yeah sure what will the police or the local authorities do in these cases? NOTHING. Most people can't even tell the difference between a sparrow and a swift so you really think civil servants will care? Your best bet is to do what the charity did - film it, get it out into the public domain, then put up nest boxes yourself on your balcony (north facing). You can buy all kinds online. Then get your friends to do the same. Happy bird watching!

I was working in a beach bar last summer and watched builders destroy the nesting sites of the swifts. It was so sad to watch the parents trying to defend the nests. The crane took down the whole building and the chicks all fell to the floor. it was heartbreaking that these cruel basterds couldnt wait one month for the birds to fly the nest.

Maybe you don't understand us people you prick! All life is sacred and should be respected or would you be happier if all human life was preserved and all other forms of life were exterminated. yes and there are other foundations out there who are helping to save people.

if you have too many groups doing this, then there isn't a particular group you can count on as a whole. you have to go to many different groups for help.

so, why with all the ones out there, that there shouldn't be a group or foundation for other walks of life.

It' s very sad because polish law of preservation of natural environment is not respected. More and more thermal insulation works have begun and nobody from authorites cares about swifts and their nestling places(Swifts are under protection in Poland).

Where is polish law? That's forbidden! Act of polish law says that during nestling time no one can do anything which can have negative impact on adult birds, nestlings or even eggs and nests!!!

the nesting holes are not filled with cement, there is a layer of insulation and then goes external layer of plaster. however, it does not matter what fills the hole, it matters that the birds are buried alive
