C de B is a very talented and prolific artist, known mainly for the hit ballard "lady in red", he has many other equally good tracks, from "into the light" album e.g spirit of man, another good album is "flying colours" released after into the light.He has made many albums since and before, think he's been singing since 1972 or so.Quality artist.

You really need to get away from the video games and learn a little of your history ( try remembering that the troops that charged the beaches on D-Day while the Canadian scaled the cliffs with the US Rangers in Normandy )

Fantastic song! The war in Afganistan is being wound up....And for what? Hundreds if not thousands dead and no resolution, no result. America has a lot to answer for and they have blood on their hands. To engage in warfare, one must have a clear objective of getting in, getting the job done and getting the hell out of there!!! Chris De Burgh must be one of the best songwriters this world has ever seen. Anyone who doubts this should take the Crusader album, put it on in a dark room and listen. Up to, and including, The Getaway there wasn't a bad song recorded.
Lady In Red was the end of the songwriting talent as he suddenly realised he could make vasts sums of money from mushy pop songs and didn't need to write meaningful songs anymore as the homegenous slush song lovers would pay his salary..
@TheFreakandaGeek Wow! That's a bit harsh. I agree that LIR is not one of his best but he has written some wonderful songs since. Try listening to a song called Mirror of the soul from the Storyman album. That is right up there with Crusader. There's dozens of others I could name as well.

Chris De Burgh must be one of the best songwriters this world has ever seen. Anyone who doubts this should take the Crusader album, put it on in a dark room and listen. Up to, and including, The Getaway there wasn't a bad song recorded.
Lady In Red was the end of the songwriting talent as he suddenly realised he could make vasts sums of money from mushy pop songs and didn't need to write meaningful songs anymore as the homegenous slush song lovers would pay his salary..

@TheFreakandaGeek Wow! That's a bit harsh. I agree that LIR is not one of his best but he has written some wonderful songs since. Try listening to a song called Mirror of the soul from the Storyman album. That is right up there with Crusader. There's dozens of others I could name as well.

my dad brought me up on this im 30 and no one my age seems to like him. I still like a wee sing song to chrIS. He has loads better songs than lady in red - (seems to be the 1 song every1 knows)

I practically grew up on his music - my dad is a big fan - and this song has always been one of our favorites...
Most people my age (20) have maybe heard of Lady in Red, but nothing else, while my dad and I still have sing-alongs

I am a huge fan of Chris De Burgh, but i've never seen this video before. WoW... pure heartstopping WoW!

His style of troubadour music just doesn't work in the U.S. market. I wish it did - I saw him six times in Montreal and now that I live in the U.S., I haven't seen him in concert in 15 years. :(
Ironically, the song they know him for - that makes them think this 27-time international platinum artist is a "one-hit-wonder," is nothing like his best stuff!
