  • Lyndon B Johnson is a traitor to America.

He ordered the murders of us servicemen with the help of israel

youtube USS Liberty - these sailors are still seeking justice for being stabbed in the back by Johnson - they are still being ignored.

Lyndon B Johnson got the Israeli military to attack a US Naval vessel, to use it as a pretext to go to war with Egypt and blame it on them, it was a false flag

Johnson killed American Servicemen. Go research, it's all true.

  • What the newscasters didn't tell us was how evil, corrupt, and murderous this catastrophic President was; there have been fewer presidencies more disastrous for our nation than his, and only the ramifications of Woodrow Wilson's was worse.

  • This Evil LBJ statement WE believe refers to the murder of JFK

"It is the Melancholy law of human societies to be compeled sometimes to chose a great evil in order to ward off a greater evil"

YOU want to see a guilty MAN? check this out , = LBJ coments on JFK assasination 1969.wmv

  • Can anyone help me? I don't understand two words:

0:50 He was ???, cantankerous and unpredictable.

1.52 His fierce fight against Mr. Kennedy for the Democratic nomination in 1960 seem polyester???

  • LBJ was a disaster....and Lady Terd was no bargain either

  • More like the accidental douchebag responsible for a lot of cover ups.

  • @Bilderbergz alot of casualties in that accident.... true freedom and the beginning of the end of "peoples presidents" was one....

  • I was in country in Naval Intelligence in 1965 and discovered we were not allowed to win the war. We could have won the war at any time but the directives from the White House were to perpetuate the war and every commander in that theater knew it. LBJ and his cronies were personally making millions off the US troops they were having killed. Honoring his memory in any way disgusts me.

Richard Nelson, USN, Vietnam combat veteran 1965/ 1966

  • @ExplorerExperience your point is valid, but what LBJ did for civil rights outweighs his screw ups in Vietnam.

  • Accidental ? Right He had JFK Wacked....Instant Promotion

  • "accidental"

  • He did not provide the voice of Yosemite Sam.

  • Johnson did not endorse Eisenhower in 1956. He was Majority Leader in the Senate, for God's sake. He may not have been enamored of Stevenson, but he was a Democrat and party man, first and foremost.

  • One of the absolute worst presidents we've ever had. He kept us in Vietnam because, by his own admission, he was afraid to go against what his Harvard-grad advisors told him to do (because he attended a hick college).

Also, it was Johnson that gave us the nightmare government program called The Great Society. The fool believed that it was somehow a wise thing to get people to use others to get a free ride through life! U.S. tax-payers have ever since suffered greatly due to this fool jackass!!

  • next to obama and carter, LBJ was one of the worst presidents we have ever had . bar none.

  • Lyndon Johnson might of been an "Accidental President" but he was the President that we needed for that time.

  • @FRSFreeState your very right. LBJ did what he was sappose to do he stayed loyal and down for the cause that JFK set in motion. thats what you want from your VP. He was a southern man that understood that the ways of the jim crow south was wrong and he was the right man to correct it.

  • Lyndon B. Johnson hated John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy.... he told his mistress Madeliene Brown that he was going to have Kennedy killed.... look her up here on You Tube..

  • LBJ did not kill JFK, He was not a accidental president unless you consider Civil Rights accidental, Unless you consider a fight against poverty accidental. Johnson was a nice southern man. He did not Kill JFK he was in tears in during the death. Johnson was mistreated by The Kennedy's and mad fun of by the Kennedy's and Bobby Kennedy thought he was stupid. I can't believe what people this day in age believe anything the conspiracy leaders say!

  • LBJ was not a lawyer. Severaid was wrong!

  • Lyndon Johnson was a mixture of several things in one big package good & bad & even though the Vietnam War is a huge stain on his Presidency, I think what would of been without Lyndon Johnson as President. How long would African Americans & other Minorities in America have to wait for their Constitutional Rights to be enforced under the US Constitution & how long would Seniors have to wait to be able to afford Health Care in their old age.

  • @FrsBigeasy

How long would African Americans & other Minorities in America have to wait for their Constitutional Rights to be enforced?

You are making a joke, huh?

    -

The Republicans, under Pres. Eisenhower, tried to enforce the Constitution with the 1957 Civil Rights Act. The mostly democrat congress led by LBJ, screwed it. JFK and Al Gore Sr. also voted against black civil rights in 1957.

