DSP, you're not entirely right. I got this game on rental, and I'm pleased! Cons of this are it's difficulty settings; either it's too hard or easy and the story's short. Pros of this game are the gameplay and multiplayer. If you have an older Xbox 360 console (Arcade, etc.) you may have bugs, but for those of you who have S, you'll have smooth play. It's very little given for many taken, I agree. But ranting is not nescessary here! It's fun, see other's reviews! Not IGN or Gamespot!

Do you click on "save and quit" in the menu before turning off your console? because if you just switch it off right after a checkpoint, no progress will be saved.

ODST ranks up pretty high in my Halo series. And I am one of the biggest Halo fans you'll meet. I really enjoyed the mood the set to it. and the parts where you were alone as the Rookie. It was meant to be a $30 expansion, like SSFIV or something. But Microsoft wanted a full price tag on it. I really anjoyed the atmosphere of the campaign and how they also went back to the roots of Halo 1 a bit.

I remember finding ODST to be waaay overrated, even though I never had that bug. There was simply nothing new compared to the previous Halos, plus the campaign mode where you have to search for those frickin clues is annoying (One is a black sniper rifle, hung 50 feets over the ground on a cable, in front of a black sky. took me around 45 minutes of searching.)

The stupid bug happened to me, too. Not only that, but it actually DELETED some of the achievements that I had already gotten! This was also 2 months after the game had already been released, so they had ample time to patch this. This is unbelievable, and the main reason why I won't buy Reach unless I try it out for myself.

Phil it's not Microsofts or Bungies fault. Bungie asked Microsoft if ODST could be a DLC for around 20$, but since Microsoft made a rule that if something is over a certain memory size it cannot be DLC. ODST at the end was WAY over that limit and since Microsoft didn't want the user to have to give up 25% of their memory for one game they asked Bungie to make it a CD game. Also the 60$ price tag isn't the developers choice, I believe the stores themselves choose what to sell the games for.
I had that bug too. I was playing the game with my friend cuz I just got it and its 2 player so we played the campaign and at the very last level and then we had to go to sleep cuz we were awake at like 5 am with no caffine so I turned it off then after our sleep we went to play the game and our save was gone. We were so fucking pissed i probably chucked the damn thing a whole football field, goddamn I was pissed
I really enjoyed this game. Campaign was short, but my favorite. Liked the old feel to it and the Blade runner influence both artistically and in the music department.

There was simply nothing new compared to the previous Halos, plus the campaign mode where you have to search for those frickin clues is annoying (One is a black sniper rifle, hung 50 feets over the ground on a cable, in front of a black sky. took me around 45 minutes of searching.)

The stupid bug happened to me, too. Not only that, but it actually DELETED some of the achievements that I had already gotten! This was also 2 months after the game had already been released, so they had ample time to patch this. This is unbelievable, and the main reason why I won't buy Reach unless I try it out for myself.

Phil it's not Microsofts or Bungies fault. Bungie asked Microsoft if ODST could be a DLC for around 20$, but since Microsoft made a rule that if something is over a certain memory size it cannot be DLC. ODST at the end was WAY over that limit and since Microsoft didn't want the user to have to give up 25% of their memory for one game they asked Bungie to make it a CD game. Also the 60$ price tag isn't the developers choice, I believe the stores themselves choose what to sell the games for.

I had that bug too. I was playing the game with my friend cuz I just got it and its 2 player so we played the campaign and at the very last level and then we had to go to sleep cuz we were awake at like 5 am with no caffine so I turned it off then after our sleep we went to play the game and our save was gone. We were so fucking pissed i probably chucked the damn thing a whole football field, goddamn I was pissed

I really enjoyed this game. Campaign was short, but my favorite. Liked the old feel to it and the Blade runner influence both artistically and in the music department.
Also....firefight rules.

Did you ever play "Two Worlds"? It was rated basically 4/10 and got low score on ALL sites and magazines. If you like RPGs and sat down and played it, it turned out to be a great game.
