLE BANDA, LA AMO

  • great one!!!!!

  • ein sehr schönes lied

  • danke, danke!

    :D

  • I love Neofolk, thanks for posting some bands I didn't know.

  • wow I have been watching your videos and you have some serious good taste! may i exchange some music with you? I'd be glad to send you some stuff if you'll send me some of your's as well.....