    It was all politics.

They wanted you to think democrats enforced it in 1964, so you vote democrat forever.

  • @arther1046 Your history is wrong but nice try. The bill that then Senate Leader Lyndon Johnson tried to pass was a voluntary bill with no teeth. The 1964 Civil Rights Act was enforceable. Because of the 1957 bill African American Leaders were concern about LBJ Civil Rights credentials but he brought them along & risked losing the South to the Republican Party. But the risk was well worth it because those Southern Democrats weren't real Democrats & are Republicans today.

  • @arther1046 I realize that LBJ is 1 of the Far Right's favorite whipping boys with the Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act, Great Society, Fair Housing Law etc but you should at least make an attempt at telling the truth or find someone dumb enough to believe you.

LBJ didn't screw anything, the Southern Conservative Democrats in the Senate led by Dick Russell, Strom Thurmond, Jim Easton etc killed the Eisenhower bill which again was a voluntary bill not enforceable.

  • @arther1046 Besides Dwight Eisenhower as good of a man as he was & I think he was a great man & perhaps a great President didn't have the political skills or balls to get a strong Civil Rights or Voting Rights Bill through a Senate led by the Southern Conservative Democrats who by the way would be Republicans today, the Republican Party pretty much controls the South politically but LBJ did with help form Liberal Democrats, Senate Minority Leader Everett Dirkson & Progressive Republicans.

  • he was not a "laywer by training".....he taught school and then ran for office

  • yoyo 10Garmonbozia01, if you want to improve in basketball, you have to start sticking with a authentic workout training. I used the nba training system over at 50inch vertical[dot]com. I haven t even told this to my college teammates yet ha

  • 10Garmonbozia01 I'm 5 11 and I can do fancy windmill dunks. Truthfully, anyone can do it, just do the right workouts with the right nutrition. I recommend the workout program at 50inch vertical[dot]com but any workout could be followed if you can check they work

  • Although the Viet-Nam war was a mess, you still have to give LBJ credit for his advocation of civil rights

  • can anyone help me? i have to write a 5000 word essay on him

  • @TheNessa2269 Talk about how he like to name thinks after himself. Like his wife, Lady Bird Johnson

  • @snowwolf7777 well its not that easy haha

  • @TheNessa2269 , the best book about him is by Robert A Caro.

It is called: The Path to Power.

    -

It includes college elections that earn Lyndon a reputation as a crook and a liar. bullying his closest aides, vote-stealing in the 1948 Senate election, illegal business schemes making him a multimillionaire on a government worker's salary, shameless brown-nosing of powerful politicians, love affairs with their wives and girlfriends, participation in conspiracy to murder & cover-up.

  • WOMAN & CHILD MISSING on the Zapruder film.

    -

After the fall-down guy on the lawn, the next people are a child & 3 adults. Look up to the Main St. light post, above the child and 3 adults.

No WOMAN & CHILD standing together on the lawn just in front of the light pole shadow.

    -

But you see the Woman & Child on the Nix film at that position.

    -

That is another proof the Zapruder film was edited & altered. The woman & child have been air-brushed out of the Z frames.

  • @grassyknollkiller Here is the real grassy knoll, enlightenment ritual of Lyndon Baines Johnson a 33rd Degree Freemason shown that the 33rd degree secret is Tesla Earthquake No. 333 and was initiated with a predicted seismic event appearing divine at the time to an “idiot of the 33rd degree” -Mark Twain (Freemason)

  • He didn't start the war in vietnam, it started itself. It started when Kennedy wa spresident, and communism was running everywhere. they had no control, they did what everyone thought was right.

  • Don't think the Kennedy / Connally & LBJ connection is a coincidence.

  • Eric Severied was a good journalist

  • joflo is the only person on here who knows more than a just a hobbyists

knowledge of this great leader, one of the greatest- despite huge flaws of character.

As Conally said of him once" He was a strange, complex man who led an almost

Jeckyl -Hyde kind of existence". Whatever the circumstanes he changed America forever for the disenfranchised, minorities, poor, sick and elderly, children and millions others caught up in the "tenacles of circumstance".

  • Great Man

  • French TV and Japanese TV program broadcasted the assasination of JFK as the nonfiction. The TV programs said "LBJ killed JFK.The evidence were Mac Wallace's fingerprint in the 6th floor of the Text Book Building and Billie Sol estes's testimony on the court".

