The CCP is still concerned with quelling unrest in several regions and developing their economy. They don't spend as much on the military as people may think. Also, there are still copyright laws that still need to be enforced so people have incentive to innovate. Once these problems are taken care of, the PLA will be very powerful and will dominate the far east.

@unit731gamer Yes. It's still a little underdeveloped. The Chinese didn't start modernizing their military until the late 1980s. The CCP is still concerned with quelling unrest in several regions and developing their economy. They don't spend as much on the military as people may think. Also, there are still copyright laws that still need to be enforced so people have incentive to innovate. Once these problems are taken care of, the PLA will be very powerful and will dominate the far east.
