das will das Kleid mich was lehren

Aber sonst sehr schön gibt einen Daumen hoch von mir

  • Gailes Lied, meine mudda steht drauf :D

  • I learned this song in 4th grade from my teacher, I learned the german version years before the english version, What a great song :)

I miss 4th Grade, and my Teacher Mrs Russle from DANA Elementary School

  • why do americans have to talk about nazism here? thats a christmas song and not the national anthem. Its 2010!

  • super

bin moslem aber perfekter song -=)

  • I was reading the German lyrics, they are so true. I was born in western France. Just in front of our house, stand a wonderful 'Tannenbaum'. A dark green God. Strong and powerful.Fierce ocean winds sang between its branches. December 27th1999, it was 40 years old, I was 42. Came hurricane Martin, downed millions of trees in the Poitou-Charentes, in that terrible night. Our Tannenbaum and its fellows birches fell on our house. May be it was just a tree, but I don't think so, I still miss it.

  • In a bit further past, England has much to be grateful to Germany and Europe for: In

19th Century Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg brought about a great deal good social reform for ordinary folk and he brought science and culture to the masses - today we still enjoy the museums he had built when he reigned with Queen Victoria, a Hanovarian, of course. And. this time of year, how boring it would be in these damp GB Ilses without Albert's introduction of the Christmas tree - O Tannenbaum!

  • "hellspawn54" your're so right!!

merry christmas to all of you from germany :)

  • To all of You!

I think it is not far to blame the todays germans for horrors of the nazism. In this way one could scold almost any nations for some reasons from the past like colonasing Africa, attacking China in the Opium War etc. Butnow it is christmas time for forgiving. Thats the real message of that song....

  • During the Third Reich "O Tannenbaum" was promoted by the Nazis as part of their program to remove the more Christian parts of Christmas.:(

  • who cares? it's a very beautiful song and it reminds me of my childhood, where the illusions of santa were alive. The world was peaceful and full of harmony but if you're older you look around and you'll e.g. see that there is no harmony on the world.

  • "Who cares" I suppose that is a valid response to gaining some knowledge. It was just something to know, there was no agenda, but I suppose that if one does not want to know things, then just disregard it.

  • no but it just pisses me off that other nations just never have to say positive things about Germany or german things. I'm not as old as the nazis or like my grandpa who had to fight for Hitler. I'm no fuckin nazi and I'll never want to be a nazi, but please don't remember the germans anytime of this fuckin piece of history. No one of us was alive at this time. Thats is my fuckin problem about your sentence below this wonderful song

  • You are not the only one that feels that way, my grandfather and his brothers are pure blooded german, all four fought for the United States during WWII and one did not make it back. I myself have studied German for four years through school and still everyone referse to it as the nazi language rather than the language of an amazing country that has accomplished so much