  • He was the criminal president , he used people to gain power , he ordered the assasination of kennedy . Listen once to what Billie Sol estes has to say and you'll know a bit more about who lbj really was.

  • Nothing has been pinned on LBJ. So I laugh at the stupidity of people say he killed JFK.

Besides, JFK was overrated, LBJ underrated.

  • @AlecBoy006 It is all laughable allright.

  • I mention LBJ in the History Song.

  • I'm glad President Johnson supported Eisenhower, good 4 him! I'm also pleased 2 hear that he didn't always stand with the Democrats.

  • LBJ War Criminal.

  • Johnson did so much for our country in one year, than any President! As for Vietnam he was well on his way to resolving the war. In the Paris Peace Talks he was on the verge to solving the VN peacefully. But was sabatoged by our good old friend, Tricky Dick, Richard Nixon.. Who committed treason by interferring in the talks. Johnson was entrapped in VN policies by three previous presidents..Some historians believe Kennedy's murdering of Diem, engulfed our country in this mess that was VN.

  • I do not, for one second, believe the conclusions of the Warren Commission."

    -Gov. John Connally

  • Ahh yes a True thinker thinking outside the propoganda box. Good Day!

  • By the way your the only person I have ever heard defending the honor of an ass clown president like you! R U sure your not his love child.... Steve Brown maybe? lol.... Im sorry but who cares about LBJ hes a dead dog? By the way the evidence is strongly pointing to lyin lyndon as one of the guys involved with Kennedys death! Anyway the dude was a fraud so whos paying you to say otherwise? what interest do you have in this peice of shit? I just dont get it, r u a spook? lmfao

  • "Kennedys murdering of Diem"- Thats a lie. He wanted Diem to go into exile not to be murdered. Kennedys instructions and requests were ignored by powerful people including Henry Lodge. Nixon was so conviced of Pres Kennedys involvement that when he was in the White House he had his men do an inquiry and then couldnt find a shred on JFK.

  • @capetown99 Read "Legancy of Lies" and many other documented sources..Kennedy's Operation Mongoose, they not only killed Diem, Lumanba of the Congo, Trujillo of the DR, they were after, Vaastro, something backfired on them..Many reliable sources have also stated they ordered the murder of Mariyln Monroe because she was going to rat them out..The Kennedys were no saints...What about Aristotle Onassis? Do you think his marrying Jackie Kennedy was spntances???It was for revenge? Why, go research

  • My reply was to your comment that "Kennedy murdered Diem"

But your reply is now just a scattering of What about this or what about that. Aristotle Onassis/Monroe, people squealing on JFK. Just rubbish.

Your an American. You should read James Douglass-JFK and The Unspeakable.

"This book should be required reading for every American Citizen". Princeton Univerity Professor Of International Law.

  • @steveforsane i have a few points to say to u, ur right on with the nixon/ kissenger thing in vietnam. they stopped peace so they could win an election and nobel peace prizes. LBJ did more for blacks then lincoln but remember he was in the room debating whether or not to kill diem. jfk told diem to get out of the country or else, he refused and was killed. 2 wks later jfks dead, his war plans r trashed and lbj takes over changing policy 4days after jfks death.

  • Your information is innaccurate. JFK authorized a coup against Diem by South Vietnemese Army Generals on Aug. 20, 1963 and LBJ did not find out about it until Aug. 26, 1963. LBJ balked at the turn of events. LBJ considered Diem a friend a picture of Diem hung in the Washington DC home of LBJ. JFK NEVER allowed VP LBJ to sit in on ANY conference or meeting of significance. JFK's desire to withdraw from Vietnam was NEVER policy. Had it been, LBJ would have been forced to honor it.

  • Your data is innaccurate. Per "LBJ: Architect of American Ambition" by Randall B Woods (pp. 406) ...JFK authorized Diem's coup on 8-26-63 and LBJ did not find out until 8-28=63. JFK NEVER aloowed LBJ to sit in on any meeting/conference of any significance.

Also, JFKs desire to leave Vietnam was NEVER policy. Had it been LBJ would have been forced to honor it.

