Because of the 1957 bill African American Leaders were concern about LBJ Civil Rights credentials but he brought them along & risked losing the South to the Republican Party. But the risk was well worth it because those Southern Democrats weren't real Democrats & are Republicans today.

Actually the war was all ready well underway when LBJ became president. Eisenhower dispatched military advisers there and by the time Kennedy was killed, there were all ready 16,000 military advisers. So LBJ didn't start the war.
Technically, the War didn't start until August of 1964. NSA Memo 263 was reverse by Johnson, it stated that 1000 troops home by Christmas and all military advisors out by the end of 1965. Thats fact. If he really loved Kennedy, he would've kept the policies in place instaed of issuing NSA Memo 273 reversing the order.

He figured, you can't live in poverty if you're dead... and an added bonus was that it would reduce the number of hippie freeloaders in working class households.
LBJ had no control over "lilly white" state draft boards. It bothered him that the poor minority represented the average draftee. During his presidency he issued an executive order to reverse the draft order from age 19 through 26 to 26 to 19, it palced stiffer restrictions for college deferments, and placed minority representatives on draft boards. This order changed the demographics of the draft. When the draft finally affected the middle-class did we see a rise in anti-war demonstrations.
It was Johnson's decision to escalate the war in Vietnam, using the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. That decision inadvertently sent 10's of thousands of poverty stricken young men to their deaths.
On a side note, the two significant increases in anti-war protests occured after the US started extensive bombings of North Vietnam. Then increased further after the Nixon administration decided to start bombing Cambodia and Laos.
The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution was devised to allow extended military action w/o officially declaring war against N. Vietnam. An official declaration of war against North Vietnam would have surely resulted in China and possibly Russia officially entering the war. The first significant anti-war demonstration occured in October 1967 in Washington DC after changes to draft policy in spring of 1967. The demonstrations escalated after the TET Offensive i8n Jan. 1968.

I was in country in Naval Intelligence in 1965 and discovered we were not allowed to win the war. We could have won the war at any time but the directives from the White House were to perpetuate the war and every commander in that theater knew it. Because of the 1957 bill African American Leaders were concern about LBJ Civil Rights credentials but he brought them along & risked losing the South to the Republican Party. But the risk was well worth it because those Southern Democrats weren't real Democrats & are Republicans today.

Your information is innaccurate. JFK authorized a coup against Diem by South Vietnemese Army Generals on Aug. 20, 1963 and LBJ did not find out about it until Aug. 26, 1963. LBJ balked at the turn of events. LBJ considered Diem a friend a picture of Diem hung in the Washington DC home of LBJ. JFK NEVER allowed VP LBJ to sit in on ANY conference or meeting of significance. JFK's desire to withdraw from Vietnam was NEVER policy. Had it been, LBJ would have been forced to honor it.

Your data is innaccurate. Per "LBJ: Architect of American Ambition" by Randall B Woods (pp. 406) ...JFK authorized Diem's coup on 8-26-63 and LBJ did not find out until 8-28=63. JFK NEVER aloowed LBJ to sit in on any meeting/conference of any significance.
Also, JFKs desire to leave Vietnam was NEVER policy. Had it been LBJ would have been forced to honor it.

Correct - LBJ did not endorse IKE. This accusation derives from the fact LBJ stated publicly that IKE had the better strategy and platform and the DEMS abandoned any real effort to win in 1956.

LBJ died on 1/23/73, some 9+ years after the JFK assassination. Plenty of time to incriminate LBJ. But no evidence was ever produced to link LBJ. LBJ, as president, was dutibound to investigate JFK assassination. He DID create the Christopher Commision...then made every effort to distance himself from the quorum. There is no public/private instance of an LBJ inquiry, appearence, suggestion, dictation or other interference towards the CC by LBJ on record.

The Gulf of Tonkin incident was created by LBJ as such, however, not to attain unlimited military control as informally suggested. The GOT was created to increase military action in Vietnam w/o an official declaration of war. At hieght of COLD WAR a declaration would have China a/or Russia automatically enter war & risk nuclear engagement. A brilliant political move. I'm no kin of LBJ, but a beneficiary of his vision.

