  • Great tutorial, and I loved how the music got more and more intense as time went on.

  • Wow! I thought this was a wonderful video. I was impressed. Did you go to school or self-taught? Can you put icing on top of Fondant? I have next to no skill with cake decorating. How difficult is doing that, really? :o )

  • HUMMM....Would have been nicer if you would have indicated the tip number of all the tips you used as you used them. Still one of the better videos that I watched today.

  • @mydragonspectrum In the beginning I listed tip 2 for the strings, at 4:29 it says tip 4, 5:05 says 103, matter of fact... all the tip numbers are listed as I used them, are you sure you're referencing the correct video?

  • how did you get the icing so thin

  • @luvbeingmama83 She thinned it out with corn syrup

  • What do you do with the excess icing? Can you refrigerate that?

  • @heelrunner Most buttercream will keep in the fridge for at least 2 weeks. Just let it come to room temperature and beat it until it's smooth again.

  • How do yo let your buttercream crust before pipping.

  • @MrsMoe07 Let the cake sit out until you can touch it without any frosting coming off.

  • I want one!!

  • I teach cake decorating but am always interested in seeing other's work to see if I missed something. I love your sense of humor! We have the same approach to this delicious art! Well done!

  • Beautiful.Very Beautiful.

  • O and one more thing...do you use two cakes and put icing in the middle? then smooth out the rest of the cake? or do you bake one big cake and just cut it in the middle?

  • 1)where did you buy all your tips?

2)Why did you tilt the cake during the drapeing?

3)PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO A TUTORIAL ON A BIRTHDAY CAKE, if you havent already!!!!!!!

    you are good.

  • Congratulations. Very nice creation. I like it. And thank you for sharing.

  • how did you tilt it and not have the cake slid off? because I was making a cake a few days ago and I tilted it and it slid off luckily it did not hit anything and did not need any repairs or resmoothing done.

  • @abstopmotion For extra insurance I'll use one of those non-slip pads that you line drawers with, never had one fall yet! Of course, now that I've said that it will probably happen next time I tilt ;D

  • it is very nice, thank-you for sharing!!! it looks like your cake is just finished in buttercream.....do you find it easier to pipe onto a buttercream finished cake, or one finished off with fondant?

  • @heather19821982 lol, I've only ever used buttercream on buttercream so I can't provide a comparison :)

  • @heather19821982 I prefer fondant :) just cuz its smoother but its your preference if u can get buttercream that smooth go ahead :)

  • @heather19821982 Its easier t get off if you mess up as well :)

  • You are unbeliveble,, you are fantastic,, :D

  • What kind of piping bags are you using? Were can I get them?

  • @luciarockkobe Nope, all buttercream :D

  • I hate you! I kid I kid :D

Bake me a cake and I'll love you forever! <3

  • Comment removed

  • The techniques are not my problem....its getting that royal icing formula for optimal quality...if its slightly off you aint making rose pedals, strings , shells, stars or anything...All you are gonna make is a mess..... How do you know or how can you tell when your Royal icing is ready to go ??? Im an amateur, but I bake and make professional tasting and looking cakes. At least I try.

  • @attentionstatic lol, I don't have any experience with royal, only buttercream :D

  • @SeriousCakes OH OK.............

  • @SeriousCakes

    Really impressive cake !

Could you tell me the numbers (or names) of the nozzles you're using for the red flowers and the last pipping for the base of the cake ?

  • @Rambojohn31 They're listed in the subtitles of the video :)

  • Comment removed

  • @SeriousCakes lol, sorry. I'm not english and thought it was tip > advice. I didn't make the point. Make more sense now ! ;)

  • You are AMAZING!!!!!!

  • Awesome!

  • Lovin' the Peter Pan music!

  • Lovin' hte Peter Pan music!

  • how much does this cake cost?

  • @florencelovme You mean how much would I charge? About $35

  • @SeriousCakes aren't you a professional? do you mean that you're doing it as a hobby? in that case, wow! It's because you have so much equipment that I thought that you had a cake decoration company.

    well done!

  • @florencelovme lol-I'll take that as a compliment, earlier this week I was told my pillowcase inspired cake looked like crap and a professional would do much better! I wanted to have a business when I first started but there's WAY too much stress, hobby caking keeps it fun and I don't HAVE to take any orders if I don't have the time or energy.

  • @SeriousCakes I know what you mean. It can be a very demanding job if you dont have a team to support you. well you have mastered it so well that you could be considered a qualified prof. I'm a fan.

  • @SeriousCakes It's worth way more than $35!

  • wow i love the flowers!!!:)

  • So beautiful , thank you!

  • thank you , yr video is easy to learn!!

    love the cake!

  • complimenti davvero bella.... very good hello....

  • Beautiful! :]

  • Wow Veryy Nicee :)

  • if i make a cake like two days ahead of time and put it in the fridge how can i keep it from sweating? i hate it when they sweat and is there a way to put fruit on top without the same problem?

  • You can't keep it from sweating, anything will sweat going from cold to warm. If your frosting is safe to keep at room temp (like mine), then just leave the cake out-unless you are using a perishable filling. I keep everything at room temp, the cooled cake (wrapped in plastic wrap until I'm ready to frost), the decorated cake, etc.

  • Leftover frosting will go in the fridge or freezer. As for fruit, if you won't be eating the cake right away you can't stop it from sweating. There may be ways of fixing that but I haven't read about them. Try cakecentral, someone there may know :D

  • I can't do drop strings, I have a terrible problem with pressure consistency. So I break like... every other string xD

  • I have had cakes like that, if I did it every day maybe I could get it right every time :D

  • hi seriouscake, i made a birthday cake for my friend, i made that strings and it turned so nice..thanks for this video! greetings from amsterdam

  • Awesome!!

  • hi seriouscake, what if i will make my icing today and i will use the next day, and i put it in the fridge the whole night, is it not affecting the icing when im going to spread it in the cake? is it not difficult to dry it before i make a decoration on it? thanks from amsterdam