  • Blind irrational statements made by cuckoos do not prove anything! Put these people uunder oath in a court of law! Sho empirical evidence? Not one person who makes accusations aainst President Johnson has filed any charges against Mr. Johnson. They are old hippies from the 60s, we have all read about them. Johnson is and considered one of our greatest presidents..he is ranked at the 5th most effctive president. He created many of the domestic programs our country cherishes so dearly, today.

  • Thank-go for Lyndon Johnson...He lead outr country during terrible times..Yet he passed the most effective domestic programs in our history..Saved us from the manic, Goldwatr and the birchers....Civil rights, educational reform Medical, lonest sutained economic growth in American hostory. Balanced budgets, and federal surplus, Head start, conservation moment.. Look what we got now??? PIGMIES! Who care about themselves, talk about crazies, Johnn Edwards, Barry Soetoro, George Bush Jr...

  • Why are you so obsessed with defending this ass-clown? He was not a good president he a was a usurper! he allowed the false flag operation of the gulf of tonkin which brought on a terrible war! Strong evidence show indeed that he was involved in many murders including JFK's, which by the way a Texas Grand Jury convicted him of but Sadly his ass crocked before that! LBJ aka Lyin Lyndon was a scumbag peice of shit who should be exumed and destroyed and tossed to the winds! what r u his grandson?

  • I get it your his illegitimate love child lol who has come to defend his shallow honor? Give it up the dude was a shitty person with a bad legacy, they didn't call him lyin lyndon for nothing.. Hey by the way what happened to Ballot Box 13? Hmm perhaps alittle voter fraud LMFAO the truth is out, everyone knows it, LBJ was a crook!

  • The psychiatrist was paid one million dollars to keep him from talking about what Johnson told him.

Back then that kind of money was enough to keep anybody quiet.

That dead sack of shit johnson must be burining in hell right about now.

  • @ConspiracyHist hey i just wanted to thank you for sticking up for kennedy and what really happened. LBJ only did the black voter rights and all that for legacy, funny because blacks today credit JFK because they kno who actually started it. ive found theres a lot of weird ppl who talk shit about JFK for no reason on youtube. its actually kinda weird

  • ConspiracyHist don't believe everything you read

  • Has every forgotten about the great society and what LBJ did for black folks?? He had the courage to do what others did not.

  • @phillyjdee yeah kill the gratest prez ever to save some gangbanger niggs...b.s he killed him

  • @phillyjdee what he did destroyed american culture forever

  • He was definitely a megalomaniac. The people that backed him were some scary power-hungry bastards. I believe they were responsible for JFK's assasination. LBJ was simply their boy.

  • Johnson was a shit asshole like Stalin and Hitler

  • Man its too bad he was such a crrok according to his former attorney he killed jfk, and I believe it after reading his book "Blood Money & Power how LBJ killed JFK" by Barr McClellon

Excellent book I would suggest you read it if your interested in that sorta thing.

  • Yes, take the word of a convicted felon, convicted for embellzemenr...His own son said his father was under intense mental strain, said he was unbalanced...Go research your sources!

  • While you take the word of a election stealer/murderer and pronounce him as good for the sake of saving his character...

That crooked Texan peice of shit brings shame to all Texans and Americans alike! Your either his close family or someone who was brainwashed into the fake American historical honor crap! Face up he was a fraud hece his great depression before he died..... He knew he was a fraud and a criminal who would sooner or later be found out!

  • Why do you take the word of a convicted felon, plus his own son, said Barr McCellean was a little unbalanced?? Made;lin Brown, another convicted felon..convicted for fraud. Trying to steal money from her dead husbands' estate. She forged legal documents. So, you check out your sources! Fool, don't believe everything you you hear on Youtube. You show one piece of empirical evidence which demostrates Johnson's involvment in the death of JKF.. Put those people under oath! There is none!

  • Yeah well tell that to the jury that found his ass to be gulity along with estes on multiple murders including JFKs... the dude was a crusty Texans power hungry peice of shit! Only an asshole would have allowed a false flag terror operation like the gulf of tonkin to happen, that kill 58,000 americans in a bogus war.... Hey Hey LBJ how many kids did you kill today? Fuck that criminal. I do wonder what he told that psychiatrist before he died..... Hmm was the burden too much, the guilt?

