No.The battle system is a mix between KH2 and KH:CoM.You can either attack normally or use techniques in the form of deck commands(Eg.Judgment,Fira).Also,there's a bar that fills up every time you attack and when its full you can either use a finisher or enter a mode change(something like a drive form)

But thanks anyway :PP (BBS JP doesnt give much challenge at all comparing to other KH series but it has the BEST battle system compared to other KH. Its just perfect and outstanding)

How it really is: Ven, Teraa and aqua are all Keyblade warriors that came before Sora. Sora has never been "the chosen one" or something he is "one of the chosen" Terra is a keyblade master and ven and aqua are his apprentices, Roxas looks like Ven not vice versa. IT hasnt been explained why but most likely it has something to do with how Soras nobody (roxas) most resembled Ventus so it took his form. Or a keyblade would only work for certain people so rxas HAD to look like a old kblade warrior.

I sympathize with you a bit. I would rather they just make the final part of Kingdom Hearts and just be done with it but I guess this is Square's way of milking the franchise as much as possible. These spin off Kingdom Hearts games (Chain of Memories, 358/2, Birth of Sleep) are just meant to provide more background story to the already ambiguous Kingdom Hearts universe. It is kind of interesting to know more about the keyblade's origin I guess. =/

He is, Ven isnt Roxas, im kinda sick of people saying that, just because they look alike doesnt mean anything, though in birth by sleep there is a part here both ven and terra see sora riku and kairi when they were around 5 or so but roxas wasnt created until sora became a heartless, he lost his memories because Xemnas created Xion(a replica of Sora) and gave her Roxas memories wich were soras, thats why he didnt have any memories. Roxas is Roxas and Ven is Ven.
oh I guess I left one part out. XIon resembles Kairi because she is Soras most precious memory. Like I said though Ven encountered Sora when he was lil. Ven became a great memory of soras and thats why roxas resembles him, Ven was someone who resembled exactly how sora felt when he became a heartless. Sora was to Kairi as Ven was to Terra. Ven would have sacrificed himself for terra just like Sora did for her, thus at that moment Roxas was created in the image of a memory most suitable .
Ven is not roxas in any way shape or form, but they do have a resemblance, thats the only connection to roxas. They are not related. Ven is not soras father(as proposed by others in previous videos) nor are they the same person.
Saying ven and roxas are the same person is wrong and right in a way....................
Ven is a releation to sora. When sora became a heartless, then returned to human form, Roxas was unable to look exactly the same as sora, (due to his body returning to normal)
so maybe Roxas took on the looks of a relative instead. Namely Ventus. Hence the same looks.

Shit, I'm more interested in the battle system than the story,specalation sucks.I guess those kinda Limit Break modes or whatever are like KH2's Drive forms,looks awesome, I know that much.

Xion is sora memories she was created to keep Sora asleep(Sora being asleep is explained in Kingdom heart chain of memories and KH 358/2 days) she was supposed to be a puppet but she develop feelings and emotions,

Im a little dissapionted...Why make games that have nothing to do with the orignal kingdom hearts 1 and 2...I would rather play kingdom hearts 3 then play some gay game that has nothing to do with the orginals

Its a prequel this game will explain(probably) on why keyblades exist or why Sora was the chosen one.. its obvious that Ven is connected to Sora and Roxas give it a chance...

omg can you please thing before you say things. games that are prequels also have something to do with the original games it just takes place in the past. think about this when you first played KH1 havent you ever wondered things like "what is a keyblade" "why is sora the one that the keyblade chose" questions like that will be answered in prequels to video games....just give the game a chance i mean you gotta admit even when your watching game play this game still looks great

I sympathize with you a bit. I would rather they just make the final part of Kingdom Hearts and just be done with it but I guess this is Square's way of milking the franchise as much as possible. These spin off Kingdom Hearts games (Chain of Memories, 358/2, Birth of Sleep) are just meant to provide more background story to the already ambiguous Kingdom Hearts universe. It is kind of interesting to know more about the keyblade's origin I guess. =/

just to let everyone know ven isnt roxas,s dad or grandad because he is 16 in this game and sora is 6 in this game so that would meen he had sora when he was ten years old!!!!not gonna happen

16? I figured since he looked so much like Roxas, he'd have been about the age Sora was at the time Roxas was born. About 13 or 14.

Certainly not. At his age, that's not possible. I mean, in Sora's current story, he'd only be about my age. lol And I don't know of anyone my age that has a 14 year old son.

This is so cool that this is a Prequel to the Kingdom Hearts series, just like Square Enix did with the Star Ocean series...they've been making a lot of Prequels to awesome RPG's lately :)

.......your an idiot, Ven is not Roxas. This takes place 10 years before the first game. Roxas wasnt even created yet. #85/2 explains why roxas lost his memories and it has nothing to do with Ven

........Ok that was stupid. I do know the story, you dont have to be one of the developers for the damn game to know it. You do realize that the general story line has already been released aswell as birth by sleep. I am not assuming anything. I am telling you the truth. and when you find all of it out yourself, by either playing the game or even reading the story lines then you will look back and agree with me. So I will tlk like I know what happening because I do know whats happening.

He is, Ven isnt Roxas, im kinda sick of people saying that, just because they look alike doesnt mean anything, though in birth by sleep there is a part here both ven and terra see sora riku and kairi when they were around 5 or so but roxas wasnt created until sora became a heartless, he lost his memories because Xemnas created Xion(a replica of Sora) and gave her Roxas memories wich were soras, thats why he didnt have any memories. Roxas is Roxas and Ven is Ven.

oh I guess I left one part out. XIon resembles Kairi because she is Soras most precious memory. Like I said though Ven encountered Sora when he was lil. Ven became a great memory of soras and thats why roxas resembles him, Ven was someone who resembled exactly how sora felt when he became a heartless. Sora was to Kairi as Ven was to Terra. Ven would have sacrificed himself for terra just like Sora did for her, thus at that moment Roxas was created in the image of a memory most suitable .

Ven is not roxas in any way shape or form, but they do have a resemblance, thats the only connection to roxas. They are not related. Ven is not soras father(as proposed by others in previous videos) nor are they the same person.

Ven is a releation to sora. When sora became a heartless, then returned to human form, Roxas was unable to look exactly the same as sora, (due to his body returning to normal)
so maybe Roxas took on the looks of a relative instead. Namely Ventus. Hence the same looks.
