The 5.9(360ci) in the ZJ Grand Cherokee is a great motor, but I dont know why people think its something special its not. Its the same 360 thats in vans and trucks, I have a 96 ZJ and its got the 5.2(318) and is rated at 235hp only 10hp lower than the 98 245hp ZJ. Either way its a great vehicle, its a JEEP(Just Empty Every Pocket), also the 4.0 is not a bad setup either.

The Jeep 5.9 was the fastest SUV in the world until the SRT8 in 2005, i doubt an escalade would beat it even on a drag strip... and FYI the 5.9 is all wheel drive also, the reason its called 4WD is because it has a low feature that AWD doesnt

The escalade is nice, but the jeep is wayyyy better. Im 19 and own a 08 GC Laraedo and i can honestly say that it has more balls then any caddy ive came across. IDC if the escalade is more expensive, or luxury, because it really is just a Tahoe dipped in chrome. Sure, the Jeep has MAYBE one or rwo flaws, but the fact remains, the caddy never be compareable to the SRT8, never. Statistically they may seem MAYBE close, but on the pavement its been proven, that SRT  will destory anything

A stock 5.9 does low 14's from the factory with hooks, skidplates tow hitch and every plush thing Jeep had to offer! A stock Tahoe will not do 14's so unless you have some modded engine you loose! I had one and beat 5.0s with it STOCK, with skids and hooks and tow package!