  • @ConspiracyHist You sound like a hippy-dippy old hippi fart>>We have read all about you peopl...Only and asshole would ordered the murder od Marilyn Monroe, which the Kennedys according to many reliable sources did. Because she was going to rat them out. That old prevert, Aritotle Ornasiis got his revenge, marrying good old Jackie, who got her revenge, for all the womanizing that was gong on with the Kennedys. Johnson doid more for our country than most presidents, including our current one

  • @steveforsane that pissed me off i thought u were smart. why would the kennedys kill monroe? because she supposedly had a diary? the kennedys bribbed many girls to keep quiet, none of which were big stars so they could have been killed without any1 caring. monroe was crazy at that time no way would she be believed over the president and the justice depart. also if they did kill her rfk and p lanford would not b at her house the day of, theyd be 1000 miles away in public. she had tons of enemies

  • NO. LBJ was NOT an accidental President. He was the intentional President of the power echelon. LBJ's Presidency was pre planned. LBJ's Presidency was a decree by the powerful combined vested interests like the Federal Reserve (a k a the Jewish Reserve) the Mob, CIA, FBI, Secret Service, the Armed Forces and the the financial heavyweights of the country. It was an evil combined, calculated design and scheme achieved to perfection. It was a coup d'tetat. LBJ was the intended beneficiary.

  • There are many conspiracy theories and a lot of print has been wasted for pulp fiction about so many conspiracies. You waste too much time reading pulp fiction, your misinformation is encyclopedic , why don't read something about the real world, not such Narnia type themes based on fantasies.

  • Where do you get this information. Can you reference your sources?

  • You are very deluded.

  • And U are ignorant and naive about politics. Idiots like U believe everything the people in the Government tells U. And the politicians love people like U so they can get a free ride at your expense.

  • QUITE TO THE CONTRARY, I think

I don't believe what the gop says at all. A bunch of made up hogwash is even less believabable coming from you and a bunch of self-deluded fairy tale

    fabricators. Bigfoot and UFO theorists

abound with "proof" too. Fairy tales for children.

  • Vietnam was a disaster. Still, he was one of the best presidents we have ever had.

  • Yes alec I agree, it was his downfall, you speak well. LBJ knew it, before eventhe first deployment he told one aide that Nam was going to give him a very negative role in history. History said we stopped them in Korea, why not Nam? Misunderestimation of HoChiMin was the mistake, notice the de-escalation in Afghanistan lately? It is time to withdraw.

  • LBJ did not endorse Eisenhower in 1956.

  • Correct - LBJ did not endorse IKE. This accusation derives from the fact LBJ stated publicly that IKE had the better strategy and platform and the DEMS abandoned any real effort to win in 1956.

Also, LBJ NEVER haggled for free haircuts. This commentary is riddled with inaccuracies. LBJ was a great president.

  • LOL typical democratic partison hack. LBJ was the worst.

  • Yea, he was a hack and a political chameleonhe had to be, used money ,influence, ruthlessness, egotism,

power, threats, intimidation, promises, cajolery, anthing. But he was the ultimate trojan horse and an anathema for conservatives. When he reached that great goal -spun a 180 turned upon the south and spread "poplustics politics" in a revolution

that is still reverberating to this day. You probably don;t even know....

  • I was wondering what you were doing right now, reading historical reference or watching the video JFK for the 237th time?

  • LBJ died on 1/23/73, some 9+ years after the JFK assassination. Plenty of time to incriminate LBJ. But no evidence was ever produced to link LBJ. LBJ, as president, was dutibound to investigate JFK assassination. He DID create the Christopher Commision...then made every effort to distance himself from the quorum. There is no public/private instance of an LBJ inquiry, appearence, suggestion, dictation or other interference towards the CC by LBJ on record.

  • You are priceless! Like a kid who keeps getting his head stuck in a fence. The Gulf of Tonkin incident was created by LBJ as such, however, not to attain unlimited military control as informally suggested. The GOT was created to increase military action in Vietnam w/o an official declaration of war. At hieght of COLD WAR a declaration would have China a/or Russia automatically enter war & risk nuclear engagement. A brilliant political move. I'm no kin of LBJ, but a beneficiary of his vision.

  • LBJ had only one attorney throughout his lifetime - Alvin Wertz & he never said LBJ ordered a hit. LBJ had a cadre of legal representitives and you are trying to convince me not one of them could produce an airline ticket, telegram reciept, phone record, ammunition purchase, meeting notes ANYTHING linking LBJ to the crime. There is no evidence to suggest a link. Only hyperbole and conjecture from simple minded people. LBJ was a great President!

