  • I love this video! And what you say is very true. I know that I personally have focused very heavily on how I look in the past and then felt down heartened when what I imagined in my head wasn't staring back at me in the mirror. I have started a positivity book (which I am making a post about in the next week or so) which not only focuses on what makes me beautiful, but also all the things I love about me and my life. All the good things. I think being positive helps with the journey!

  • Being positive is the key to success. I love that you are going to make this positivity book because it will pull your attention of the scale and on to your heart :-)...you should also make a response video to Charlene :-)

  • I agree with you very much. I find it terribly sad that so much emphasis is placed on physical beauty. I CAN understand that physically beauty is wonderful! That flowers, and paintings and blue skies and clear oceans and dark hills and handsome people are lovely to behold! But I HATE the obsession with it, and I dislike the effect that this obsession has on me. I feel like I am not totally involved in it, but that the ripple out effect from those who are involved, affects me indirectly/deeply.

  • I think we re all have been fed and brainwashed with this überperson that modern society holds as an example...and oh hell when we can t compeat with that image...and then we beat ourselves for not looking like that...madness!!! It upsets me really badly to also know that it causes so much unnessecary grieve....especially to younger people who are still searching for their voice in life...and to you and me who are trying to shed that skin...

  • You have really hit the nail on the head with this one however i must admit i do feel life easier if i look a certain way so i bow down to that , i shall have to think about this one you made some excellent points i will probs make a video in the future about this , you got me thinking lol , =D

  • There is nothing wrong with wanting to look a certain way in my opinion. I also want to look the best I can coz offcours it s a boost for selfesteem but I justed wanted to emphasize that it shouldn t be the most important thing to look for...will look forward to your video on this....yay, I think Charlene has set of a chain reaction!! :-)

  • i think what it is ,is there are certain stereotypes when it comes to beauty like models who are unatractivly thin in my opinion, and they are suppose to be the most beautiful women on the planet however that isnot true they focus soley on there looks , where as *normal * people take pride in there apperance but it doesnt means thats who they are, therepersonality make them beautiful and looks just differentiate us all,lol yes she has , its sucha vast subjuct with so many different opinions=)

  • wow. I just want to give you a hug.

  • :-) well, I am giving you a virtual hug right back xx

  • my goodness! This video epidomizes what I wanted people to see and feel... in themselves... b/c it's so important to recognize the person you see at the end of the weight loss journey. Thank you so much for having the courage to share what makes you beautiful with us... I think it's a very scary thing to do b/c media seems to want to make us feel guilty or bad for not looking a certain way... the opposite of beautiful... so to find the courage to still believe you are... is very hard.

  • You re absolutely right....we have to do so many unnessacary battles against society to preserve our good nature it seems. Media is especially so dangerous for all people who have been devoid of a sence of selfesteem and they are made to believe that if they don t ressemble the stars on screen that they are some kind of losers that should sit in the shadow. The world has their values all mixed up and we get brainwashed by higher powers that are only in it for a commercial gain....

  • Wow Sophie-that was amazing- I have so much to say in response I'm going to have to do a video response to your video response!!!! :) Anyway, yes, your emotions are what make you beautiful- and is probably so integral to your being a musician.

  • I will be looking forward to your video, Nikki! This is a very good issue to talk about!
