David used three amps one for the delayed sound set to a lower volume and one for his wet signal to the main amp plus a Leslie. The delay you have in this video is not done that well but it's a start. Sound on sound did not really get used extensively until Division Bell. Especially on Marooned.

Nice! But it's true, David has a totally different tone. In the intro- The tone is very soft and he probably has the Mid high. He also has his strat switch on the top, Not to much Reverb but after the intro there is quite a bit of Reverb! Thank you for sharing!

The DD-3 does this as well. If you use the "Hold" feature. it will play the delayed segment and will allow your direct signal bypass the delay. Eric Johnson does this as well.

Dude.. there is way too much delay, you should use slight dynamic delay as well if you have it on your pedal instead of normal delay, it would sound much better. Keep it up though, good job.

great video! I'm glad to see how do you use these pedals, and yeah, this video also inspire me to create new sounds. However, I really enjoyed that there's no distorsion, no overdrive, no metal sounds, I'm sick of vids which show me only one or two metal settings during 3-4 minutes, especially when those metalguys wasting the technology of such a serious stuff like a Line6 pod xt live or something. These multi effects are for creative guys, and you are one of those, congrat!

its not too much delay, its the initial delay playback volume, or since this is a boss, the level.... its too high, it should sound like an echo, not someone mimicking you immediately with a full volume amp.

@KLBRECH1 if you have a POD 2.0 or higher you may also need the floorboard (full one) cause i can with those two. I just program a very long tap on delay, play my background track, then with the edit sound setting, turn off the delay to stop any aditional backing tracks (backing track should keep playing), and simply play over my backing track, although with my lead track i haven't yet figured how to give that a delay (can do a reverb though) without altering my backing track

sorry mate, but you got it wrong. I can't really see how you've set it up but what you have to do is to SPLIT the signal. One part will go directly to the amp (or a BIT of delay and reverb). The other part will go through a volume pedal to a massive delay (a lot of feedback and mix). That way you can hit the chord and fade it to the delay with the volume pedal, fade out again and play the other stuff while the chord lingers on in the delay.

Well at least thats how I think he did it ;-)