  • Jack Ruby was as reliable as the 11:00 PM weather report.

Foremost, you have to question the competency of an individual who murdered LH Oswald on live TV and said he did it "to spare JOK from testifying." Bullshit.

OJ Simpson has nothing to do with this discussion.

You keep on "believing" Jack Ruby and discredit your judgement at the same time.

  • There id NO evidence linking LBJ with the death of JFK. NONE. Finding any evidence against LBJ would be the HOLY GRAIL of all history. Reputable historians (Tom Brokaw, for one) give no credence to an LBJ conspiracy. JFK and RFK made enough enemies on their own....LBJ did not need to kill JFK. I will believe my research and the research of noted historians before I believe the ranting of uninformed YOUTUBE conspiracy zealots.

  • This asshole killed almost 50,000 teenagers in Vietnam. He is in HELL now getting fucked for eternity by satan.

  • While I agree LBJ, Hoover, Texas Oil, the CIA, and others had JFK killed, I do not believe George HW Bush was involved. The jury in my mind as to Nixon's involvement is still out. LBJ had to face those demons when he left office and that is probably why he started to go bonkers.

  • well, conspiracy aside, don't you folks realize that killing the prez in Dallas in front of hundreds of eye witnesses who took pictures and even were fimling the shooting and chasing the alleged shooter(s) was a pretty stupid idea ?!

It was way too risky !

If there was a conspiracy the participants were dumb. A way to kill him safely would have been poisoning or push him off a cliff or the like. Think people.

  • Look at the motorcade, LBJ ducks down 6 seconds before the 5 shots are fired into JFK's head by Geo HW Bush.

See the new video: you tube: paul8kangas

LBJ settled the feud by killing JFK.

  • Where exactly was LBJ when JFK, when JFK was executed?

JFK owed his assassination to LBJ.

  • LBJ was seven cars behind JFK.

  • No. Ha, ha! there u are not even familiar even with the actual motorcade events. He was 2 cars behind. Where do U get ur info and facts? I should ask that of U also.

  • If you could peddle this nonsense credibly, you might be a success, instead of just trying to critique

a great human being with meaningless drivel. The honor belongs to those who are dirty with sweat from the arean who can state " They can say of me that at least I have tried." There are many like you : who will slam themselves against the wall of greatness so they can feel as if they have spoken something of importance , Keep trying, it is hilarious.

  • I have a potty mouth that my boy friends say looks like a common asshole.

At night, I like to relax by flicking ShutterBun2s tiny dick, holding 10feanors tongue in my butt cheeks, and get a really nice hum-job from both huckstered and arther1045 on my balls.

I feel so giddy when having unusual pervert sex with my CIA butt-buddies.

Tehehe. I like to squeal all over. Tehehe. I'm such a perv. Tehehe, giggle.

  • How much of this stuff do you think we can stand?

Johnson City , Texas (cow ranch) is a much more hot, relaxing, happening place to yell at advisers and the press about foreign bombing missions than in Hyannisport, Mass. (yachts and Ivy Leagers/Boston accents/old money).

  • If Johnson had never been President there would have been no Vietnam War and 58,000 Americans would not have died.

  • If anyone wants to know why the United States is in the shape that it is in today, look no further than this so-called president.

  • So true... look at medicare.

  • Was it accidental or planned? I tend to believe planned. Facts are stranger than fiction.

  • He died knowing everything he had done and hide. What many people dont know is that he actually put it all in writting before he died.. Where or if we will ever see that letter is everyone's guess.?

  • Im A Texan And Im Prouf Of

    Lyndon B. Johnson

The First President Of Texas (h)

  • he wuz a good president to me...he helped black people or did wut he could anyway

  • In 1967, Lyndon B Johnson applied various changes to the 1951 Universal Military Training and Service Act via the The Military Selective Service Act of 1967. These changes ENDED the drafts majority of minority representation in Vietnam. Prior to June 1967 there was little opposition to Vietnam or LBJ. In fact, LBJ was on the cover of BOTH Time and Life Magazines as a testament to his then popularity. Once changes to the draft affected the middle-class did we see a rise in anti-war demonstrations

  • Actually the war was all ready well underway when LBJ became president. Eisenhower dispatched military advisers there and by the time Kennedy was killed, there were all ready 16,000 military advisers. So LBJ didn't start the war.

