I got 5% on my stang. Thinking about adding the 5% visor strip. I also wouldn't mind adding 50% on the windshield. What are you thoughts about windshield tint?
@bentonssbn I got pulled over her in the UK for mine!! For the past 6 years all my cars have been 5% all around. I got done in Novemeber last year and had mine stripped, prior to that I always used to roll the windows down when I see traffic police but I was unlucky that day damn!! they were waiting in the corner and caught me buy suprise lol. How do you cope in the US with this, dont you get hassle from the cops?
@hellotroy0794 To be honest, i've never been pulled over due to my tint. Always for speeding, in cars with "illegal" tint, but when the cop gets out of the car, all my windows are down, my keys are on the dash, and both hands are on the steering wheel, and i'm always super polite, no matter what. The only reason for the tint laws is because the cops can't see if you have a weapon drawn upon stopping you. Being in the military also seems to help :p
if you just keep it all 5 % and you open your windows all the way or a little its less likely that you will get pulled over i think right? cuz i wanna do this to my 2012 camaro

I roll both my driver and passenger windows down while pulling over, and i've never had any cop/trooper say anything about my tint. As long as your nice and courteous to the cop, they don't have any reason to screw you over on your tint.
@bentonssbn I was pulled over with 20% tint and was given a warning to get it removed. Cop was cool about it and said he'd give me a slip to get off a few days if i was hassled by anyone else about it. But if you see a cop on the side of the road or do a U turn to get behind you, roll the windows down right away so if/when they pull you over for it, they can't force you to roll your windows up because that's forcing you to incriminate yourself and they can't do that.

Key point, as long as they are willing to take responsibility for situations that may arise from having a dark tint. An easy solution would simply be to create a law that required anyone with dark tint to roll all windows down when pulled over/investigated. I see nothing wrong with that. It provides more choice to the vehicle owner.
@7rak3r It's a safety issue for one driver to not be able to see another. Think of how often you look at other drivers to see if they're looking at you (parking lots, cars pulling out onto main roads, etc etc).
@thegizmoguy1 - This is true and I'm glad you mentioned this. Not sure it's changed my mind though. My tactic for when I can't see in another drivers vehicle for such circumstances is simply to wait for them to make up their mind. I find it almost hilarious though when sometimes you wait for people because you can't see through their tint and they expect you to make the first move. I'm thinking..."Moron, I can't see crap through that windshield." Like they forget. Anyway, I see your point.
@Sykora171 I have to crack my side windows to see where i'm turning if there's no street lights, and all the way down if i'm backing up. But if you've ever driven the new camaro's, rear visibility is pretty bad as it is, the 5% tint on the back doesn't really make a dif :p

@bentonssbn hahaha I know so many people love to say that,but with 50% I guarantee you won't notice a difference from the inside,and it will make your car look 10x's more aggressive then it already is while cutting night time glares.I have 35% on my windshield and 5 all around,and trust me the people who bash on windshield tint have no idea what they're talking about.If you put 50% on the windshield you'll be so glad you did it ever time you look at your car,you should consider it! lol
@lolKaBooMlol HAH No it's not bs...I've been in a couple accidents while having my windshield tinted and sides 5% and not a word brought up about the tints from my insurance agent,and same goes for the people I know who either have the windshield or just have dark side tints.....I guess your insurance agent just wanted to fuck you or whoever you know good,and if you never had it happen to you or don't know anyone who has had it happen,then just stfu.

@soulcalibur22 Yes, the higher the % number, the lighter the tint, aka the higher the visibility. So 15% tint would be a lighter tint. 5% is about as dark as you can go without severely obstructing your visibility at night.

@pv305 Yeah, I've found as long as you aren't breaking any laws besides having dark tint, they seem to leave you alone, like you said, they can appreciate the tint when the suns out :p
Nice ride, I have 5% as well with the exception of 20% on the rear window. Just a heads up though try avoiding Fairfield if your ever down in this area. Illegal tint is their bread and butter lol

Be careful because insurance might try not to pay out if your tint is illegal. Someone may hit you and you insurance could deny the claim.
