@nwbb43 I know that I'm late to reply but I don't understand "nah the top gun or truck 1 is the SHIT best truck company in the whole city" how is it the best if it's shit?
Very good video. CFD is one of the best. I have an uncle working there now and another one who retired out of 2 a few years ago.
As for the comments about volunteering. CFD doesn't have a volunteer department. It's all paid and they hold civil service tests every few years. It's going to be a while before they hold another one and the tests are very competitive.
biggiy05, Columbus DOES have an Auxiliary fire dept. where volunteers get training and can ride and assist on calls (but not replace a paid firefighter). It's a good way to learn about the job. Many of us got started there.
What memories!! My buddy and I were firefighters with Dennison Fire in Tuscarawas Co. in the late 70's thru 2000's. In the late 80's and into the 90's we ran several times a year, for several years with Station 2, 1 Unit. What a great group of guys. They treated us like one of their own and we got to see and experience a lot!! Hats off to Gary Eubanks, (what a cook!), Dave Karns, Nate Chatman, the Lt's., to name a few, and all the others. It will be memories that we will never forget!!
Right in my neiborhood.