  • Technically, the War didn't start until August of 1964. NSA Memo 263 was reverse by Johnson, it stated that 1000 troops home by Christmas and all military advisors out by the end of 1965. Thats fact. If he really loved Kennedy, he would've kept the policies in place instaed of issuing NSA Memo 273 reversing the order.

  • Thats such a moronic statement, ''if he really loved Kennedy, he would've kept the policies in place.." He accomplished more in his first year as president than Kennedy in his Presidency. LBJ knew how to work Congress and get things done, and his agenda was the same as JFK's. Nobody knows what JFK would've done regarding Vietnam, so its ridiculous to speculate. LBJ trusted the US military establishment and that was his downfall. He did what he thought was right for the country, not copy JFK.

  • True Johnson did get a lot done......But why.....Because of Kennedys Death. The country and the republicans were in no mood in fighting with the new President. It did take the Republicans to pass the Civil Rights Bill after 20 plus Southern Democrats including President Kennedy good friend Sen George Smathers voted against it.....

  • That may be partially true, but the biggest reason is that he was a master politician and had a very good relationship with congress.

  • As a politcal science major I thought it was crazy too....But Johnson did endorse Eisenhower in 1956.....Bobby Kennedy also voted for Eisenhower. Crazy....Yes...But it happen. Johnson was planning is own track for the 1960 election, and refuse to campaign for Stevenson. Bobby work for STEVENSON until he saw Stevenson going Far too the left and decided to vote for Eisenhower on Election Day.

  • In what way did he endorse him, and how did you find out? Secretly voting for Ike on election day like Bobby Kennedy did is one thing, but for the Senate majority leader to publicly support the opposite party for president seems very unlikely, and politically suicidal.

  • LBJ had no control over "lilly white" state draft boards. It bothered him that the poor minority represented the average draftee. During his presidency he issued an executive order to reverse the draft order from age 19 through 26 to 26 to 19, it palced stiffer restrictions for college deferments, and placed minority representatives on draft boards. This order changed the demographics of the draft. When the draft finally affected the middle-class did we see a rise in anti-war demonstrations.

  • It was Johnson's decision to escalate the war in Vietnam, using the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. That decision inadvertently sent 10's of thousands of poverty stricken young men to their deaths.

On a side note, the two significant increases in anti-war protests occured after the US started extensive bombings of North Vietnam. Then increased further after the Nixon administration decided to start bombing Cambodia and Laos.

  • The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution was devised to allow extended military action w/o officially declaring war against N. Vietnam. An official declaration of war against North Vietnam would have surely resulted in China and possibly Russia officially entering the war. The first significant anti-war demonstration occured in October 1967 in Washington DC after changes to draft policy in spring of 1967. The demonstrations escalated after the TET Offensive i8n Jan. 1968.

  • Nobody's talking about the motives and strategies behind the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. All I said, was that they used it to send a great number of combat troops into Vietnam. Most of those numbers consisting of poverty stricken individuals.

On a side note, depending on your source, you will get different answers on what exactly caused the rise in anti-war protests. Either way, you contradicted yourself.

  • a traitor is worse than the devil itself

  • a murderer and a thief

  • Lyndon B Johnson did study law. ILiving in Washington DC n the early 1930s as the Congressionl Secratary of Dick Kleberg, LBL briefly attended the Georgetown School of Law, however, he dropped out to pursue politics.

  • I, too, never knew LBJ as a "Lawyer by education." As far as I know, LBJ was educated as a teacher at a teachers college in San Marcos, TX. He did, however, work for a lawyer (I want to say Clarence Martin, but I am not sure) as a young man in San Bernardino, CA in hopes of becoming a lawyer...see, in those days, you could take the CA bar exam with three years experience working in law.....

  • Yea joflo in Ca and briefly in Washington.

  • Accidental president my ass ! ! !

  • I've never heard anyone ever say LBJ was a Lawer? He was known as a school teacher. Also he never endorsed Eisenhauer. Although they did work together as president and senate leader.

  • Did Johnson really endorse Eisenhower? I had never heard that until now.