LBJ had only one attorney throughout his lifetime - Alvin Wertz & he never said LBJ ordered a hit. LBJ had a cadre of legal representitives and you are trying to convince me not one of them could produce an airline ticket, telegram reciept, phone record, ammunition purchase, meeting notes ANYTHING linking LBJ to the crime. There is no evidence to suggest a link. Only hyperbole and conjecture from simple minded people. LBJ was a great President!

There id NO evidence linking LBJ with the death of JFK. NONE. Finding any evidence against LBJ would be the HOLY GRAIL of all history. Reputable historians (Tom Brokaw, for one) give no credence to an LBJ conspiracy. JFK and RFK made enough enemies on their own....LBJ did not need to kill JFK. I will believe my research and the research of noted historians before I believe the ranting of uninformed YOUTUBE conspiracy zealots.

In 1967, Lyndon B Johnson applied various changes to the 1951 Universal Military Training and Service Act via the The Military Selective Service Act of 1967. These changes ENDED the drafts majority of minority representation in Vietnam. Prior to June 1967 there was little opposition to Vietnam or LBJ. In fact, LBJ was on the cover of BOTH Time and Life Magazines as a testament to his then popularity. Once changes to the draft affected the middle-class did we see a rise in anti-war demonstrations

Actually the war was all ready well underway when LBJ became president. Eisenhower dispatched military advisers there and by the time Kennedy was killed, there were all ready 16,000 military advisers. So LBJ didn't start the war.

Technically, the War didn't start until August of 1964. NSA Memo 263 was reverse by Johnson, it stated that 1000 troops home by Christmas and all military advisors out by the end of 1965. Thats fact. If he really loved Kennedy, he would've kept the policies in place instaed of issuing NSA Memo 273 reversing the order.

LBJ knew how to work Congress and get things done, and his agenda was the same as JFK's. Nobody knows what JFK would've done regarding Vietnam, so its ridiculous to speculate. LBJ trusted the US military establishment and that was his downfall. He did what he thought was right for the country, not copy JFK.

He figured, you can't live in poverty if you're dead... and an added bonus was that it would reduce the number of hippie freeloaders in working class households.

LBJ had no control over "lilly white" state draft boards. It bothered him that the poor minority represented the average draftee. During his presidency he issued an executive order to reverse the draft order from age 19 through 26 to 26 to 19, it palced stiffer restrictions for college deferments, and placed minority representatives on draft boards. This order changed the demographics of the draft. When the draft finally affected the middle-class did we see a rise in anti-war demonstrations.

It was Johnson's decision to escalate the war in Vietnam, using the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. That decision inadvertently sent 10's of thousands of poverty stricken young men to their deaths.
On a side note, the two significant increases in anti-war protests occured after the US started extensive bombings of North Vietnam. Then increased further after the Nixon administration decided to start bombing Cambodia and Laos.

The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution was devised to allow extended military action w/o officially declaring war against N. Vietnam. An official declaration of war against North Vietnam would have surely resulted in China and possibly Russia officially entering the war. The first significant anti-war demonstration occured in October 1967 in Washington DC after changes to draft policy in spring of 1967. The demonstrations escalated after the TET Offensive i8n Jan. 1968.

Nobody's talking about the motives and strategies behind the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. All I said, was that they used it to send a great number of combat troops into Vietnam. Most of those numbers consisting of poverty stricken individuals.
On a side note, depending on your source, you will get different answers on what exactly caused the rise in anti-war protests. Either way, you contradicted yourself.

I, too, never knew LBJ as a "Lawyer by education." As far as I know, LBJ was educated as a teacher at a teachers college in San Marcos, TX. He did, however, work for a lawyer (I want to say Clarence Martin, but I am not sure) as a young man in San Bernardino, CA in hopes of becoming a lawyer...see, in those days, you could take the CA bar exam with three years experience working in law.....

I did research.....he didn't publicly endorse Stevenson but He voted for Eisenhower. Do did Bobby Kennedy. Bobby campaign with Stevenson and saw he was running a inept campaign and voted for Eisenhower for Re-election. Johnson did endorse Eisenhower under the table by not fully supporting the Democratic Ticket in 1956.
