My mom kind of just gave me the same speech. I've barely been sleeping at all this year because I'm kicking my butt doing homework every minute of every day, and my mom yells at me and says I'll never get into any colleges and I'm throwing away my future. I get all A's, but I had a B on the last report card. I know, I know, I should be doing homework, but I needed this to help me before I get back to work.

honestly i think most of us can relate to this scene. i mean, parents want their kids to go through life with least difficulty and not make the same mistakes as they did. if only ellis went about it in a more caring way, the point wouldnt be lost on meredith.
but yea... life is hard enough without your mom wanting you to live a certain way- or to live HER life the way she wants through you.

Wonderful acting by Ellis (I dunno her real name). I kept thinking about how stupid Meredith was being when she drowned herself, and taking Derek for granted, but when I watched this again I realized that her life is seriously screwed up. After this, everything just starts to go downhill for Meredith...
Yeah, this one was an episode that i haven't seen yet, so i didn't knew that there were two diferent scenes between ellis and meredith. (the other one is when meredith says "you happened to me?").
I think that her mom needs to get into sudoku or something, but Seattle Career women are really unpleasant unless they're on prozac which dr.Grey senoir does not seem to have the benefit of.

Kate Burton is an excellent actress. She really does a great job in making you hate "Ellis Grey" yet somehow sympathizing with her at the same time.