  • That's B.S., there's no way that the Senate Majority leader for the Democrats would endorse a candidate of the opposite party for president. That's ridiculous.

  • I did research.....he didn't publicly endorse Stevenson but He voted for Eisenhower. Do did Bobby Kennedy. Bobby campaign with Stevenson and saw he was running a inept campaign and voted for Eisenhower for Re-election. Johnson did endorse Eisenhower under the table by not fully supporting the Democratic Ticket in 1956.

Read Bobby Kennedy and His Life/ Accidental President.

  • not all presidents would be in hell...what about Washingtion, Lincoln, Reagan, Roosevelt etc...its just the some of our presidents of the 20th century are in hell now

  • Gov Connally and LBJ were good buddies.Connally was secretary of the Navy. After becoming president LBJ awarded texas based contractors with huge military contracts.J Edgar Hoover & LBJ were life long best friends,LBJ made Hoover FBI director for LIFE after becoming President.CBS television was founded by William Paley who happened to be tied to the CIA and a specialist in psychological warfare in the military.

  • "You can kiss my ass on the hottest day of summer in Macey's front window!" as LBJ was fond of saying! There was nothing accidental about LBJ's seizure of the presidency!

  • Eric Severied was the epitome of an Eastern Liberal Elite Media type. In this piece, he says something very false: Lyndon Johnson was never "...a lawyer by education" (or any other way). Rather, he was first a school teacher and later a 'gentleman rancher'. No wonder the young people of today learn history incorrectly!

  • Johnson escalated the Vietnam War based on the Gulf of Tonkin Incident that Macnamara now admits never even happened. Had the French left the Waffen Foreign Legion figters in place, America wouldn't have even been needed there.

  • Oh yes, I am certain most US presidents are in Hell getting gang raped nightly by Satan and his crew. Actually, if Hell and Satan existed, US presidents would be treated like royalty there, having done Satan's work on earth.

  • I remember as a boy falling asleep every time Eric Severeid opened his mouth.

  • lol@satan.

    accidental? not likely.

  • Right Now. Good ole LBJ is being tormented by Satan and screaming like a little bitch in Hitler's bed. Burn in hell, my fellow Texan.

  • just wait til George W Bush gets there, boy!

  • You be quite, show respect for are president, he was a good man and a good christian! God Bless LBJ, also do not judge my friend!

  • LBJ was a crook, lier and a deceiving person.

Im pretty sure he was an unpunished criminal

but not the kind that holds the gun. Respect your presidents when they deserve, not in a blind way. Believe me, some leaders of America were not as honorable as their people.

  • I dont consider him any of that, on the research I have done on him, I consider him a president that just was plagued by his own negative thoughts and could not get a break on anything.

  • very true

  • All im going to say is LBJ was a great politician.

  • LBJ was great for civil rights but as the war goes, it was a total trainwreck.

  • When you consider the total LBJ story, he was indeed a great politician.

  • tell me something good he did other than sending kids to die in vietnam?

  • Had Dr. Hector Garcia buried at Arlington Nat'l Cemetary when local cemetary would not bury a "brown hero."

    Colarado River Authority.

Texas leader of National Youth Authority.

    Civil Rights Act of 1957

The incredible senate/cogress manuevering to assure passage of Civil Rights Act, Voters Rights Act, National Education Act, Higher Education Act, stopped Communist aggression in Dominican Republic and Panama. First president to have MLK and a black personal secratary in the White House.

  • Indeed. It's ironic that a southerner would be one of the biggest champions of civil rights.

  • what do u guys have against regan? dont bring him into the confersation!

  • Fuck LBJ

  • Fuck Bush

  • and Bush

  • fuck bush x3

  • Johnson didn't kill JFK, and he did far more for civil rights than Kennedy did. Kennedy promised a lot but did little. If it was for Vietnam Johnson would have been one of, if not the, best president in American history

  • Comment removed

  • A failure caused by the massive spending on the Vietnam war, if he could have invested in his great society as much as he wanted it could have been amazing. But unfortunately what happened happened and he is not remembered like he should be

  • Johnson did more in the six years he had as President than Ronald Reagan AND both Bushes put together.

  • You know absolutely nothing about politics. 84 , 84 laws brought about by LBJ's political maneuverings. Affecting all

facets of everyday life. From clean air and water to medicare, your misinformation

    is encyclopedic.
