On a side note I think by judging from the way Kimbo talks nowadays, we are going to see him turn into a VERY careful calculated fighter that doesn't take chances looks for the opening to use his strengths I.e. his punching power. I don't think we will see alot of out right slug fests from Kimbo like alot have hoped for I think what will end up seeing is a fighter that takes his time and mathodically looks for the one punch knockout.

I think Kimbo most likely was being overly careful, he said in the TUF to Dana he didn't want to replace that retarded kid b/c he wasn't ready to fight and couldn't stomach another loss at that point. So I think Kimbo came in fighting the very causous, careful planned fight but I think he WAS planning on throwing fists Houstan was simply scarred to engage Kimbo head on and was sticking to a game plan that would have worked on Kimbo before his entroduction into real MMA training.

The fight was the fakest fight I have ever seen. Ive seen almost all of Houstons fights, Houston doesnt and would never fight like that. He doesnt throw leg kicks becuz he cant. Which is why he kept falling everytime he threw one. Hands down the UFC needed someone who would agree to lose to Kimbo. And Houston was the only one who probably wanted the extra money.

win or lose, kimbo is the UFCs newest and biggest marketing tool ever. he's even in the new game and hes got only one win. some guys that have 10 don't make it in. kimbo's fight alone boosted spikes tv ratings to a record 5.2 million. the UFC has to keep feeding him fights that are exiting, guys that brawl.

any fight with this much riding on it has the potential to be fixed but, if it were fixed, it wasn't the UFC. dana white was very unhappy with houston and his camp and decided to cut him from the roster following the fight. another reason that i don't think UFC had anything to do with that is because they could have just let kimbo fight the easier guys in the house, but instead he lost to the champion, that wasn't setup. i think the UFC knew houston had a suspect chin and was a good matchup.

You are right about the fight not being fixed, but I think that Kimbo is learning not to start throwing wild punches like he used too and Houston didn't want to get caught with one of Kimbo's punches. I don't think neither of them went in there to have a boring fight, I think that they had a game plan and they were only trying to do what their corner was advising them to do. Alexander is a world class fighter, and he was trying to fight the "smart fight". God bless him it didn;t work.

i bet Houston studied the Seth Parzellisomething fight. Kimbo went in too aggressively, Seth put his back in the wall and blocked, and without defence, Kimbo was taken out easily.

Houston was probably looking for something like that, especially on Kimbos left knee. he said prior to the game it wouldn't be as aggressive as people thought, but instead more strategic.

Kimbo just didn't let Houston sucker him into making such a mistake again.

Before this fight people here said houston would kill kimbo...tonight he showed that he has improved and has been doing some major work on his ground game. He beat a guy that has beaten people like Keith Jardine and still people dont give him credit. I think the fight was fixed.

Houston Alexander typically offers a lot more competence and aggression as a fighter. You can see this in his previous fights (even when he loses).

I definitely don't think the fight was totally "scripted" per-se because it would have looked better. If anything, I think Houston was told what they wanted to happen (IE - keep it standing, make sure it goes to the 3rd round, etc), and he just sucks as an actor.

I'd rather have seen Kimbo fight a can than this.

I don't really want to believe it was fixed, but why throw leg kicks if you're not going to capitalize on your opponent going down from your leg kick? Houston stood still and looked shocked that one of his leg kicks actually did something. That was a very poor fight.
