Caught Edgefest in Calgary....After living up in the cold for 2 years up in Banff, the first time I "come down the mountain" it hits about 90-95 degrees. People were droppin like flies from heatstroke! I mostly remember 4 things through my mushroom/heat induced haze, the novelty of smokin a J right next to a cop, the steam coming off the moshpit, the ringing in my ears for 3 days after, and the bubbles of puss on my forehead from 2nd degree sunburns. Those were the days!

I was at the Ottawa Edgefest show in 1998 - first gig of my life, 2 days before my 11th birthday, with only my older brother to watch me, who I promptly lost as soon as I could.

I got almost killed in mosh pit before some a huge muscley Canadian put me on his shoulders, and I watched the whole set about 10 feet from the stage, so close Mike Dirnt and exchanged nods. Can you say: absolutely life-altering, mindblowing and cataclysmic childhood event?
