I am a physician who signed the open letter requesting release of McCain's records. Partisan politics aside, the staging of his recurrent melanoma indeed has direct impact both on his ability to perform the job for which he is being considered and on his prospects for long-term survival . If his melanoma is low-stage, McCain should have no reservation about releasing this information.

I am a physician who signed the open letter requesting release of McCain's records. Partisan politics aside, the staging of his recurrent melanoma indeed has direct impact both on his ability to perform the job for which he is being considered and on his prospects for long-term survival . If his melanoma is low-stage, McCain should have no reservation about releasing this information.

Of course, I doubt Bill O'Reilly had anything to say about the original Swift-Boat ads back in 2004 (as you might recall, a Bush campaign official was on the board of the Swift-Boat organization). And of course the McCain campaign theoretically has had no need to put out "vicious" attack ads, because they have had FOX News and the like--including Bill O'Reilly himself--to do the dirty work for them (accusing Obama of being a terrorist and in league with Muslim extremists, etc.)

I honestly can't see how this is an attack ad. McCain was very sercretive about his medical records. He never actaully released them--he only allowed reporters an hour to read through 700 pages of medical records and did not let them take notes.
